Since I am a Veteran, of the USMC for 8 years........I feel that ANYONE who feels so strongly about going to war with any country that has not attacked us, should have some military experience. Leadership, is best displayed by EXAMPLE. I always thought a CHICKENHAWK was a guy who liked little boys. From what I can see, there is little or no difference between the politicians or the dudes with "Short Eyes" that plague our country. Both should be weeded out and displayed.

Your point is?.. I have been in the Army for twenty + years should I run for President? Only former members of the service should be office? Franklin D. Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were never in the military. I prefer non-war vets as politicians. They will be less likely to be scared to pull the trigger on a war if needed. A war vet may be cowed by his own experience or just have an itchy trigger finger. No matter what you think of the character of his service, GWBush has been in the military.

FDR didn't serve, but his four sons fought in WWII voluntarily and saw combat.

Is that necessarily a bad thing that they'd be less relucatant to go to war? That seems like it'd be a wonderful thing.
