Vanille's death is not a cheat on neochu, as he's one of many cheat charters in the game. Death on him for a quick and easy kill, and that's a legit tactic in my book against this thing.

I finished this bastard 1.24min using Sazh,Fang,Light with 1st optima using syn/sen/medic or syn/sab/sen once cold blooded from sazh is connect to staggering and just change to com/com/com and finished this bastard but you must equip all characters with sprint shoes, give light 1 weirding gloves others fill with power gloves and fang fill all slot with power gloves/warriors wristband & b4 enter the battle I recommended using fortisol & aegisol. Note-if ochu not stag in 3 trials just retry

@ZWraiths use your qucik stagger weapons mate it does work, just read azaweskrus comment down below, and put all the accessories that help quick stagger, because if you dont beat him 5stars you will just have to face him again if you are going for the trophy/achievement, after i beat him i thought the hardships were over, but wait till you see the next 2 missions after him lol man make sure you get 5stars on them the first time coz you dont want to fight them again.

I just 5 stared this mission in 2 minutes without using a veil or Vanille's Death. I used Light/Fang/Hope. Started off with COM/SEN/MED and switched between that and COM/SEN/RAV. I equiped the characters with speed sashes and it got an instant stagger about a minute into the battle. Once in stagger I switched to COM/COM/SYN for haste and then switched to COM/COM/RAV and it died.
@whatisaname Thanks pal. I copied your strat'y with same chars with 14k health approx. 2 sashes on Lightning and stagger within 30 secs. Won a few seconds after. 5 stars. Cheers. (tried about 15 times before that)
I DID IT!!! Basically Lucked out, I tried Like 20 times, But the whole Speed Sash Thing WORKS WONDERS!!! Basically Start out With A SEN, and quickly switch to COM or RAV/COM or RAV/MED... and attack it relentlessly, Hopefully You get a INSTANt StAgger, If not then Switch to MED/SEN/MED Cure ur self then go back to Attacking it relentlessly until a Miracle Insta Stag, Then Attack it COM/COM/COM... If all ur party is still alive, dont stop to heal, JUST ATTACK TILL ITS DEAD!!!

ive tried to kill this thing a million times with death everytime it failed! i had snow vanille and hope snow as sentinel hope as medic and vanille as saboteur i have 20,000 hp with all charcters ish and i spent about half an hour casting death and nothing the closest ive ever got to beating it was com/sent/med with lightning snow and hope but those little walking furry testcle killed me (wankers) this is on the xbox and from the uk so maybe its different on ps3 or in the usa, hope it helps!
@joeandseph. just keep casting death dude, i've just killed this guy (on my xbox, also from uk) i had vanille (sab) lightning (med) and sazh (syn). Also, after trying a billion times and not suceeding, i upgraded vanille's beladonna wand to a lv35 marbora wand and it worked pretty soon after that. hope that helps.

the death ability is a 1% chance if you equip a belladona wand it helps or its upgraded version which is better suited for any situation with vanilles sab. the marlboro wand not sure what the % goes up to but it helps alot
Like ARichards said..just keep spamming it with death..the highest hp in my party was about 10k (Snow) I tried fighting it the normal way but I failed after 3 tries.Then I used the death strategy and it worked the first time ^^
I kept hitting him with death. Eventually he got the hint. I let hope keep us healed and Snow helped keep the damage low. I beat him in 1:47 five stars.
@TheManLord item that has a slim chance of getting you quick stagger, not sure what mission you get it from, i think it was gigantuar but i don't know what it's called.
Couldn't get Death to work, couldn't consistently survive Screech (even with 4x 25% physical resist + Protect), but this worked! I had to get an Imperil in there because my guys aren't as buffed as yours, I barely killed him with a Smite at the end of his Stagger.
To get Random Instant Chain you need to equip a speed and energy sash on someone attacking. I used Vanille/Hope/Light and equiped Light with the two items and had Vanille use her Death. That way you improve your chances.
Spamming death with Vanille also works! The way I did it was I equipped her with all the + HP things I had. I brought in Snow Sazh and Vanille. (Snow- Sentinel Sazh- Syn Vanille- Sab) when he uses screech switch to (Snow- sen Sazh-Med Vanille- Med)

Its a synthesized ability from equipping 2 certain accessories . Just equip any combination of speed sash and energy sash and you should see the ability in the list
@LostReclaimer I checked it now. Light just needs one of them to have Random Instant Chain, while Vanille needs the combination of both. If only I knew this before.. Great finding.
I just killed it in 7 seconds with single "death", how lucky is that :D

If you don't use death on Neochu, then good luck on killing him because you're not going to get 5star. I'm 100% sure of it.

I just 5 stared this mission in 2 minutes without using a veil or Vanille's Death. I used Light/Fang/Hope. Started off with COM/SEN/MED and switched between that and COM/SEN/RAV. I beat him using this strategy:
Characters used: Vanille, Hope, Snow
Accessories: I used nothing but health bangles!
Paradigm used: sab,med,sen
Shrouds used before battle: Aerosil and Fortisol
My hp is no higher than 11,000

Place the sashes on the COM. Use prefight Shrouds.. Fortisol.. etc..
1st SEN is what you control, use mediguard until staggered.
2nd SEN is to keep aggro off of COM
COM is hitting him just to randomize the stagger up.
(keep everyone alive by using phoenix down)
Once stagger hits, switch to COM COM COM and watch the hp fly away!
