Bren Gun best light machine gun of WW2? The MG42 outclassed all allied machine guns. Most if not all machine guns today are based off MG42 in some way.
@OzzyFan87 german army still uses the exact designe of the mg 42 today, its just got a diffrent caliber and fire rate, hell even the M60 was based off of the mg42
I dont see why the thompson was the best smg, the ppsch 41 the russians used had a 71 round capacity and was lower profile for firing prone, also the thompson was unbearably heavy
@HoustonGD Agreed - in realistic war-games like Medal of Honour and Call of Duty it never seems to be able to stay accurate for more than 3-round bursts...
ppsch is a very good weapon,very Russ,simple dependable.Thompson is not a simple weapon,and it's heavy,but again 45 cal is big slow[subsonic]round.powerful up close,stop a banzi japanese,something the 9mm might not do
The narrator calls the WW2 version of the SMLE (Short Magazine Lee Enfield) the "Mark V". Nope. The Mk.V was a transitional trail version tested in the 1920's. The models primarily used in WW2 were the MKIII, the Mk. III* and the No.4 Mk1 and Mk1*. The No.5 MK.1 was the limited issue "jungle carbine".
A small error, but important to all of us Enfield Nuts out there :)
LIAM NEESON!?!?!?! :D the narrator sounds like liam neeson

@fuggsakes I have shot a Thompson and its like shooting a jack hammer. I enjoyed it very much but the gun seems unstable

@HoustonGD I found the old Sten SMG to be much the same, if not worse, it was a very rattly thing when not fired from the shoulder.

Funny how in the movies they make it's handling resemble that of a BB gun. Ever see wind talkers?

45 cal is a big round, ugly up close

@bv141a ive read the thompson had 50m range whereas the mp-40 had 100m must be because of the 8mms higher velocity
