By the Way, the 'Local' Announcer, a older fella in his sixties is none other than Peter Fernandez, the voice actor who did most of the male voices(including Speed & Rex) in the U.S show. I may be wrong, but I read eons ago that Fernandez also wrote the American version song(making it shorter for American commercial timing), as well as being the lead singer along with a studio singer a production staffer & his secretary! Cartoon song history!

I watched it again on DVD and desided I loved it(thanks to slo-mo). the Sprital & Chim Chim actors almost stole the movie & yes I agree that Trixie was smokin'. As for Racers X' secret connection to U-know-who(Spoiler!!), I like the way it was left it ambiguous. But for the record, Rex Racer IS Speed's brother in the show. Those 'jump-jacks' worked so conveniantly! I'd like to imagine that the un-usual peddle array's in the Racer car's were connected to the J-J's for various stunt manuvers.

I have mixed(No pun intended) feelings about Rap in songs due to the Fact that Rap as an art-form unto itself SUX! But I like it as flavoring in some modern songs. This mix was super-cool-fu-manchu! I've heard the Japanese translation of the opening song and this mixed version is fun to listen to. As for the Movie; when I left the theater, I was in a daze! That movie was WIERD! The editing was way-out! I later described it to others as Spy-Kids crossed with Fast & the Furious! MORE-->

I love this movie, the visual effects, the story is alike the original speed racer one.But I don ´t like the acting of the Speed actor.

Some scenes he act well, but some other scenes ,like when the car jumps, at it´s landing the actor was still without moving,as that kind of movements needs.

if they were going to make a movie based off the original cartoon then they should have made it a cartoon movie... like the 1980's GI Joe or Transformers cartoon movies. but as a live action movie I'm sorry but I hated it...As it was I wasn't happy with the live action GI Joe or Transformer movies and I grew up and loving the original cartoons.

I think it's more on the audience. Not only was it not as good (for them) as the series, but it also wasn't that favorable within the older audiences. So I guess the reason was, the film is too kiddie, hence why I watch it! It kinda relaxes me after a good night watching Jason kill. Thank you though

this movie was so faithful to the original series style it was just amazing, I remember watching this movie on a theme night "topic: Racing movies" Days of Thunder, Death Race and Speed Racer. And out of all of them Speed Racer was the best movie of the night.
