  • Deport the demon ETs off the planet to anywhere!!!!

  • Give farms back to families and punish the evil men who stole those family farms to create stealing corporations and satanic Monsanto. They are evil demons. Besides, what are we going to do with invading immigrant ETs? We don't have any SPACE immigration rules do we? I am NOT joking!

  • see the 5,000 views on this video? see the 7 million on the waka flocka flame video? see the problem with America?

  • Seriously??? Acceptance of Illegal immigrants coming to the US as a form of 3rd world aid? Unfortunately, this talk muddles LEGAL immigration with ILLEGAL immigration and in doing so does a disservice to both law abiding US citizens who support legal immigration as well as legal immigrants themselves. The "stupid shit" comment at (26:00) revealed the underlying lack of support for the thesis with facts and data. Unfortunately, if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

  • @lam6gun well a true libertarian doesn't mind immigrant coming want to work, the problem with that we have a huge welfare state, therefore our hard earned money will go to support illegals.

  • @trueconservatie33 Totally agree, it's disgusting. Lawful immigration is good for America. Illegal Immigration is a crime and should be treated as such. The liberal welfare state (not just limited to Illegal aliens though) is only motivated by one reason...votes....and votes are power. If they werent able to vote, we wouldn't be having this discussion, the Dems wouldn't give a rip about em.

  • @trueconservatie33 Any evidence whatsoever that illegal immigrants are depended on the welfare state?

  • @SoberHedgehog well when they get sick they come to our hospitals, not to mention our public school

  • Prof. Ben Powell dedrunks the following three popular myths about immigration:

  • Before anyone places a response to this video, especially if you are questioning his intellectualism, make sure your comment does not transpire a typical close-minded, ignorant, low-life of an individual.

  • Liberal propaganda. And who are we talking about eh ? Immigrants or illegals ? I would like this yuppie to trade places with many americans and see how smug and tolerant he is.

  • fucken hippies

  • Here is a perfect example of an intellectual whose misguided ideas and false knowledge of so much that isn’t so will in fact bring about the demise of the civil society as we know it and transform us into a throw-back society resembling that of the third world nations. Tolerance may be a virtue, but such degree of tolerance as exhibited by this moron is suicidal. National borders are there for a good reason, professor.

  • Hay, schmuck! Can you repeat everything in Spanish now?

A typical egg-head professor, who obviously lives in predominantly white neighborhood, whose kids go to a predominantly white school, whose daughter will likely marry a white doctor, who obviously sees pure American culture as inherently wicked and perhaps even inferior to those abroad.

  • @stangphil - Just because this guy does not mind giving others the same rights of immigration that your ancestors had does not mean he hates American culture.

  • 25:58 "Stupid Shit!"

  • Ben Powell

    Video was amazing!

    Enjoyed your thought and opinions.

    With warm regards,

    Michael

  • This guy is full of sh#t.It makes me want to puke my guts out to think he is supposed to be an authority. The states in the US now still thriving are the ones with the least number of illegals..

  • @searchlight18 Wrong, profits in stores have obviously went down when they left.

  • To get off on getting a hate e-mail, is to be totally evil. Now this is what puzzles me! doesn't the American soldier take an oath to defend America from a foreign and DOMESTIC enemy? and isn't this bastard a domestic enemy? and didn't over one million American brave men and woman serve in Iraq war? where are they when it comes to this domestic scum? or is it because unlike Iraqi women and children, this guy is NOT a soft target? no balls at all!

  • @gr8ful2god4life What about US Latino citizen soldiers?

  • @carlos52321 I'm not saying Latinos are bad people or anything. But, The US already has enough people in it.Overpopulation now is the problem.Just because this lazy

fuc#er giving this lecture saved 500 dollars having illegals put in his landscaping, does he take into account the children they have in schools and health costs to the middle-class when they get sick?Or the new cops, highways, and housing that is needed for them?

  • @searchlight18 You're much nicer than the other anti-immigrants. But the population of the U.S. is actually very low compared to other developed countries. It's as low as 1 person per square mile. Did you also know that the military pays no sales tax at all when buying in exchanges? If the immigration law was reformed, the economy would recover at least 16%. The estimated percent of Hispanics in the country. The money is being thrown in the garbage everyday. Believe it.

  • I was under the impression that NAFTA increases illegal immigration because it has largely ruined the Mexican agricultural industry. The problem is not free trade in or of itself, but the massive government subsidies paid to US agribusiness that gives it an unfair advantage against the local competition.

  • I like some of the immigration points.

Make it easier to come and go with some form of tracking, ID.

Dont allow them the right to vote or hand out welfare.

Amend the 14th amendment so that at least one of your parents has to be a citizen and you have to be born on US soil to automatically be a citizen.

  • i worked w several illegal immigrants while living in NYC- by and large, they were good people, hardworking, and law abiding (breaking the law = threat of deportation), while they didn't pay income tax, they of course pay sales tax (8.25%). They were hired by employers because A) the employer actually SAVED money (no payroll tax/sub minimum wage) and could treat them however they want (no breaks/overtime/rights). Want to control illegal immig? Start w the people who profit from it- employers.

  • Hey dumbass! if illegal immigrants don't steal jobs why is the Unemployment rate through the roof???

  • @Kingofprinces85 Because of the minimum wage, the Federal Reserve, and the government pushing home ownership for people who could not afford it. The housing bubble is the major cause of unemployment, and that has absolutely nothing to do with immigrants of any kind.

  • @Kingofprinces85 Name calling? Because they want to work. I got a job as soon as I applied.

  • All he said is true about LEGAL immigrants. Most of the debate is about IILEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

  • HARVEY DENT IS REAL!

  • Maybe you're right but there are many companies making profits in other countries and they don't hire bilinguals.

  • i don't think he really 'debunked' the 3 myths; I would have liked more raw data cited to support his examples. The 1st third of the video was nice, but then the economics talk turned into our obligations as humanitarians.

I agree with what other posters have mentioned - illegals don't pay taxes but receive benefits.

They shouldn't limit how many people come here. They should make it a challenge to come here. People here legally should be welcomed while criminals should be shamed.

  • @zavindur Actually some do pay taxes and they actually dont end up getting money back from doing their taxes.

  • DER TEK ER JERBS

  • In a true democracy the majority decides the laws, bills, elected officials, etc. Hypothetically, what if for no better reason than the majority of Americans are xenophobes...shouldn't that alone be reason enough to get tuffer on immigration? Recent polls PROVE that the majoritry are opposed to immigration. Why aren't our elected officials listening to the majority? You can put however many ivy league schmucks in front of us to spew their drivel as this man is, and our position will not change!

  • What a bullshitt*r! I really loved your analogy on immigration and the hour glass! What a stretch! So there are as many immigrants with Ph.Ds as there are unskilled laborers standing in front of Home Depot? I don't see Mexican doctors standing outside of clinics hustling up some work! How condescending can this guy get? He thinks that we're all complete morons! He has his own selfish reasons why he supports immigration; the MAJORITY have their reasons for NOT supporting immigration!

  • Comment removed

  • This guy said that foreign aid has actually had a negative impact on Sub-Saharan Africa, and that they should be left alone to fix their economic problems as everything else seems to fail. While I do not dispute that, I just want to point out the immense paradox! So the Sub-Saharan Africans should be left to fend for themselves, yet the Mexicans, Salvadorians, etc., should be able to come & go as they wish, earn money, not pay taxes, etc... And that's good foreign aid? Why not leave them be too?

  • This guy thinks that illegal immigrants create jobs? If that's the case why didn't they do it in their own countries? Secondly, he said that an employer who hires an illegal immigrant because it's cheaper, might not have hired the aditional employee(s) at all had it not been for the illegal immigrant's cheaper wage, and done the additional work themselves? WTF! Are you serious? Do you have any real-world experience? No! They instead, would have been forced to pay an honest wage!

  • @BarYesu83 Illeagl immigrant's cost to California's taxpayers annually is $10.5 billion while their tax contributions are only $1.6 billion...mathematics isn't my strong point, but I am sure that equates to a burden for the Native-born taxpayers!

His story about the contractor made me sick! He rewarded the law-breaking contractor by giving him his bussiness while snubbing the honest American trying to earn a living. These are the types of situations that have Americans furious to begin with!

  • @mouthpiece200 so do yourself a favour and stop pretending to be a patriot. It's un-American to think the govt should be able to exert control over property against wishes of property owners, it's un-American to oppose immigration (trace your own family history...) and it's Un-American to want to deny Americans a higher standard of living through a greater decision of labour by restricting immigration.

  • @mouthpiece200 and if you think his arguments are so bad, why straw man him? You said he wants to let immigrants take "ALL" jobs but only someone who's a) stupid or b) deceitful would make such a remark after watching the video. More people = more employment, if that's not true explain how it is that despite American population growing in the MILLIONS since independence, employment hasn't taken a structural hit?

  • @mouthpiece200 2ndly - the impact on uneducated Americans, all things being equal, is negligible. It's entirely possible, if not probable, that opening the borders completely would increase jobs for unskilled Americans as it would mean that illegal immigrants could come and go as they please. At the moment by virtue of the fact that they are criminals, once they've gained entry to the US they have to stay there & keep looking for work.

  • This man calls it "foreign aid", when money flows out of the US, straight to Mexico. I call it theft. It is the same as walking up to a low educated natural US citizen and stealing their wallet.

  • @mouthpiece200 1st of all, to deny workers the right to hire workers of their choice is highly 'Un- Amercan' it's an outright denial of property riights and the Founding Fathers would shudder if they knew that modern patriots associate themselves with socialist anti-immigrations beliefs

  • On one hand this man was fun and informative. On the other hand he is a traitor to the US. He openly admitted that low education immigrants take jobs from low education workers, and now he wants to let in more immigrants. If we legalize immigration then immigrants of all education levels will steal jobs from Americans of all education levels. It is a catastrophic fallacy to believe America has a "lack" of unskilled labor which must be made up by someone. This man hates the people of the US.

  • I agree with you and I thank you. I wish the media would give you an opportunity to be heard.

  • Somebody please dump a bucket of shit on this f*cking thief!!!

This as*hole actually thinks he can convince me that increasing labor force does not bring wages down.

If the government that supposedly you elected would not allow outsourcing your jobs and stop all kinds of immigration, then you not only would have jobs but, you would be paid high and fair wages. Only then I would believe the wealthy earned their money. Outsource yourself and leave the money you stole from the people behind!!!!!

  • THIS GUY IS A MORON AND HAS NO REAL LIVE EXPERIENCE

    WHAT IS HE 24?

  • IMGRANTS ARE A DISEASES LOOK AT THE INDIAN TRIBES

  • Unfortunately, I do not have the time to watch the good professor's entire speech but I would like to address 3 points. 1st, he tries to apply AZ's anti-ILLEGAL immigration law to, presumably, legal immigrants. 2nd, I do not see a big anti-LEGAL immigrant outcry - quite the opposite; America is among the least xenophobic nation on the planet. 3rd, if illegals, without paying income taxes, can contribute more than they consume, then so can citizens; abolish income taxes.

  • Meaningful Immigration reform is not deporting 11 million people. What has occurred is an oversubscription in labor markets that have disrupted the economic equilibrium in wages and housing. Presumably, illegal immigrants have secured housing and employment, the solution may be a moratorium on new/legal immigration until the oversubscription is alleviated. Without employment growth, new immigration is detrimental to the economy, trade one to one with a high preferrence for established aliens?

  • "Intervention in our labor markets", this is called, "shocking the economy with immigation". Birthing a child, generally does not require additional housing. Housing is the hidden cost of immigration that ecnomists rarely address. Immigration is used as a price control on labor AND as a demand driver for housing inflation. The result is one generation stealing from the next by creating a scarcity in housing that wages will not support. (Economic expulsion.)

  • Population (16 through 64), increased by 22 million in the first decade of the 21st century; employment growth for the decade was only 1 million jobs in the working age population. Total employment growth for the decade was only 3.2 million, two thirds of total employment growth went to persons 65 yrs. and older. Even prior to the mortgage meltdown, employment growth was the worst in BLS data in relation to population growth.

  • OCCUPY WALL STREET, THE ASS DOUCHE GENERATION

  • is he really promoting a flood the labor market then saying that the laws of suply and demand do not apply and wages would not be lowered thus the standard of living for those not effected? Why does he appeal to your ego saying it would nto effect you(to heck with the fortunate citizens) instead of addressing that isue dirrectly? I could go on, but this guys whole argumentation is dishonest and weasly.

  • I LOVE foreing language and culture...we've FORGOT where we've came from!!!

  • what an idiot.."know more and more about absolutely nothing", hey, he said it, I'm just adding the emphasis on his statement. Live in the towns that once were wonderful southern towns with all the filth and crime that illegality promotes.

  • ♥ southpark ♥

  • This is a really good video. Why conservatives have been traditionally the anti-immigration party i'll never know.

  • @caversmill That was a horrible video, this man openly admitted that immigration is bad for low education americans. And now he wants to let in immigrants of ALL education levels so ALL our jobs can be stolen. If I hated America I would recite his speech word for word.

  • Finally people are describing Mexicans in general when they describe illegal immigrants. Examples, gangs are more likely to be formed by first or second generation Americans. Hospital emergency rooms are the hospital of the poor, many Mexicans happen to be poor. Most of the money send back to Mexico is send by legal immigrants. The reality is that most of the Mexicans or Mexicans decedents that you complaint so much about are legal or citizens. Many see a Mexican and think Illegal.

  • @labamba8448 That's true because there is not a problem with illegal Canadians.

  • P.S. It's not a myth that jobs are taken from well-qualified individuals just because they are not bilingual. This should be considered discrimination as the primary language spoken in our country is English and Americans should not be required to cater to Spanish speaking people. Noone should not be hired for a job just because there was another candidate equally (or less) qualified but could speak Spanish.

  • @blameitonyourselfOWS

The people who are bilingual are more qualified to work and that is why they are hired. The fact that they are bilingual means that they can overcome the language barrier between customers which allows the company to serve a larger range of consumers. Expanding the consumer target means more profit for the company. It's not discrimination. Being bilingual is in itself, a qualification and a benefit. The person is able to interact better with consumers.

  • @TheAznsenzation They are not more qualified for the job. They only know a foreign language and that is not needed to do the job competently. The language barrier continues to exist because we have allowed the consumer not learn the primary language of this country. Other countries do not accept this. You only need one person in any company to speak the language anyway: an interpreter. And if they are legal then they can learn to speak our native language as they are in the minority.

  • @blameitonyourselfOWS

Actually, it is a qualification in that it gives the person an advantage over another person in that they are able to better communicate with a wider variety of customers. Regardless of whether everyone will know english or not, people will speak spanish because they are more comfortable with it. It's more cost efficient because instead of having to hire an employee and then an interpreter, the business owner saves money with a bilingual.

  • @TheAznsenzation You know where else they could feel more comfortable speaking their native language? Mexico!

  • @blameitonyourselfOWS

That's an issue with the consumer, not the business and has nothing to do with bilinguals being hired. If you're simply going to make pointless arguments instead of addressing the topic, then it's obvious you have nothing to say and that you are simply saving face.

  • @TheAznsenzation Just because you don't agree doesn't mean I didn't make my point. It's not the companies of America responsibility to allow consumer to keep speaking their native language at an additional cost to them. It cost the companies more money because we've accepted it and should not keep doing so as they don't reciprocate that in other countries.

  • @blameitonyourselfOWS

I hope you realize that because of the diversity in America, people will always speak in different languages as well. No matter what you do, you can't stop that. It isn't just a social norm that we have accepted. Its a just another obstacle and the business that is best able to adapt to it will make profit. Most companies are quite fine with hiring bilinguals because it adds more revenue. Even though they cost more, bilinguals bring in more profit.

  • I going to make a different argument. Mexican immigration is just a scapegoating subject that really has no effect other that on the immigrants themselves. First this is about Mexicans and Centro-Americans immigrating so let's get that in the open. Second nobody really can tell me that a group of maybe 10 million people with no economical power can be hurting or helping this economy. (read my next comment.)

  • Is he making this argument under the assumption that certain laws are being followed?

It's not that Americans won't do the jobs at legal wages, it's that many of these jobs are being paid under the table at under minimum wages, illegally. Many companies, particularly farmers, see this as the only way to survive (that is another argument altogether).

The average citizen can't afford to live on these "under minimum" wages, while many illegal immigrants live many to a house. Running out of room.

  • This guy is a classic academic hack. There are economic benefits, no doubt. The expense on the government is the issue. In California (30% of the US welfare population) illegal's may receive food stamps, education assistance, in-state tuition, 2nd language support, etc. etc. etc. There IS a reduction of the average wage and there is a massive expense. The foreign aid is another topic but I must ask a question that applies to both, why must we provide welfare for the world?

  • @roberthubbardjr

Actually, expense on the government isn't the issue. Net economic benefits take that into account. There are other things that can offset that (like economic growth), and as for wages, the data shows that in the long run, the only people affected negatively are high school dropouts (wages 8% lower in short run, 5% lower in long run) and college graduates(4% lower in short run, .5% lower in the long run) so no, the wage reduction is not much of a cost at all

  • @roberthubbardjr You can't continually support extreme social programs forever, they don't generate revenue.

I'm sure stealthswimmer's textbooks talk all about people's poor decisions, or people who actually purposefully take advantage of the system. Textbooks aren't meant to be law, they are there to learn from, not to be used as the bottom line.

  • @roberthubbardjr I could be mistaken, but I think he talked about that. Making welfare conditional, or not even giving them it. A permanent worker. About the welfare for the world thought, I tend to agree with you, but he made a point about the fact that there is humanity in those other countries. So basically he is a humanist, wanting the best for us as a species.

  • @roberthubbardjr Well, let's not tangle the argument here. First, Illegal immigrant's do not get welfare form the federal gov't. They get it from the state gov't, and that's a state issue. You need to talk to your local state legislator about that... Second, the way some get benifits is because of their children, who are constitutionally legal, and have no other mean's to support themselves. This is also correctable, but at the federal level this time. Until it's fixed, I'd rather kids not die.

  • @roberthubbardjr This is coming from the oh wise words of roberthubbardjr. Really? You want to debate someone's legitimacy over youtube. Just go watch videos of people doing stupid shit and let educated people do the thinking for you.

  • I love how people talk about the immigration debate as if it were anything other than the mexican immigration debate. Immigrants of other countries all have PHDs and come here to drive taxi cabs. Mexicans come in and fuck up your neighborhood with gangs.

  • @MrBaldurthegood The real problem is that somewhere along the lines the "illegal immigration" debate got turned into the "immigration" debate. These are two different topics entirely and sadly the lines have been very blurred.

  • @ryta1203 If you live in TX there is no reason to make a distinction. I have known only 2 legal immigrants and they are both proud of where they come from talk about their country of origin openly. They pay taxes also. They don't have anything to hide because they aren't breaking the law by being here illegally and avoiding taxes and sending all their money home to their family instead of keeping it here where it was earned. So yeah there's no reason to debate legal immigration.

  • @blameitonyourselfOWS There is a distinction. One is legal and the other is not.

  • @ryta1203 Yes I agree his video should be called economics of illegal immigration. My point is that those who are upset with illegal immigration live where it's a problem like TX. Someone like this professor could not understand frustration when they don't encounter the problem everyday like those from TX, NM, AZ and CA do. That's why he mislabeled his video in the first place.

  • @blameitonyourselfOWS Ah, I see. Then, yes, we totally agree on this point.

  • @ryta1203 interesting, thanks for your reply. Personally I'm sick to death of all the hate. I have white man guilt about living in america, and I would gladly emigrate to norway some other european country, but even though I couldn't be whiter, they would hate me there because my genealogy doesn't have 400 year old roots in their community. People who are gonna hate are gonna hate, people who open their arms might change things for the better...

  • @ryta1203 not really since the problem of immigration legal or not is a problem of identity for the main group. It is easier to complain about the illegal immigrants because they are good scapegoats but if you listen to the people complaining you would see that they are describing Mexicans or Mexicans decedents in general. Next time somebody complains about illegals look closely at who they are pointing chances are they point to legal and illegal immigrants they just don't know it.

  • IT IS NOT EASY TO GET STUDENT LOANS. Not when you've got an unethical, unjustified drug CHARGE without even having a CONVICTION that is the product of an unethical, unjustified war on drugs. So no, student loans are NOT generous or easy to get.

  • @The3rdPlateau from around 40:00

  • @The3rdPlateau from around 40:00

  • @antitheist98 The only thing you destroyed was your credibility but again Im glad that you at leaat entertained both yourself and me. I love to watch people make themselves look foolish :)

  • @antitheist98 you have destroyed nothing but Im glad you are entertaining yourself here

  • @SolomansEye Your arguments were bad, but I wouldn't go as far as referring to you as nothing.

  • @Antitheist98 I really don't care how you feel about it to be honest. I care about this country and its CITIZENS. Mexican citizens do not belong here outside a visiting. You want to live here and become a citizen fine. Do it. But if you want to sneak into this country, take away American jobs, and send the money back to Mexico to boost that economy...I and many other AMERICANS have a problem with it. Deal with iti

  • @SolomansEye I don't really care about your individual opinion either, but if you're gonna spread this incoherent, nonsensical garbage about immigrants I will take the time to destroy your arguments (as I have been) and expose how uninformed people like you are.

You say if they want to become citizens, then it's fine with you. If only the law reflected that. Current laws make it impossible for almost all of them, and you are defending it's enforcement. You don't understand the issue very well.

  • @SolomansEye

Please open an economics textbook. They don't "take away" American jobs. They often take jobs US citizens won't do at those wages. The law of comparative advantage applies to labor as well.

  • @stealthswimmer The fact that you are using a "textbook" flaws your entire viewpoint. Textbooks, particularly in this country, are written with slant and often, way too often, don't hit contentious topics, contentious being reality, not theory.

  • @ryta1203

Your viewpoint is flawed in that you're saying my viewpoint is flawed JUST because it comes from a textbook without regards to what the text actually says.

  • also to try to make a comparison to slavery is absurd! Those people were sragged out of there country on the other side of the world, shipped here and forced to work as slave labor. Illegal immigrants cross the border fully understanding that they are breaking the law, and do it anyway. Its a rediculous comparrison

  • @SolomansEye I wasn't talking about Rosa Parks citizenship status you idiot. I was talking about her breaking the segregation law. By your own logic, if it is illegal (what part of illegal is not registering, remember?) there's no debate. Same thing for runaway slaves. The part about giving resources away, or providing for citizens in need makes no sense at all, and shows your lack of understanding of economics, so there's no point to debate it. You are on the wrong side of history on this one.

  • @Antitheist98 Rosa Parks was a citizen of this country...illegal aliens are not. I would rather provide for our own citizens who are in need rather than give those resources away to citizens of another country. I believe that it is a countries right to allow whomever it wants to become its citizens. The bigots are the politicians who turn a blind eye to illegal immigration to pad there pockets. They are the bigots not me. I stand for what I believe in and i believe this issue is a major problem

  • What part of illegal is not registering here? There is no debate in my opinion. You are either a law abiding CITIZEN, or you are not. If you are not, then you have no buisness in this country...PERIOD. And Btw, thats not racism, thats the letter of the LAW. I accept all real citizens of this country no matter what race, and the immigrants that came here through the proper channels just like my ancestors did!

  • @SolomansEye No one is accusing you of racism. Just bigotry. You do understand that anything can be made illegal? That doesn't say anything at all about it being good or bad. Simply not allowed. So what you are saying is that once something is prohibited by government, all debates are automatically over. Rosa Parks really was a criminal cause she broke the law. Harboring runaway slaves was a bad thing, cause it broke the law. Same for not buying health insurance after obamacare. Why so obedient?

  • Person A loses a job to Person B, Person Bthen creates a need for more goods and services so person A gets rehired? If this were true and given the birth rate outpacing the deathrate in this country, how can unemloyment ever rise?

  • @pdhudsonUSMC

In short, governments create unemployment. There are a million and one things that governments do that make it more expensive to employ people, every time you make it more expensive to employ someone, all those jobs that were only just profitable before, will now lose money, and all the jobs that still make money now make less.

  • The best one I've seen in a long time. Its so obvious when he explains it.

  • 26:00 now that's the Ben I know.

  • DEY TERK RRR JERBSS

  • If our population was more intellectually informed, people like this guy would be in office. You'd be watching this video with confidence going: "Yeah. Most Americans are going to see this and elect this guy to something important." not: "Dammit, I wish more people knew about this guy than Snookie."

  • In a nut shell he is advocating protectionist polices for companies that are noncompetative and removing the protections for the countries legal citizens. Obviuosly his loyalties are not to the people that make up this fine country but to the ccmpanies that might hire him to mouth things for them. This guy sure is a really smart weasle.

  • I am shocked and saddened to actually see this under “LearnLiberty” I was hoping for more than a sneaky introduction to Hamiltonian mercantilism, liberty is more than acting as a step-and-fetch-it for corporate and money interests.

  • @masluxx

Dude, like seriously, that's the wackiest argument I've ever heard for anything.

Your logic would dictate that free trade is, in fact, protectionist because it allows the free flow of capital to industries that would have otherwise been uncompetitive in a domestic capital market.

  • @Barebast Do you not get the simple concept of supply and demand? If you increase the market with more (illegal) labor wages will go down. It really is that simple. He promotes a change in policy which will promote more profits for the owners and reduce wages and standard of living for the workers. What part of my saying he promotes protection of the owners at the workers expense seems illogical to you?

  • @masluxx

It's obvious that you haven't watched the video. He addresses your argument and explains that for all the theorising, immigration (illegal and legal) has had a minimal effect on wages and where it does, it has only affected those without high school diplomas. Before you reply, at least listen to what he has to say: 5:49

  • @Barebast You might want to watch that part again. What he does is appeal (disingenuously) to self-centeredness and implies that it will not affect you. It will how ever effect wages threw basic supply and demand principles.

  • @masluxx

I don't think that trying to determine whether he has an agenda or not is really relevant. What is relevant however, is examining the strength of his arguments. He said that, yes, the basic tenets of supply and demand would dictate that wages should decrease with more people, but he pointed out that not all labour is is equal and hence the simple supply and demand argument becomes moot. Would you expect the wages of an American engineer to decline because of a low-skilled Mexican maid?

  • @Barebast Oh, i did not realize one had to be an engineer or any other highly skilled person to be an American or to benefit in the society they also helped to create. Are you advocating citizenship for only those highly skilled people or just disingenuously ignoring information that does not support what you want to believe? (you know just like this smart little weasel of a speaker thinks you will do)

  • @masluxx is not that the basic thing we should ask of people lucky enough to be born in the country with the most opportunities to be educated in the world. There one thing America is great at and that is creating universities, people from all over the world come to study here plus Americans have a lot of advantages compare to the rest of the world to go to college. Should it we ask Americans to at least educate themselves, is that to much to ask?

  • This guy can make this speech from the comfort of his liberal college. I bet if he were here in Oklahoma on the South side he would be singing a different tune. I'm tired of these liberal pukes trying to justify criminals sneaking into our country.

  • @JJRage420 Watch the video, he actually addresses the issue(s) you are bringing up in your comment..

  • When immigration served political interests, the laws and regulations were lax; but now that our government needs the conflict as a weapon against the people to further erode society toward Their agenda, They've slammed the borders with impunity, to increase division, strife and economis malfeasance. C.I.A. zombies transported illegal ordinance across the border into the hands of MS13. Was that a peace offering? Seeing is deceiving.

  • @SuperPeoplearestupid You try to make a point but I think you are miss informed or making assumptions based on a urban legend.

  • 26:00 he says the word shi*

  • Delusional cultural marxism, twisting facts, deliberate misinformation - un-subscribed

  • @rockymountainprep "Cultural Marxism" doesn't even make sense as a term.

  • Frankfurt School and of Marxist thinker Antonio Gramsci was particularly influential in the counterculture social movements1960s. Try researching "Cultural Marxism” theory as a self-identified (leftist/marxist) term, used widely in the english language to identify promotion of marxist ideals by means first expanded by Gramsci.

  • What a crock of crap. Who is funding this guy? Rockefeller and Maurice Strong.

Immigrants are going to College on the Public Dime.

Immigrants are given extraordinary advantages ( Low interest Loans, Tax Breaks/Exemptions for new businesses.)

Many contractors are being forced out of business in place of poorly skilled labor.

Our Manufacturing has largely moved overseas. If a Country is not the originator, they do not benefit as much in profit, especially from Trade.

    This guy is disconnected

  • What this guy is saying are very pragmatic ideas to get what people want in the short term. How ever what this guy is advocating would eventually cause a class system not unlike a place like present day Kuwait or many ancient cultures like the Romans, Greek, Spartans, Egyptians etc and this is not what America is about, matter of fact it is the exact opposite of the principles this nation is founded on.

  • @masluxx It depends what you mean by "class system". In America, there are relative disparities of wealth (sometimes extremely large ones) resulting in different fiscal income classes. America is about ignoring those "classes" and treating everyone with dignity and respect. If you look at history, immigration, especially unskilled labor, has helped make America what it is today. The belief in universal respect is what makes America "exceptional" and unlike any other nation.

  • @classiclibertarian a legaly sanctioned class system. I am sorry if that was implied by the countries i listed and not explicity explained. Some times i assume others criticaly think when they read or listin, i guess i should nto do that ah?

  • @masluxx It was a long lecture, and I didn't follow that you were talking about his guest worker status until your snarky second comment either. Also it wouldn't be anything like Rome, Ancient Greece, Egypt and I don't know about Kuwait because all of these people would be immigrants, not slaves. They would have a passport and citizenship in another country and attempting to describe that with reference to slavery is moronic. They could find new jobs or go home at any time.

  • You can deport them if you let the states do it within their own borders.

  • The supply side of supply & demand has been debunked by Steve Keen.

  • @KenMacMillan

    It has????

  • @SeppLainer By Professor Steve Keen at the University of West Sydney in Australia. His YouTube is ProfSteveKeen

  • @SeppLainer In fact, he's the only one who can model the economy in a computer.

  • Opening the flood gates will drowned America! The LARGEST strains have nothing to do with TARP or the like. It's illegal immigration, UNIONS, Government Regulations our failure to hold other countries accountable and to TARRIFF appropriately!! America needs to go back to her ideologies from the late 40's and 50's. STRONG Pride, Strong work ethics and "accountability"!!!

  • @BONZAII42 Did you even watch the video? He addresses everything you said. He talks about internalizing the costs of immigrants to immigrants, god are you anti-immigration goons just posting blanket statements on every immigration video after watching 5 minutes of each?

  • Let's look up Anchor babies, health costs from immigrants, The sustaining STRAIN of human population on America's infrastructures such as: agriculture, waste, demographics, influence to our way of life, our governing, our principles, etc. PLEASE, Immigration has destroyed our way of life because they REFUSE to assimilate to our cultures and philosophies. They're KILLING this country!

Irresponsible teachings only further hide the realities we will soon face.

  • I'm sorry, under no circumstance can I bare to hear anymore. I'm DEEPLY disappointed in the fact that you don't cover the REASONS for controlling the immigration movement ( ie population control) and 2, how you very easily side step the REAL issues faced with illegal immigration. so you're saying, my house would be built out of country? You're saying my maid services would be done out of country? You're saying they DON'T put a HEAVY burden on tax payers? Sorry, you are WAAAY off base!

  • I guess he would rather us not believe our own eyes and observations, but instead listen to his hypothesis. Nope, I prefer to believe my own observations , and tell the economists to shut up ; they have not been right about anything yet, which is why every time their suggestions are taken up, it goes poorly. .

  • @DeltaNordicAdvance hahaha - I agree whole heatedly. In fact one of the people I ADMIRE the most in that regard is Sir Richard Branson (Owner of Virgin) - Who hired a room full of economists just so he could do the exact OPPOSITE. And look how successful he is.. I'm a small business owner, and my business is affected directly by economy. So don't tell me about economy, it runs through my professional veins! Problems with professors is MOST haven't spent ONE DAY in the actual business realm!!

  • @BONZAII42 and yet he probably makes more that you.

  • @DeltaNordicAdvance Did you miss the part about the seen an the unseen or did you just not watch it at all? You see the one guy who was working in an inefficient job lose it to people who would work for a lower wage, you don't see all the marginal benefits to the economy that make it wealthier, such as the food, shelter and other goods that immigrant buys. The more apples are sold the cheaper apples get, for YOU as well as the immigrant. What right do you have to tell an employer who to hire?

  • @Hashishin13 I have a right as a natural born citizen of a country to have a say in who and how many people get let in to that country. You make a false statement because the prices have not been going down on necessity items in the US or Europe, where there is a lot of immigration - they've been going up! Further, this entire discussion is making a false assumption that all immigration is the same in cost and benefit. Eg. Korean, Indian, Japanese immigrants are net gain, Somalis a huge loss.

  • @DeltaNordicAdvance So do you "as a natural born citizen" have the right to tell others how many kids they can have? If you all you care about is cost and benefit, not natural rights and private property then welfare moms should be forced to not have more kids right? An immigrant is a person, just like a baby. Just like a baby, they can potentially impose costs.

Prices go up because governments inflate the currency. Everyone knows that economies of scale and a wider market means lower prices.

  • What everyone is missing (including this speaker) is that again we have government in collusion with corporate and banking forces (Hamiltonian mercantilism). This artificially increases the flow of immigration advertising what is in effect subsidizing the labor with free medical care, entitlements well outside of natural market forces and constrictions.

  • @rockymountainprep Again, did you even WATCH THE VIDEO at all? He explains everything you are talking about and addresses all of your concerns. So far my count is that you have posted at least 3 comments criticizing a video you HAVE YET TO WATCH.

  • The problem is context and timing along with an equalization of labor value (upper and HS drop-out) and remittances as a general benefit. He falsely asserts that there is no net drain due to this issue (currently). He uses the false “yuppie liberitarian” disassociation rights (as a net negative, patently false when looking at closed communities).

  • His assertion on taxes, direct and indirect (currently) and the amounts - well all off the mark (while I do agree with the points that agree in sprit with my other posts). His clouding the issue with his “Irish immigrant” example is covering other issues (he then avoids). I of course fully agree with his all-too-short “if they cover their own FULL cost” position. The points on voluntary association/disassociation I disagree with as the historical evidence seems to counter the desired point.

  • He did address the Social Security Ponzi scheme, his assertion that immigration would help the current situation is fantasy. I am bothered by the general idea that any money made regardless of how is a net gain by grasping at straws as it were. He does address the problems with multiculturalism and the welfare state but does not identify that as cultural marxism and his own connections. His attempt to brush off the working conditions and issue at the very end is at best silly and uninformed.

  • @DeltaNordicAdvance you have a right to say whatever you like but I doubt your opinion carries much weight. Unless you have a political machine or money to hire one your opinion is worth as much as that of a Somali.
