I suppose since i wasn't here until 1971 i have to take your word that the beetles were the "Beginning of rock". But that would be tremendously debated according to your age. My mom grew up in the 50's so Elvis was the beginning. It's all a matter of decade of awareness.
I suppose you are right and I am not going to get into an argument like some people like to do. I just didn't consider Elvis' music rock. He started out singing gospel and blues. I guess maybe I just didn't like his music very much. I grew up in the sixties so I guess it is a matter of opinion and as you said the decade of awareness.
@LADYSAVS1 I realize this is an old post but I had to respond. Do you not realize that ALL rock and much of pop is based on the blues pentatonic scale which is the basis of blues music?. Who do you think all those British musicians were listening to before they formed what is now known as "classic rock" bands? Everyone from the Stones to ACDC were reared on riffs by Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and even Elvis (although Elvis didn't write his own music)
Oh yeah! Chuck Berry! lol I just prefer the Beatles from the 60s. I remember I was really young when they were on the Ed Sullivan show but I was so excited the whole week before they came on! lol I even had the Beatles lunch box. I wish I still had it. That would be worth ALOT of money right now!
Actually it was Rick Allen the drummer dear... The seatbelt tore his arm off..Steve passed away in 1991 from a combo of painkillers and to much drinking..
now...you got that all wrong baby. Joe never been in a car accident, and so was not Steve. Rick Allen crashed his car into a brick wall near Sheffield England. The impact threw him out of car, severing his left arm. This happened in December of 2004.
He didn't hit a brick wall. He just rolled it and his arm got tangled up in the un-fastened seat belt and as he was thrown out the seat belt severed it.
Actually I recently found out that he also broke his left arm also. Can you imagine how he must have felt! But he is back better than ever! Rick Allen ROCKS!!! and well Sav is just the MAN!! The gorgeous Man!!
i've been to 4 def leppard concerts and everytime they end there show joe elliott always says "dont forget us and we wont forget you" its pretty funny and cool
yeah, he has been saying that since like '89...according to my aunt...anyway, i've seen them 21 times in my short 19 years...needless to say, I've been on a few summer roadtrips...lol...I LOVE the lepps! They are sooooo great!!
