inPrivate is more powerful! Blocks cookies and also any kind of information about your PC!
The websites you visit may still have records of your visit when using incognito. Cookies are stored temporarily on your PC! They are deleted when session is terminated but still..
Yes it is VERY fast although if you do not want to install it then Google the words "Google Chrome Portable"....that way you do not need to install it....just, run it!
Just a quick correction from a TU Staff Member on the Incognito window: It actually only stops the acceptance of cookies and does not record browsing history. Sites can still see your information.
Opera I believe came out with the tabs on top first, they deserve the credit.
Also, when you click view source, it shows the source code of the page you're visiting (which i don't even think is open source, it's most of the times copyrighted). I don't think it has anything to do with Chrome being open source. All the other browsers, including the non-open source ones show the source code of the pages you visit.
Other than that, it's a damn good review. Keep it up!
Great job presenting, but I got a little dizzy watching it on the big screen. Also, you missed one of my favorite features. If you were to search for something while you were at Amazon, you could then start typing Amazon's URL in the address bar, but hit tab instead of Enter and then immediately enter a search phrase to execute before going to the site. Also, you probably know by now that you were way off on View Source. Nice try, though, and good job overall.
Good work Google! I'll keep FF, but just as a backup. Chrome will now be my default. So fast, less prone to crashing - and even if there is a crash u can just close that tab rather than the browser - what we've always wanted! Looks cool - and address bar search is awesome. Happy camper all round :)
Nice video! Might get this, hoping it's got a Mac release.
Just to let you know the 'view source' shows the HTML of that webpage/site and not the source for Google Chrome. If you knew that already, sorry to offend you with the obvious.
Incredible overview. I use a Mac, so I'm stuck waiting for a bit, but your video answered a lot of questions I had, while leaving me salivating pixels. It was concise and eloquent. You've raised the bar. Thank you.
Here at TU, all of our Screencasts are recorded with either Camtasia Studio (More recent videos) or Camstudio. The Mac tutorials which will be posted in the future are all recorded with Screenflow or iShowU.
If you'd like to find out more, feel free to direct message CompHelperKid or myself.

the reason why it is fast is because hardly anyone is using it yet so google dont get all the bandwith taken

Browsers don't use the designers servers to run so that makes no difference. I'm still unsure about google chrome mind.

Just a small correction.
In Incognito mode is not that Google can't see what you're doing, but the Browser itself won't keep track on your surfings.
It's not a big mistake though, but a little better articulated. :)

Hey nice review, I was unsure before about downloading this browser but i think i'm going to get it now :) thanks

What about the home button? How are you supposed to get to the home page in this browser?
Zulnic 3 years ago 2
I would have thought (Alt + M) - all the other windows shortcuts are used in Chrome so I presume this one is too...
joshplant56 3 years ago
You can add the home button in settings...

ok, thanks, but I'm having a little trouble finding it.

Google chrome looks like a very slick, clean and simple browser!
Looks cool but doesn't beat Firefox 3 with it's extensions

this guy doesn't know anything about coding. It's open source because it has a "View Source" option? haha

View Source is the source of the page - not the source of the browser!
You have this feature in every browser and it has nothing to do with chrome being open source

"view source", hahaha funny cunt. if you're gonna review and demo something, you should actually use it first :) you did well, none the less.
