My tastes lean more toward the guitar oriented songs of the Beatles. Having said that this song is a billion times better than Hey Jude which I find annoying and extremly overplayed. As long as I live I will never understand why Hey Jude is so freakin' popular. Even in terms of their piano songs this and Let It Be are better.

This version is worlds better than that put together by Phil Spector. He added all of the strings and made it such a production....Paul was understandably furious---this version is so transparent and elemental. Beautiful. Perfect arrangement.

I'm sorry. I should have said Paul was the first to announce it to the public. John did tell the group but Paul told the media first. I remember it anyway. All 4 agreed to split. George was growing more and more resentful of his music not getting the credit for his accomplishments and Ringo didn't think they thought he was all that important as the rest of the band members.
