Do you always use the chromatic tuner CA-30, or are there any other you can use that are better, or is that one the best(from your opinion)? I used to be able to tune it by listening, but I've totally forgotten that now, so I can't practise. OH NOES!
I need to be atleast a little bit good for when I visit okinawa again or my host father will be dissapointed :'(
And I can't really remember what difference honchoushi etc. makes?
I was wondering how high or low I can tune each sanshin string without breaking or slacking. I was planning on tuning one to "Eb-Ab-Eb;" Is that too high?
@ytcomposer: Highest I usually go up to is C-F-C, although I know that some sanshin players go up to D so Eb shouldn't be a problem. I normally see singers from Yaeyama tuned to D or higher.
Hi there, i am having great difficulty tuning my sanshin. using a chromatic tuning is posing problems. Are there open chords I can tune to? reccomendations?
Thanks! Please make more videos when you can ^_^. If possible, can you please make a video on tying the strings to the big knot at the bottom of the peg?
The bridge of my shamisen came as a separate part. should I fix it on permanently, or just put it in place before each session? Thanks!

@mekkabon the bridge (uma) is a separate part and should be removed from the sanshin after practicing and while in storage.

The shamisen is awsome. But I have to say that I prefer the softer sound of the Okinawan Sanshin.

OMG Your Sanshin does it too! When you tune the Ujiru, it makes this sharp "blade" like sound. I think B-E-B sounds sweeter than C-F-C.

@Chichiri520: Thank you for the comment. :) I think that's a great idea. I'll start working on it.
