The pc version is a amazing, and it's a must play on the PC, but the problem is that if your going to play the PC version you must be at least a veteran in the shooter genre. It's not easy and by playing the console version is better suited for people with less skill in the shooting genre. The one reason I wouldn't recommend the PC version to causal gamer's is that near the end you get to fly around in a VTOL. The mission is called ascension, and it will give you the worst time of your life.

And I think playing it on console takes away from part of the experience of playing Crysis.
This was one of my favorite platinums ever. I played it on the hardest difficulty from the start and that is really what made the game fun, the challenge. Having to sneak the whole time was really fun and picking the Koreans apart one by one was entertaining.
Some people need to understand Crytek a bit more. From my experience with the Far Cry series they really don't make new games similar to the old ones. The aliens are different, it's more linear, takes place in a city, and it has totally new characters because Crytek doesn't WANT to make identical games. Doing something different every time makes them interesting to me.
The game's fucking terrible, the guns control like an N64 game, the ragdoll physics and overpowered melee are laughable, the AI is stupid and stands out in the open, the game lacks weapon and enemy variety, and the game itself is just boring and bland. It's just kill run around and kill some enemies. Fucking awful game, I don't get the hype

If the enemy is out in the open, do something stupid to kill it. Disguise as a tree or something.
Also, are you playing on the PC or not? I don't know about Console controls, but on the PC it's fine and works smoothly.
i agree with getting spotted WAYY to easily but this doesn't bother me too much because checkpoints are fairly common and they take like 5 secs to load!
What is this like compared to Crysis 2? I wasn't a big fan of the second because it just simply wasn't that fun but I'm thinking this looks better. I loved Far Cry 2 if that helps :D

I hate when people say Crysis has no replay value, I've gone back and played it several times (on PC) and you can always attack at a different angle with a different attitude each time (slow and stealth, or fast and balls out, left, right, up the middle, water, vehicle, etc.)
Crysis on PC, imo, is one of the best FPS games ever made, and I've played pretty much every significant one since the original Wolfenstein.

I just bought and played this over the course of two days. it was almost worth the price. If you are a fan of crysis its probably better for you. I just went for it out of curiosity. I'm a fairly sub average fps player and I breezed through this on hard.
true stealth seems to be a fairly decadent add on considering its effectiveness, but if you use it like its not 100% reliable then you should be good to go, cause it does make you feel like a badass.
the graphics have been downgraded so up close, you get pixelated fringes on scenery. but tbf they did try to fix this with atmospheric filters that do a good job of tricking the eye. unfortunately the frame rate doesnt translate 100% so it strobes a bit in fast paced action, and will probably flare up any photosensitive epilepsy you may have. also at points the BGM and SFX will just randomly cut for no reason replaced by ambient sounds.

@darbusmaximus Well, there isn't any multiplayer. The campaign, to my mind (from experience), wouldn't be worth repeating. There aren't really any collectibles.
It's just a bare-bones campaign experience that'll end up eating around ~12-ish hours of your time, plus or minus a few. The only "replay value" is in completing it again on a harder difficulty, which is redundant considering the fact that it's actually pretty easy on its absolute hardest. Crysis 2 was as easy on Supersoldier.

I hear a lot of people saying "if it's not on the pc it sucks." I just it for 360 and love it. it's the first game that I got so sucked into 5hrs felt like 5 min. I felt bad for wasting the day a way but it was a blast. so if your on the fence get it I found the graphics to be awesome, the controls tight, AI was good, and you can either bust ass through it or stealth it out. well worth a 20 spot. By I think people will enjoy this even if it's dumbed down, was because of other things then graphics. You aren't a true gamer if you don't look at other aspects to gaming other then graphics.

@DeadheadPsycho Ps3 has its worthwhile and sometimes amazing first party exclusives, PC don't have that many titles to attract, this aint the 90's and early 2000's when PC had the likes of farcry, halflife, battlefield, quake, unreal tournament etc etc...... as first parties
Besides starcraft 2 and sims 3, i don't play on my PC that much.
360 is just a piece of shit, 99% of its games can be accessed on the PC and in better quality.

I just bought and played this over the course of two days. it was almost worth the price. If you are a fan of crysis its probably better for you. I just went for it out of curiosity. I'm a fairly sub average fps player and I breezed through this on hard.
true stealth seems to be a fairly decadent add on considering its effectiveness, but if you use it like its not 100% reliable then you should be good to go, cause it does make you feel like a badass.

the graphics have been downgraded so up close, you get pixelated fringes on scenery. but tbf they did try to fix this with atmospheric filters that do a good job of tricking the eye. unfortunately the frame rate doesnt translate 100% so it strobes a bit in fast paced action, and will probably flare up any photosensitive epilepsy you may have. also at points the BGM and SFX will just randomly cut for no reason replaced by ambient sounds.
-it has no replay value and around 8 hours of content.-

@darbusmaximus Well, there isn't any multiplayer. The campaign, to my mind (from experience), wouldn't be worth repeating. There aren't really any collectibles.
It's just a bare-bones campaign experience that'll end up eating around ~12-ish hours of your time, plus or minus a few. The only "replay value" is in completing it again on a harder difficulty, which is redundant considering the fact that it's actually pretty easy on its absolute hardest. Crysis 2 was as easy on Supersoldier.

Yes. the console version is good but I have a few complaints..
1. Max speed is automatic!? Running to a short distance drains suit energy wtf!! What a waste.
2. Like I said above, max speed is auto, so no normal sprint. Sucks.
3. Walking is SOOOOO slow in this version. It's like you're crouched the whole time. Omg.
4. Can't regenerate energy while in armor mode like the PC version... so yeah.. bummer.
Well these are cons in my opinion anyway. But this game is a great download for 20 bucks!

I hear a lot of people saying "if it's not on the pc it sucks." I just it for 360 and love it. it's the first game that I got so sucked into 5hrs felt like 5 min. I felt bad for wasting the day a way but it was a blast. so if your on the fence get it I found the graphics to be awesome, the controls tight, AI was good, and you can either bust ass through it or stealth it out. well worth a 20 spot. PC fanboys confuse me. It like they think they're the high priests of gaming.
