@krazedgas Backup: Ball hooks the opposite way a bowler's hand usually would hook, so right-handed, hook to right instead of left. Go to my channel to see my attempt (you see the ball only) to convert that way, as well as another video showing the similar 2-7-8-10 being left and attempted.
@Ajogamer I know that. Light hit meaning the ball hits way behind the head pin. You can leave a 2-8-10 with a sharp breaking ball if it hit far enough behind the head pin. In fact its the sharp breaking ball with revs that causes the 2-8-10 because a smooth breaking ball with lower revs hitting behind the head pin leaves the bucket. (2-4-5-8)
Much like disoneguy, I've picked up this split 3 times in my life, and each way was different. The first time I hit the left side of the 2-8 and the ball cut the 8 really thin and slid it across into the 10. The second time at another bowling center I hit the two on the left and it ricocheted off the sidewall to pop the 10 into the 8, and the last time was just like in this video. But it is really all luck to pick this nasty split, just throw hard and hope. (Unless you have sharp backup ball)
i try not to leave the 2-8-10 so I don't have to worry about converting it... but this was a really cool shot dude, and very neat that you were taping it. I've only made this once, but not like this.
I just did this tonight. Just like this, kicked the 2 off the wall, into the 8, 8 toppled into the 10. Awesome shot. Wish I had mine on tape!! Nice spare dude! I've been close before by hitting the 2-8 head on and having the 8 bounce from the back, but it went right in front of the 10 and missed.
I've picked this up a few times, but the first four times I did it:
1. Hit head on to the 2-8 spare, and one of the pins ricochet from the pit to tomahawk to the ten.
2. Just like the video, hit the 2 into the left wall, collide into the 8, but my 8 rolled very slowly and softly into the 10 to barely knock it over. The most dramatic of shots.
3. The sort of conventional way, hit the 2 into the 10, and the 10 ran into the 8.
4. Tried a back-up ball, and same thing as method 3.
lol my friend hit this one night at practice omg it was great....hard and straight at the 2...ball drifted off toward the 7-pin side and kicked the 2 off the wall into the 10 which fell, like yours into the 8...lol
I always throw a backup ball at this one...never picked it up, I've had the 2-8 split around the 10 though, the 2 went in front of the 10 and the 8 went behind it. I was pissed.
Two ways of doing it. You can also try to kick the 2 into the wall and then send the 10 into the 8, but that's less advised because you are pretty much guaranteed you will not get at least 2 if you are slightly off.
its the only may ive ever seen it made in person, but the best odds are to blast it hard in the front left, so that the 2 hits the 8 and flys to the right in hopes of a bounce into the ten
Ha ha why do you assume people are lying? I've only been bowling for less then 2 years and i've had this shot quite a few times, made it once this way, and twice by nipping the back pin and sliding it over somehow(that's the best way i think). But i have missed it more times then I can remember as well. Very often only hit the 2 pin and just miss trying to nip the back one with a little too much hook.
Well, maybe you have made it, but you know, the odds of the average bowler making this are virtually none. Maybe your are a seasoned veteran who plays a lot, I don't know that. I'm just saying, when 5 people out of 13 comments say they make it, thats hard to believe.
I've never seen it made like that either, that was pretty cool. I've made it the way tsman described it and also shooting the 2-10 and having the 2 come off the wall to get the 8. Guess there's a lot of ways to convert this split and they all involve a lot of luck.
Awesome! I made it once by throwing plastic straight at the 2-8 from the left side of the lane and one of them popped out of the pit and hit the 10. I've never seen it made like that... very nice!
I just take my 9 and sit down
pumazpawz 4 months ago
2-4-8-10 is my best of those and I threw a backup ball with my plastic ball just joking around and got it.
ZeroTuck 6 months ago
I've made it bouncing the 2 into the left and right wall on separate occasions...they say it's more impossible than the 7-10...

Did the same thing as dannelunka, nailed the 2 which bounced to the right of the 10, 10 tilted and hit the 8.

I rarely leave that behind. Whenever it does happen, the results are not pretty.

i just picked this up tonight, i hit the 8 off the back wall and it came back and hit the ten from behind.

@hurricoaster
you wouldn't leave that split if ur a lefty it would be the 6 9 7...
spartanfan307 2 years ago
ive left that... and im lefty i hit it way too high with out curve
MrWweman2009 2 years ago
I'm left handed, it would be easy
Hurricoaster 2 years ago
When I hit light i leave the 2-8-10 a lot because i got lots of revs and a sharp breaking strike ball.
Astromchaser 2 years ago
2-8-10 is left by a light hit...not a strong hit...

wouldn't it be safer to throw a back-up ball at it?

that is awesome! I always thought that it was impossible unless the bowler was a lefty.. I'll have to try that sometime

Is that a joke? or is that the real way to take 2 8 10 for a right handed?

Or you can hit the 2 8 dead on with a lot of speed and the 2 sometimes bounces out to take the 10 pin out.

I switch hand everytime i get the 2-8-10 split. So it´s not much harder to convert, than for a right handed to spare 3-7-9..
I´m a quite ok lefty bowler. With an average of around 190.
average 214 with my right hand.
MccPercy 3 years ago
how did you end u[ with 2-8-10 in the first place

i honestly think that this is harder to make then the 7-10

you gotta love that!! The last time i converted it i threw the 2 pin at the 10 pin and it came off the right kickback to get the 8!!!

I've seen people almost make it that way, but never seen it actually done that way. Good job. =)
I made it twice, by hitting the 2-8 full-on and having one of them bounce up and get the ten.
