  • This is amazing. You had her going so well! And this was only her first ride? Its spectacular.

  • Love the colts expressions when you first touch touch his leg when its on the ground! Its like HELLO what are you doing with my extermity?!?

  • I see what you did there. Not to nay-say you but you did do groundwork with that horse. He doesn't have any significant fear issues, and you got the bridle on him before you started so that tells me that he's been handled a fair amount. It's not that you don't do groundwork, it's that you cut right to an advanced desensitization (laying down) and use your experience/timing to deal with any problems that come up as a result of skipping the intermediate steps. IMO. ;)

  • how come the horses getting worked with always end up on the ground? i work with thoroughbreds every day and this seems bizzare but his results are amazing

  • Now thats funny. My wife has been telling me for years that I can't start riding a horse without doing the ground work first. I done the same thing with my young horses but I use a rope halter and ride bear back as you do for the first while untill they get what I'm asking them down to a T. I still can't beleave that what I saw. Wait untill I show the wife lol. Keep it up 5/5

  • If you think he's pretty awesome on the vids, you should meet him in person. One of the most talented horsemen in the world, and the nicest person you would want to meet.

  • You tapped him in the snow, That's funny!

I really like your vids, I love that you're nice & gentel *Can't spell* Yet though & firm

  • it looks sooooo easy :P

  • im surprised how good he was when you first got on him

  • i strapped for bart cummins a long time ago, and saw comfort and confidence sacrificed for expediency, which was understandable but awful. your sensible, respectful and firm manner with horses is the kind that produces such performers as laurie lever's showjumpers of sometime ago in australia - you may have heard of him. quiet, able and well mannered horses. i wish you much success, you deserve it. cheers mate. w.

  • Thanks for the comment, I used to work for Bart around 1987 at Randwick so we might have crossed paths...

  • how did you get the colt to lie on the ground ?

  • watch my other vids..

  • yeah seriously id like to know too haha

  • you are...amazing.

i'm aspiring to train horses...but i'm not sure if i have the nerve ...

this is definitely the way i'd want to go about doing it though...the horses i think are definitely more relaxed.

this has inspired me, thanks for posting your videos!

  • Hi! I live in Minnesota (United States) and we have an event called "Rescue Race" where we race down to one end of the arena on our horses and someone swings up to the hind end of the horse and you race back. The guys that can swing up easily are in high demand...I want to borrow you!!

  • ok sweet, thanks heaps! :)

  • i got a 5 month old colt a week ago and ive been watching your videos, is this how i should break him in when the time comes?

  • No, you have time on your side so take advantage of it. This is extreme and not recommended for everyone. I will have a colt staring DVD out soon that will be slower and easy to follow for when the time comes.

  • Endo are you going to be the Fourth surprise competitor to be announced at the RTTH? I sure hope so!!!

  • It's so wonderful to see someone who loves and respects thoroughbreds.

  • This one will always be my favorite ! (wink)

  • You should go to RTTH and show them how its really done! I am so going if your going to be there!!!

  • Well if your going, I'm going too...lol

  • Egads Paul! You're not putting that horse down on a bed of plutonium are you???? That's almost worse than when you put that horse down on the cement-colored sand ... LOL. I love the ears-up look, the whole, "what just happened to me?" kinda thing.

  • Is this video 9:09, because it keeps kicking me off at 4:49... Also, what is "Hp's page"?

  • HP is MrHP Horse Problems Australia. His letter page turned PINK

  • Try re-load the page or a different browser, it seems to be all there..

  • Ya, bend over...just like that! THERE IS A BUM SHOT!

It's like Christmas all over again. Weeeeee

  • Another job well done! Wish you good luck if you do get into the RTTH! You show them!

  • Consistantly amazing. Paul, what exactly do we need to do to get you on RTTH?

  • Just this..

    1. Application Sheet

    2. Bio

    3. Essay

4.Video submission of colt starting process/ riding demo on finished horse, 3

    copies required.

    5. Video submission of clinic setting (need not be colt starting). 3 copies required.

    6. Three letters of support

  • I have 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, ready..

Working on 5 at the moment..

  • lol. Oh. Is there anything we can help you with? (An essay? Like, "what I did on my summer vacation?") If you want we can hold a parade- everyone has to wear pink jodphers. They'd be too scared to say no.

    ****************

Second time I tried to post this, praying it doesnt go up twice. :)

  • Oooh, I'll come to the clinic! Buying plane ticket now....lol

  • I saw a mutual friend offering advice on his web site the other day to a few people now, who have horses with problems. His recommendation was to do an 'Endotap' on their horses, something about their horses not having many other options in conventional Horsemanship methods.

  • Whoa I thought to myself, that's a bit like having a recommendation from Pat Parelli himself! You must be good :)

  • PINK power baby, you saw what I did to Hp's page, now if I could only get Pat to wear PINK speedo's...lol

  • Yeah that's something I got to see - Pat in pink briefs!! LOL! or John, I'm easy!!

  • OMG, no!!!

  • What is RTTH?

  • Road to the Horse is the Holy Grail of Colt starting challenges. Clinicians have 3hrs to start an unbroken colt over 2 days.

  • Beautiful!!! You're incredible, and amazing, and . . . (on and on into infinite)!!!

(I went shoppin' today; Bought a safety vest 'cause I want to be just like Endo!)

  • Once again, you amaze me. Folks can argue all day, but the horses you work with are CLEARLY happy & relaxed when you are done...follow you like puppy dogs. If you hurt them they might "obey" while you were working, but not once you turned your back! RTTH should have you for sure.

  • I will be interested in what the RTTH people will do. I would be surprised if they would have you out only because i think they wont want to promote laying the horse down. We'll see! I will for sure wanna see it if you go!

  • "Placing" the horse on the ground has never been easier and the advantages of showing people far outweigh the dis-advantages. There are a lot of trainers out there that need to see this to give them another option before giving up. Anything from roundpens to carrot sticks can get abuse in the wrong hands but they have there uses.

  • I would be interested in seeing how 2 safely and humanely "place" the horse on the ground. I thought I would not want any part of something like that, but I try 2 keep an open mind, and the way you are doing it doesn't seem traumatic. You have a quiet, calm, trusting, and respectful horse there afterwards. And you are so right about carrot sticks and round pens being a tool of abuse in the wrong hands. People need to understand the horse and teach him in a manner that makes sense 2 that horse.

  • Thank you for staying open minded..

I can do this just as easy and fast without laying them down as well, I will do what the producers feel there is interest and entertainment in, I'm easy..

  • Aww! Sweet, Paul, the end is cute! Love the musical selection in this one, too. (:

  • great vid! geep op the good work!

  • RTTH bid....good luck....(you'll make it, like always)

  • paul, tell me if im wrong but isnt that a filly? a young mare and a colt is a young stallion/gelding?

GREAT VIDEO!! XD whatever a RTTH is dont let it stop you posting great videos hehe -i love the horse :)

i decided to try and see what its like taking on board videos while galloping and i have to tell you, your a lot better at it than me! hehe (see my beach vids)

  • some people call all young horses colts. just their way of saying it.
