It sounds like a 80's suburban with glasspacks and a 350.... The nice thing about the 2500 trucks is they have factory dual exhaust to the muffler, all u need is a DI/DO muffler with a built in 'x' pipe and that thing would sound great. Chopping the muffler off only causes u to loose low end torque and it sounds bad.
K that is true cause there chambered. But one... the flowmaster outlaw is a straight through " muffler" so it flows really good. no ceramic glass packing in it.

Up here we have a sticky clay, ive seen 44 inch Boggers become slicks, the only way to really get through it even if its 2 inches deep is to get your tires to spinn as fast as you can, once you slow down and sink your pretty much fucked. usually when a big gas engine comes out it directed more towards the off-road type of people. @JakeWeb93 the 6.7 came out in 07 and has 80 percent of th same parts as the 5.9 cummins tested it for several years before it came out no they dont have the rep that a 5.9 does but the 5.9 didnt have a rep when it appeared in the 80s but overall its still a cummins
these are 496 vortec motors. Old 454 blocks with new generation tech on them and diferent srtoke. made them from 01 to just a few months ago they discontinued them. They were avaliable in 2500, 3500, and kodiack sized truck from 01 t0 07
true duals when properly tuned (exhaust pipe diameter, length, etc) is much better for all out HP, but a crossover is much better balanced for more torque.
it's better for the scavenging effect which in turn makes more power. but both true duals and duals w/crossovers have their benefits.
wow this thing sounds amazing, IMO i would rather have a 8.1 vortec over the duramax but thats just me, can't beat the sound of a big block including through a pair of headers. shame though GM quit maing this engine though.
im gettin pacesetter longtube headers with high flow cats with cherry bomb extreme single chamber to 4 in tips.. im gonna love it.. theyre gonna be true duals with 2.25 pipin by the way.. not sure if i want a cross over or not tho..
What people call backpressure gets confused with exhaust velocity. backpressure is bad, velocity is good. When you take off the mufflers it makes the exhaust less restrictive so you lose backpressure which is bad. If you had too big of pipes like 3.5" duals then your exhaust wouldnt move as fast, thus losing velocity, which is good. Hope that helped. Its no easy to explain

@cnocher02 if the 8.1 was really mean they would use it in big rigs...... they use diesel engines.. mainly a 6.7L cummins

@cnocher02 big blocks arent what they use to be, they also claim those v10s where the shiz when they 1st came out... a few guys got em and tried to run with a diesel and traded shortly after

@fireman549549 Because they get they're power at low RPM, they cant rev well either. Up here we have a sticky clay, ive seen 44 inch Boggers become slicks, the only way to really get through it even if its 2 inches deep is to get your tires to spinn as fast as you can, once you slow down and sink your pretty much fucked. usually when a big gas engine comes out it directed more towards the off-road type of people. I love diesels but they dont make the best off-road trucks.

@fireman549549 And the 6.7 Cummins just came out in like 2008 so you really cant judge them just yet, they havent been out long enough to label them with a good engine reputation yet like the 5.9 Cummins. (that must be a big ass piston because an inline six with 6.7 litres, Damn thats big.

@JakeWeb93 the 6.7 came out in 07 and has 80 percent of th same parts as the 5.9 cummins tested it for several years before it came out no they dont have the rep that a 5.9 does but the 5.9 didnt have a rep when it appeared in the 80s but overall its still a cummins

these are 496 vortec motors. Old 454 blocks with new generation tech on them and diferent srtoke. made them from 01 to just a few months ago they discontinued them. They were avaliable in 2500, 3500, and kodiack sized truck from 01 t0 07

yep, if you run true duals you need a crossover if you don't want one then you don't know anything about exhaust systems

true duals when properly tuned (exhaust pipe diameter, length, etc) is much better for all out HP, but a crossover is much better balanced for more torque.
it's better for the scavenging effect which in turn makes more power. but both true duals and duals w/crossovers have their benefits.

wow this thing sounds amazing, IMO i would rather have a 8.1 vortec over the duramax but thats just me, can't beat the sound of a big block including through a pair of headers. shame though GM quit maing this engine though.

What people call backpressure gets confused with exhaust velocity. backpressure is bad, velocity is good. When you take off the mufflers it makes the exhaust less restrictive so you lose backpressure which is bad. If you had too big of pipes like 3.5" duals then your exhaust wouldnt move as fast, thus losing velocity, which is good. Hope that helped. Its no easy to explain
