the shape of your nose change as well,i like your nose before but your really more good looking now.I hope I could pay surgery like that,I have inferiority complex because of my long chin
Hi....Its been 5 weeks since my surgery and I am not fully recovered. My upper lip is still numb and swollen and I am not able to talk normal yet. The surgeon said that I have to start exercising my upper lip so that it can function right once the swelling goes down.. They had my mouth wired shut and when they removed the wiring my teeth were feeling very very sensitive. I am getting a little worried because my lips dont feel right. HELP
I've got six days now for my maxie-facial. -My mum will travel cross country to take care of me for the first couple of days. I hope I'll be able to go to school after 7 days... -the surgeon said 14 days, but we'll see about that. I don't want this to do too much damage on my education. Hopefully I can go to work after a couple of weeks... But if you need 6 weeks then maybe not... May I ask what you do for a living?
The surgery took seven hours and went very well. Worst thing was prolly, that when they put the tube through my nose to suck the blood from the stomach during the operation, they tore the inside of my nose, so I needed 20 stitches in my nostril besides the 52 inside my mouth. This means I had nosebleeds for 2 weeks, and couldn't go back to school until they had stopped....
...I went back to work after 4 weeks. I felt well enough after two weeks, but the doctor said I should wait, due to risk of getting hit by a person on the job.
It took some time for me to get used to the new me, and I would feel awful when I saw my reflection in the mirror for a while, but now I like the result very much, and I'm getting a lot of attention from ppl I don't even know (which I still have to get used to)...
...The right side of my face is still numb as is my bottom lip, but I can live with that. It just feels like a scar.
-Oh and getting rid of those stitches on the inside of the upper lip right under the nose...OUCH! -Did you also have a tear running down your cheeks for each of those? -It really made me feel like a crybaby!
I went back to work after 6 weeks and still found it very hard and I got tired very easy. I got very sick and had to take 2 more weeks off a month after going back to work. My work is very phisical.
I had the same experience with seeing my self and the other things you brought up as well. Its nice to have it done and over with.
Oh My God Kev! You look so different...wow!! You're looking great. It really made a huge difference; you're even talking much better now. Congrats, I'm so happy for you!

Sorry to hear that it went so bad. I hope all is well now.
They only put a breathing tube down my nose and I had no problem with that although my nose was full of blood for weeks after.
How is the recovery going for you?
Any way take care.
