well first you have to attach the cord up to the receiver than to the back and then to your headphone and then get your friends to get their cords attached. Thats called old technology wifi ftw
Its both a transmitter and receiver and its not meant to be used in the car its a portable accessory. No other TRANSCEIVER was developed for use in a portable way like this.
As much as this is a cool idea, it just isn't right. Zune was made for it first. If people are really interested in "sharing" their music, then the best thing is to go for the real deal, and just buy a Zune. That's how things work. Instead of trying to make something taste like lemonade, how about just buying the real lemonade? It's much easier and safer, than just forcing things to work on something. I like the idea, but most people will go for the real thing.
Choice is the key I dont think people only want one way if so why are there so many brands makes and models of autos. This is clearly an alternative and works for those that dont want to buy yet another player or two (to share music with a Zune you need another) Also the Zune does not broadcast it transfers which means you are not listen in sync with your friend (same song not at the same time). Lastly $250. vs $30. the market will decide.
can you share unlimited songs with the zune, i hear on the tv commercial i think its 3 plays a day for select song so there might be DRM in the zune, i hope with this you can share any of your songs maybe unlimited sharing if all your music is mp3s on your ipod and not the itunes protected music, haha its like portable limewire hehe
no what I mean is if you have mp3s on a zune and you have another zune can you share those mp3s on your zune onto the other zune and you can share an unlimited amout and the second zune can play those songs an unlimited amount of times, but ive read that the zune is loaded with DRM in it and i think that may affect mp3s as well so ill stick with my iPod and disney mix max (this has DRM but only for WMAs and I dont use wmas only mp3s and dosnt play DRM videos)
If you get an FM transmitter, you can plug it into any (ipod, cd player, mp3 ect) ... you can easily trasmit music to someone with a small FM radio and cellphone radio..
First thanks for your comment I consider all input valuable. First how much does your transmitter cost and if you have only a transmitter how do you receive music from others. Based on your assessment you will have to buy a transmitter and a radio not connected with each other and your friend would have to do the same.
Using your logic question 2 how many friends will buy 2 accessories and how much will that cost? How many friends will have their radios preset to your channels? even people you dont know how will that work? Seems like a hassle.
You know you can also buy a wifi device and a mp3 player find a way to connect them and not need a Zune. Thats the basic theme you are applying to this product.
Wifi is not new but what Zune is doing is establishing a peer to peer group. I disagree iwth your assessment as its only true now because thats the extent of earbud sharing.
You are thinking about adults yes most will work in pairs but not kids. They share music differently and are more pationate about there sharing. You dont see adults carrying IPODs to the movies, they dont go to the library as often and they dont go to lunch in a academic enviornment, dont take the bus often and dont share earbuds except with a significant other thats the difference
one last comment then I have to go and be back later. Youtube did not invent video streaming or new video technology you can certainly find ways to post your videos besides using it before it was launched and now. Of course you wont knock now its too successful.
the units have been specially tuned to work with one another since it works not only with IPODs but also portable CD players and MP3 players is designed to work in a portable format ie while walking, jogging, at the beach etc plus you enjoy the music with unlimited number of friends instead of playing the song out of sync with one another at a cost later like the zune this is no additional cost (you have to pay for that saved song eventually).
One lsst note this is a $30. product vs $250. and it is not restricted by formats as you will be when you have to convert all your IPOD music to Zune format.
Yeah, I guess it's cool how it comes the transmitter/receiver into one unit.. But it's still nothing amazing. I use a Belkin transmitter and it works great. I guess she sorta gets props for coming up with the idea to combine them.
Yeah its a portable play and easy to use try using your belkin with another person not a car or home stereo. Also yours only works with an IPOD i bet not MP3s or CD players. This is the first product we have a new ones coming out based on the same technology we call snooptunes we feel there is room for a new type of portable device one that establishes a new type of social network controlled by kids thats what makes it so powerful no one elst thought of it
Well, my Belkin is actually the TuneCast (not the Tunebase) which means it works with more than just the iPod. Still a cool device though (if lots of ppl would start using it).
who wants to be carrying a little metal dildo with their ipod? how pathetic......just get a damn zune, its better than a ipod anyways....

Most people wont be using these devices in a large group.. normally the likely case would be just 2 people sharing..
Fm transmitters are very inexpensive This device is a nice way of doing what can already be done. Its convinient but not new.

Is that not just an FM transmitter/receiver? Can't save it like you can on a Zune. This is coming from an iPod owner btw.
