  • what the fuck this what are these women doing outside kitchen?

  • Oh my god, only found out that the woman who acts Rosalind is Bryce Dallas Howard who acts Victoria in Twilight :O !! Epic :3

  • TAAAAAAA FUCK 1?

  • Thank you very much for this upload, I appreciate it <3

  • Wow i couldnt find this anywhere ...Thank you soooooo much :D

  • me encanta romola garai...ella es asombrosa en este producción

  • You have saved my life. I have an exam on this for tomorrow and it's the only one I haven't revised. So happy right now.

  • Dude, You saved my life! I have to read it for literature class for tomorrow and it's 9 pm here and I don't even have the text.

  • Is this the whole Act 1 or act one scene 1

  • Ok so white people ruling in China, that totally makes sense WTF

  • @blurtopia I can make sense of it. It wasn't China. It was Japan. The scene takes place in 19th century Japan when Europeans were beginning to do business with Japan so there were Europeans living there for business purposes. The band of Japoanese that attacked these Europeans were most likely trying to drive out foriegn influence from their society which was in Japan a major issue of the time.

  • Thanks for posting this . . . we need this for school!!! Thanks !!!

  • i used one of rosalinds speeches for an audition recently for uni and got it. this has to be my favourite plays by shakespeare!!

  • I never thought I'd see Shakespeare and ninjas juxtaposed, but whatever.

  • Enjoying this tremendously. Finding a high-quality upload of this movie in English was beyond my expectations. Thank you for posting it.

  • Wow, this is a rare and fascinating version. And what acting.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • kudos to Branagh for mixing Shakespeare and martial arts

  • It doesn't seem to be working .

  • ahh a black orlando...i like the mix up

  • ahh my brain hurt, i love it but but so hard to under stand.. for me

  • i have been looking for this forever it is my favorite :) thank you so much

  • In my school we just did our own verision of this play ;) it was alot of fun! :D and i recomend this move! it's good, but our were better! :D

  • @nightfrog9: we're going to do one too :) I'm playing Orlando, though I'm a girl. XD My friend plays Rosalind, so we have lots of fun together. ;)

  • How different is this movie from the written play?

  • hey you just saved my life as I need to watch this urgently for a Shakespeare exam lol...thank you :)

  • @xxstarchildxx

this movie is really different from the actual play so i dont know how much it could really help you bud.

  • This movie means so very much to me. You can find it on amazon for a very reasonable price. I'm so sorry that low-budget films like this is getting posted on youtube. You should all buy it, and support the work of Kenneth Branagh and his great cast.

  • I actually bought it on DVD, but the hardware often plays tricks on me or refuses to work at all, so I'm glad I can watch it here too.

  • Thanks for posting this. I am a big fan of Shakespeare and Kenneth Branagh. Rented this film from the library and loved it. I was hoping that someone would post it here. Much appreciated.

  • Very pretty violin theme.

19th Century Japan is a very odd choice as a setting for this play. I do like it, though. The actor playing Orlando is gorgeous.

The thing that disappoints me the most about this film is how much of Touchstone's lines are omitted.

  • Sorry to ask, but do you still have the file for this? I've been trying to Torrent it for weeks now, and I can't get anywhere with it. D: I wanted to do a term paper on it.

  • Just buy it, man.

  • First of all, I'm -not- a man. Second of all, I'm abroad in Korea; I can't just be like LOL O HEY AMAZON when a) I have to turn this paper in soon and b) I don't actually have a shipping address in Korea that I can use. When I get back to the States I would be more than happy to but until December, I am here.

Don't run your mouth off at people when you don't know the situation.

  • Fair enough. I'm sorry, that my comment made you that agitated. How would i be able to know more of the situation, than what you posted? You see this movie is very important to me, and i think it would be very sad if no backing could be found for making such movies, because of people, who refuse to pay the seven dollars for the dvd. I wish you the best of luck on your paper. I too would very much like to do some work on this play once.

    Best regards.

  • well u have a point i can say from reading ur comment but u must bear in mind that all u said was the person saved ur life and u need it for an exam. so if someone suggests that u just buy it dont be quick to take offense cause they dont know ur in korea or that u can't..

  • I'm not the one who said they needed it for an exam, xxstarchildxx is. I needed it for a term paper, and I think you would do well to mind your own conversations -- especially if you're not sure who has been saying what..

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  • sigh... for HSC studying..

  • me 2, belonging yeah? I hate english

  • Haha, Thanks sooo much for posting this! It really means alot to me so, cheers!
