Wow, I would never have figure out the transformation without your walkthrough. He is a FINICKY transformation. I'm not a fan of the way parts simply lay on top of eack other and fold in just so. He is a pain in the butt to get right the first time. I also have paint chipping on the painted part just behind the engine.

@jerman2003 I'm glad I could help! I promise the more you transform him the easier it will get, and the TRU version seems to fit together nicer than V1 Takara version did.. You couldn't get that thing to roll if you tried! I think the american release has too thick of paint on the hood piece since my V2 (and V1 from what I can remember) takara version doesn't have paint chipping there. It feels and looks thinner.

@T2rx6 Yes, the paint is much too thick and is flaking off my figure. I got him right before xmas for 69.99 Canadian. Wouldn't you know it, he went for 41.99 on boxing day (dec. 26). He's sold out everywhere now, glad I got him when I did because I think the TRU exclusive is over. I'm going to pick up some nail polish and try painting some of the pegs so he'll hold better in robot mode. His backpack seems to barely hang on.

@jerman2003 It's a good reason to keep receipts to get price adjustments when things go on sale like that! :)

Good luck with the nail polish, let me know how it works for you. You may need a few coats.. Paint it on, let it dry... Paint it on, let it dry. Good luck!

@TransformersFan5000 this is the toys r us edition.. to not make it $150 or more in the us the trailer was lost, hence why we got him for the $60 price point.

@jerman2003 Yeah Megatron is the original Targetmaster!  I will be checking 6:40 now.. I know I am not the bearer of the matrix, so I'm not surprised Optimus is annoyed.

He is a little top heavy and a figure this fragile don't want him to topple over.

@johnnydarkling2008 It's all about how you have the ankle joints positioned. If you get them into the right position he won't topple over (he was still standing on my shelf after the earthquake we had in august, and I'm 3 hours from richmond, Va where it hit.. so we were close). Just make sure you have those ankles extended out properly so it balances the weight on the foot better.

have you had any issues with breakage on either version of this guy where his foot attaches to his ankle? ive had two hasbro ones and they have BOTH broken at that spot. the foot fell completely off from the foot pivot/foot connection. im really hesitant to return it for another one if its going to be an issue, id rather just have my money back then risk breakages to weak points on the figure =/

the takara version look much better have much paint job and look more cartoon accurate , i dont liked hasbro version need more paint job and is not cartoon accurate liked takara version.

@TheNinoslow I like the Hasbro version as hotrod, and the takara version as rodimus (which is my plan when I get my tak version back). I do agree the paint is better on the Takara version. That being said the hasbro version's silver/grey plastic looks more robotic than the white plastic of the Takara version (I don't like that).. And it's well worth the $60 he costs if you can't afford the Takara version.

Nice man..I didnt think you found it so fast. I just found 2 at TRU for $48.97 each..I was shocked. Sick review man. Helpful tid bits of info. LOL..I can't tell you how many times I touched my chest with my crotch..lol boy those where the days..hahaha Looking at the bac of the car mode I crave a burger..lol Transformation seems decent. @T2rx6 I figured out that Offshoot can fit on Hot Rod in car mode. Flip the engine block up..you will see a hinge and it flips up. The stumpier handle on Offshooot should port in there nicely. :)

Now that you mention it that Target master does have very megatron like legs.  I don't believe it's a reuse, but i'm going to have to pull out my megatron to find out.. Let me go do that!

@mantis999999999 Nope. Legends Megatron actually has legs that are longer by 1/2 to 1 mm. And the molding is entirely different. Megs are more angled where as the target master is a bit more squared. Interesting observation however.

My paint was chipped in that area of rodimus as well.

with the Targetmaster, in vehicle mode, you have to use the back handle ( behind the head ) and rest it in there and if you manage to do it right it will stay when you flip it upside down. Kool beans on some of the fixes, and sux about the paint chipping out the box ( mine was fine) .

@T2rx6 you are welcome...I figured it out while shooting my own vid for this....I had to examine the box very carefully and realised it was sitting to low to be on the first post :) and you are welcome and thanks for all the tips in this vid

@islipcocoliso I will have to take a look at that box! As for the tips, it was the least I could do since I figured out how to fix the stuff I COULD fix (Aside from that back grey clip that was a new thought) on the JP version prior to having to send it back. :)
