Personally I feel that they all should have gone to their solo careers once Sheila left and then make reunions once in a while to get back together. It would have been much better that way because when fans see them sing again, they would be excited to the original members singing the old songs than hiring some person who was never famous to continue the group and now 3D doesn't sound that great or classic anymore because of that.
another thing is, If 3D is going continue, they could have at least hired an already famous person and it would still look great or better yet they should not be reusing the projects that the original members sang during the 70s like When Will I See You Again, Dirty Ol Man and so on. Those are timeless classics and sound so great but now because almost all the members are new, they made those classics sound terrible and ruined the touch of it, Especially When Will I See You Again.
Sheila did this song with The Three Degrees. It was recorded on a LP called "LIVE IN THE UK" (label Three D, which was only available during concerts).

Sheila sounds so great. I especially loved it when she mixed up singing When Will I See You Again and Every Breath You Take.

Sheila left in 1986; the other Degrees are doing fine for more than 20 years with Helen, Valerie & Cindy. Sheila has her own solo career.
