  • 2:49 how long did it take to get there? Do you think the place below is camp-able? Thanks for the vid!

  • @EliiDawg

The lake below is Lake Howden, Howden hut is right there, at the lake on the right. I do not remember if camping was allowed by the lake, I stayed in the hut for the night.

The hut is one hour away from the viewpoint. From the hut to the road is 1 hour 30 mins if you go directly, longer if you enjoy the side trip to Key Summit. We started our trip from that road in the afternoon, I think some people do the trail the other way around.

  • doing this hike next month...so excited!!!!

  • Really gives a great sense of the walk that I remember so vividly. Thanks.

  • I guided here for years along time ago. these long sweeping shots bring back lots of memories and almost do the place justice. Thanks

  • I'm a guide here. Nov,Feb & Late March.

  • Hey i was wondering when the best time to walk the Routeburn, my friend suggested October, after winter but i still dont know, we want good weather like the one in this video, hope you can help - Ants

  • @shadowbasay - I went there at the end of the Summer (March 14-16), but the good weather was a coincidence. Just before that the weather in the area was quite bad for several days, and then it cleared up and we had great weather on the trail - no rain, several hours of fog only.

  • @shadowbasay I went Dec 2-4 and the weather was amazing.

  • Gorgeous footage mate. What Camera did you use?

  • @christopherbruno

    Canon Vixia HV30,
