  • Francesco (musiclover63) on died December 8 2009

  • well done! you've helped me with a form and analysis of this piece. thank you!

  • Brilliant , just brilliant...

    thank you

  • wonderful....

  • I WANT A HARPSICHORD!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.....

Wonderful playing by the way, I'm learning this at the moment. :D

  • brilliant!

  • I'm using this for my AS recital in about a week. I'm playing the left hand part on guitar. I need one of my four pieces to reflect Baroque so this is the one.

I've been using this to practice with because I can't find another copy of it anywhere, so thanks :)

  • Of the Two-Part Inventions, this one in A major is my favorite, your tempo is absolutely perfect!! To many times I hear performers use a rather fast tempo, that ruins the whole piece. Thank you so much!!

  • I wish my left hand were dexterous enough to play those trills. You make it looks so easy!

  • is the coupling system the same on a pipe organ? u play the harpsichord vry well!!

  • Yes and No. The coupling system, in a mechanic organ, is made ... mechanically so that pressing a key make the relative one pressed too. But the way this is accomplished is different.

  • A fine interpretation! Folks, you should also check out his performance of the WTC Bk 1 D major prelude and fugue: like this it's very well thought out and quite individual. Musiclover63, who built your instrument?

  • My instrument was built by a very friend of mine, William Horn. Check his site for details. It's a GREAT instrument, believe me!

  • a friend made dis :P ? not bad friend haha :) but anyways very nice played I love it and most people do here :) very nice sir !

  • nice piano... white keys r black... black keys vice versa... NICE

  • Is this a Coupled Harsichord?

How does the upper manual sync with the one he's playing?

  • Yes, the keyboards are coupled. It is a mechanical coupling system, it is the same on all harpsichord. To couple/decouple the keyboards you have to push/pull the lower keyboard back and forth

  • its a faithful copy of the 18th century original, all electronic/electromagnetic coupling ;-)

More seriously there are coupler dogs on the hidden part f the lower keyboard, when pushing the upper it engages on the dogs and gets coupled; when pulled it is independent. This is but one of the three common coupling systems (aka French coupler), usually the German used a dogleg system on the jacks and the English a balance coupler (pedal-controlled) + dogleg combination.

  • Unfortunately the harpsichord does not make loud or soft. There's no DYNAMICS

  • That is not so unfortunate. It's a HARPSICHORD

  • Gorgeous music. I love the harpsichord, too. Is it yours? What make is it?

  • yessssssssssss

  • Nice musical phrases, very clear. Bravo!

  • Awesome

  • well played dude
