  • 1 : Bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki

    2: Collecting Japanese Skulls

3: NASA hiring Nazi scientists in exchange for pardons

And that was just one war. Join us next week for another action-packed AMERICAN WAR CRIMES! (catchy themetune)

  • The Manhattan Projet is no a wonder

  • This video always makes me incredibly sad, if only for the Japanese who must've suffered horribly at the hands of this weapon. Going about their normal business in the city when all of a sudden this big plane comes and drops a fireball that devours all.

  • @KrakenRouge conventional bombings in Japan caused more casualties than both the nuclear bombs combined. Really the fault is not nuclear weapons, but the idea of Total War where nations hold their population, innocent civilians, ransom for the war cause.

  • @blahinthe well yes, but two nukes versus hundreds of thousands of normal bombs. However, I agree with you - total war is pointless and stupid.

  • Civ 2 had the best wonder videos by far.

  • @CustomMemoriesDemos It was the best in the series, barely above SMAC. Civ4 is quite good, but didn't reach the perfection of Civ2.

Take this video for example. It transmits the horror of the Bomb just as well as a 30 minute documentary on it.

  • 0:07 Cue Indiana Jones jumping into the fridge

  • ROFL at the fool soldiers mindlessly obeying orders and walking into the radiation!

  • @stonem001 Cant wait until scientist will proove that mobile phones cause brain cancers. Then all future generations can hold you as a fool who ''mindlessly used cellphones''

  • you're a troop of idiots

  • Those poor bastards...and you know that the scientists had at least some idea of what was going to happen to those soldiers, but they let it happen anyway, to see the effect...

  • @HerrMorbitzer i have(i'm kinda a fanatic) owning 1 2 3 nv and tactics, they are great games but its so unlikely it would happen for one reason, greed. Nukes would be used if there was something to gain, but there isn't all you get is total destruction and that is a diterent so you'd loose every thing

  • @HerrMorbitzer how can you ban nukes? no one has the authority to do so, as none without nukes can force disarmamet so the only way is to have some nukes to force peole to which would be pointless, also its the greatest deterent to war america china and russia would be killing each other if there wern't any nukes

  • Nuke 'em......LET´S NUKE THE BASTARDS!!!!!!!

  • AI sends 10 nukes to your capital for the lulz

  • Those guys walking around must have been scared shitless

  • one thing, which has never had to be invented!

  • this "wonder" should stay a wonder and not be used in any sort of way

  • Pretty useless.. anyways, good video

  • I only built this once... to see the video.

  • at the times of the nuclear bomb tests, they didn't know anything about radiation sickness as we do today.

  • @5ick1ntheH3AD actually at one point of time they that that radiated water was good for you!

  • what? were these soldiers ordered to march toward the explosion? wouldn't that kill them all?

  • I don't want to set the world on fire

  • @PICCOLOstalin I also don't want to release raiders, mutated shit, and deathclaws in the world either...

  • What a "wonder"... I hated it when the game came to its end and the world was all ugly or "modern". I love the beginning of the game best!

  • oh man i have not seen this video in forever. i want to play civ 2 now

  • I read a life experience about how a couple watched a nuclear explosion back in Nevada during testing then slowly died of radiation sickness. Wonder if all of these people had the same fate.

  • well i dont know like it matters from the level of radiation they obsorbed but ya most people either die slowly from radiation or stay alive and get some diseases like cancer due to the radiation sad and cruel fate very sad...

  • i never bother with this wonder, as soon as you get it you end up getting raped by all other civs because of mega angry AI.

nice upload though and good game.

  • When they say 'Allows construction of nuclear weapons' , why bother with it at all? May as well let some other Civ develop it , and then build nuclear weapons.

  • I suppose it's for a player who sees a valuable nuking opportunity coming up and wants to make certain that nuclear weapons have entered the playing field by a certain date. In my last game of Civ I I needed to remove a large warmongering power, couldn't invade by conventional weapons, and didn't dare to sit back and wait while it researched better defenses.

  • "allows construction of nuclear weapons.." WTF!!

  • NIce music, 50´s rock...

  • @andreshawk13 It was by Morphine, in the 90s

  • @gilmae Lol, but, it looks like...

  • Just let the CPU players make it, there's no advantage in constructing it yourself.

  • Manhattan project is best project.

  • Really sad that there are so many nuclear weapons given the amount of damage they do...

  • Morons they will get killed by the radiation

  • @jangofett12321 Pshh! They can just use Radaway! Duh! Gosh! This is why Fallout 3 exists, to educate us....XD

  • @Left4Epic Yep, just like it educates us that ants get bigger and people tun into zombies when exposed to radiation ;)

  • @jangofett12321 Remember this was the first time they'd conducted a nuclear test so they probably weren't even aware of the radiation.

  • @jangofett12321: Those times almost no one knows this for sure. And those who knows... I don't think they ever cared.

  • @jangofett12321

they were doing a "weapons familiarization drill". This was back in the 50's when the (long term) effects of radiation sickness weren't understood. Hell, doctors were only just making the connection between smoking and cancer at the time. The reason behind the drills was that nuclear weapons were intended (by both sides) to be used as freely as conventional artillery.

  • @jangofett12321 Take into consideration that during this time nuclear fission is a new technology. No one knew about the long term effects, only the ridiculous amount of power which can be used to destroy or harness as usable energy

  • Awesome music! And for the peacemaker itself

  • It pains me to watch them unknowingly exposed.

  • some1 nuked the fridge!

  • YOU'RE IN TROUBLE NOW, BOYS

  • What I never understood is that if you nuked a city with a missle, everyones cool (except maybe the guy who got nuked) with it. But if you use a spy to nuke a city (and she gets caught) suddenly, all the nations of the world are upon you.

  • Actually nuking ruins your reputation ingame.

  • I always tried to be the first to get this wonder because the CPU players were all just crazy enough to use the things. You'd better believe the very next thing I was researching was SDI.

Nukes in Civ II are too much trouble to clean up and rebuild from, and the city it hits never really is the same again.

  • well... thats basically how it should be.. a nuke could wipe out a whole city and the fallout would be a pain in the arse for years..

  • I ALWAYS make SURE ALL my CITIES have SDI before ANYONE researches this. ABSOLUTELY NOWAY anyone's GONNA RUIN my BEAUTIFUL CITIES with a NUKE LOL.

  • Some Spies -> Destroy SDI Defemce -> Destroy that thing that stops air attacks -> Uh oh XD

  • It's easier to just have the spy detonate the nuclear weapon.

  • No idea what song this is???

  • I wish I knew the name of the song too. I actually wrote the customer service dept at the publisher a long time ago. They weren't sure because the person in charge of the music wasn't working there anymore.

  • I would like to know it too!

  • According to Wikipedia (which I don't often use as its wrong a lot and I just don't like it anyway..)

They say its either "Bo's Veranda" or "I Had My Chance by Morphine" as the song used.

  • You rock!!! Thanks, it was "I had my chance". I couldn't find it on Wikipedia. Thanks again.

  • The song is pretty happy for such a diabolic project.

  • I actually think it's appropriate considering they're playing the blues :)

  • Douchebag

  • This video was great, the feeling of unesiness is so well transmitted that you feel that you are not only risking other civs buliding Nukes, but you can imagine being the people in power back then and thinking "What have I just done?"

  • @smismo Absolutely right. In fact, one of the observers of the first nuclear test is quoted as saying, "Now we're all sons of bitches."

  • @smismo Yeah...but the wonder points are cool :)

  • What song is this???

  • yup

  • i always did like this one best :D

  • aw, i always liked the seti program -- free research labs!

  • definitely the coolest wonder
