  • poor jockey,greddy,brainy and smurfette

  • I HATE SONIC

  • it reminds me of ''Discworld II'' the game for the PS1.

  • Why all the games always have a playable random smurf... I WANT TO PLAY AS PAPA SMURF!!!

  • Hey, I remember this intro.... It's the same as the one for the PC game, The Teletransport Smurf, only without the voices.

  • Smeagol14 lol @ your name.

  • what happend to smurfette?

  • Maybe it's not CD-I but i wonder what was reading Papa Smurf. Maybe It's from Gargamel!

Dear pesky smurfs: Azrael and I have taken over the smurf village. Smurfette is now a permanent guest at one of my seven hotels... err house. I dare to find her if you can.

  • how did the smurfs get to gargamel and back to the village that unharmed? i mean if anyone played the sega, snes or gba version you will know that the way to gargamel is dangerous and long as hell

  • Lol,good point, but I think that Smurfs are using longer way, because Smurfs need to rescue Greedy,Jokey and Brainy Smurfs too

  • oh right...YES i remember the village is pretty much next to the cave. just hidden by the clouds

  • lol wtf, smurf don't talk and bounce around like idiots.

  • Why didn't the smurfs talk? Was Don Messick and Paul Winchell unavailable?

  • Maybe they wanted to save the effort of translating their dialog repeatedly.

  • It's alright, I was being sarcastic. Looking back at it, I seem to think it better that they have no dialogue.

  • Got any gameplay footage?

  • i remember the tv episode of that game intro

  • I'm swedish and I have this game. I still play it. BUT the cutscenes are quiet different. The scene sequence starts at Gargamel's place and instead music, it's dubbed and it has realistic sound effects. (The sequence is also much, much longer) Believe it or not, it's been dubbed to swedish! =)

    And the name of the game is different aswell. It's called;

    SWE: "Operation Smurfan"

    (ENG: "Operation Smurfette")

    Weird, huh? :)

  • what does gargamel do to smurfette and why can't i hear the smurfs talk

the smurfs are like swedish people they should learn to english

  • "they should learn to english"

WTF?! I almost can't friggin understand you!

    *Steamloller*

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • after seeing your video I tried that game. After an hour I was ready to punch something. FIrst on level one it took me so long to figure out how to get by the weight bags without taking damage.

And on level 2 I could not get up the tree where the squirrel bombards me with nuts... I kept falling off the fricken leaves !!

the GBA version on youtube looks like it could be better but I hate this game now.

  • lol you're in USA and you have played The Smurfs on the (SNES, genesis and/or Sega cd)! GBA version is easy. I also hate this game (Well just a little).

  • what happend to smurfette her belly was round and fat so im guessing gargemel put somthing in her stomach

  • this is the same game as snes and genesis except with animated cutscenes. and yes...the gba version is easy as hell

  • gargamel looks even more badass here

  • Wow, Infogrames was the gay armadillo company? (I kid, I kid, I'm a lesbian and the rainbow colors made me think of the so-called gay pride rainbow stuff)

Kidding aside, I never knew there was EVER a Smurfs game. And the only person I knew who had SEGA CD system was too much a jerk to let others play, didn't even let people watch him play it.

But now I know what to look for at garage sales, tho

  • Do you know if their is a version than can work on wind.XP ? and where is it if it exsists? I know that there proably isn't a version like that but maybe ? This game has a sentymental value for me :-)

  • Gargamel ROCKS ! Go Evil Wizard !!! >:D

  • looks good for it time and for a 1988 sega

  • 1995 the sega cd did not even come out till 1992

  • I love the Smurfs

  • no hay voces

  • it looks like its pixelated

  • are you retarded or what it is a old game on an even older platform

  • no, i mean the FMVS look like they were drawn on a paint program, like microsoft paint.

  • that's usually because FMVs have a limited color palette (spelling?). it depends on the system the game's made for. on the PC, FMVs use the 256 color palette, on the SEGA CD, i think it uses a different set of colors.

  • Amazing for its time.

  • There's no voices to go with the animation, but then it'd be pretty hard to sell this across Europe if it did.

  • having a full motion video cartoon in a 16 bit plattform was a miracle for that times

    really and incredible experience!!

thank you sega cd you will be always my favorite home video game!!

  • i didnt konw that this game was released on the sega cd ..nice surprise!!

  • WHY?? LOOKING FOR NEW SEGA CD GAMES?

  • Didn't even know this existed! Was it released in the USA?

  • Nope only in EU, but you can download this rom.

You need a Sega CD Emulator to play this!

It's a good game, hard level and bosses.

I will send a message if you want?
