There Are 6 KH games, and you only need to play KH: 358/2 days to understand the storyline, though I would recommend playing The original Kingdom Hearts and KH: Chain of Memories for the story to make more sense to you.
If you are referring to KH Birth by Sleep and KH coded, then I would have to disagree. Coded started to come out (it was a cell phone game originally) long before 358/2 days, though it does complicates the main plot line, and Birth By Sleep was designed to explain a majority of the plot holes that 358/2 days missed (e.g. Xehanort's identity- we only know that he was some dude that lost his memory and became a scientist, Org. XIII's original selves- We knew nothing!, etc.)

Her association with Roxas caused her to absorb Sora's memories, thus taking on the form of 'kind of' Kairi. However, she appears different to everyone who sees her. For example, Saix sees her as nothing but a puppet while Xigbar sees her as Ventus.

this game was....ok......the thing between xion roxas and axel was very touching, but personally im not a big xion fan, i found her more random than anything, i kinda see her as a filler character in the already butchered storyline of these games, plus i really didnt like how sad it was because look at all the other games, they always had more positives and better endings, lately kh has been going so..well, neg., 358 was sad, bbs was sad, etc. yknow?
@ChaosJokerXtreme I think the main reason for that was because they are side games, and you never see them in a main game so something had to happen because of that.

I think Square Enix is realizing that thier target audience is getting older and we do not desire sugar-coated happy endings to all our games. I mean, Sora has pretty much just become a joke of a character nowadays. The cool characters are the ones who suffer. Morbid, but true. Just ask Cloud. lol!

@MinnMaigi i doubt SE realize it at all. Just look at it, no KH3 but KH3D ..it isnt KH3 basicly its just for 3DS. Rumor said Tetsuya Nomura is leaving SE soon, SE Stock also drop nearly 87%. Basicly SE is dying trying to impress none fanbase. Games thats exclusive or time exclusive to 360 has drop there income massively. Huge title are ether on DS/PSP but it still isnt enought to gain there income. Yoichi Wada needs to stop impressing the westen an start back track to there real fanbase in JP.

@bikram1122 It was a rumor, basicly he cant do what he likes when u compare to Hideo Kojima. If you didnt know Hideo history Komami was close to fired an he was close to quitting the company due to the fact he was restrictive. Nomura is almost in the same spot as Hideo on restrictive, he cant do much w/e CEO telling him to do it. Remeber FF13, Nomura team was force to split up doing FF13 leaving Nomura part of team to work on. Both Hideo an Nomura are fan of PS brand.

This game is not bad as far as fun factor goes. It plays more or less the same. But as far as plot and storyline it just dug the KH series into a bigger hole. I thought this game was designed to fill plotholes but instead creates a whole lot more. Seriously WHY add Xion? I get that she kinda gives Roxas something to do during those days thats kinda interesting but she just adds a shit ton more questions to this already messed up world.
I have a few questions... Why did Axel and xion get ready to fight? Why did saix tell Axel to get rid of Roxas or not be a someone? Why wont Xion go back with da organization? Why was Riku holding Xion at the end? And most importantly, why does everyone keep on saying Xion died? Did she? (sorry for all the questions, but I wanna know, and I really dont care if there is a spoiler, i NEED to know).
That game made me a Roxas fan more then a Sora Fan and make me feel Riku is an Evil Basterd anyway in Reconnect Kingdom Hearts (which I think is a game) Sora will return what he owes meaning Roxas and Ven and Xion will come back I guess

Xion has no "true self", as she is a Replica, much like the Riku Replica in Chain of Memories. It becomes more easily apparent if you find a certain Secret Report, as her true name is revealed - "No.i", as in the imaginary number i (which is the square root of -1).
Rah! Axel is LEA'S nobody!!! If you play the game, I believe it says that!!! Although, Riku was a heartless at one point, right? I haven't played the first game in a while. I don't know who his nobody is.

Xion is part of Soras memories... Nothing more than a puppet, less than a Nobody. She was created by the Organization XIII so that if something happens to Roxas, she'll continue his work. That's why she can hold the Keyblade, she's part of Sora. Namine is Kairi's Nobody. As for Axel, he's not Riku's Nobody. In the new game KH "Birth by Sleep" Axel appears at his original self, Lea. In that game he's very young, at the age of Riku (maybe) in KH 2.

That last line, was it really "Who the heck am I" or was is "Who the hell am I"? Because I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, since Sora said "What the hell is wrong with you people?!" in the Japanese version of CoM. XD
Since Nobodies don't ever age, their age is pretty much meaningless. Roxas would be considered age 14. Xion would be 14. Axel would be unknown since we do not know the age Lea was turned into a heartless.
Well it depends on if the game has the options to change the language sub, but if you look around in the smaller game shops you might find it in Japanese.
Be warned though, you can only play Jap. versions of games on a Japanese version of the system.
There's no such thing as a Japanese version of the DS/DSLite-- (maybe the DSi, as I don't own one) it's region free. I have multiple Japanese games I bought that work fine on my American-bought DSLite.
Oh I didn't know that they don't have a Japanese version of the DS. I was just going off the fact that almost all other systems have different versions for different countries/regions.
This trailer spoils like the whole games plot except the ending, if you watch this before you play the game you may as well skip all the cutscenes, good thing i beat this game already.

You're wrong. The whole reason that Kingdom Hearts is popular is because of the Disney and Final Fantasy characters that appear in it. It was an unexpected thing to do at the time, as Square and Disney were two very different companies that made this kind of crossover work. That's the whole charm of Kingdom Hearts, and removing those characters removes that charm.
I think this game probably would have been better had there been MORE Disney characters in it.
This game tells the story how the Organisation uses Roxas to gather hearts for Kingdom hearts, it also tells lot of backstory of the Organisation members and such. it also explain how riku became evil to stop roxas from going nuts.
A good game if you envy the Organisation and would like to swing your sword with them, it also alows you to play as the organisation via multiplayer and solo, beeing Xamnes and Axel. and slay heartless in hundreds.
from what i've heard from other people and various game sites, it's the story of the time between the end of KH:CoM and KH2, following Roxas in his time with the Organization. some of Sora's memories escaped, mainly the ones of Kairi, and formed another Nobody, a combination of Sora and Kairi. i haven't gotten the game yet, so i dunno how all this stuff happened or anything, but that's what i know. hope it helps.
hey...I have a theory which may be dumb but it just came to me...Do you think that Xion could be the second nobody of sora?Like when he became a heartless roxas was created from his empty body...but because sora's connection with kairi was ultimately strong he had a part of her inside him(as we see on kh) and Xion is that part of her as a nobody!That could be true because on 358\2 days when roxas has the first flashback he says that Xions' voice is a lot like kairis'!

This game is not bad as far as fun factor goes. It plays more or less the same. But as far as plot and storyline it just dug the KH series into a bigger hole. I thought this game was designed to fill plotholes but instead creates a whole lot more. Seriously WHY add Xion? I get that she kinda gives Roxas something to do during those days thats kinda interesting but she just adds a shit ton more questions to this already messed up world.

Why was Riku holding Xion at the end? And most importantly, why does everyone keep on saying Xion died? Did she? That game made me a Roxas fan more then a Sora Fan and make me feel Riku is an Evil Basterd anyway in Reconnect Kingdom Hearts (which I think is a game) Sora will return what he owes meaning Roxas and Ven and Xion will come back I guess

Xion has no "true self", as she is a Replica, much like the Riku Replica in Chain of Memories. It becomes more easily apparent if you find a certain Secret Report, as her true name is revealed - "No.i", as in the imaginary number i (which is the square root of -1).

No, Riku never lost his heart. True, he did fall into darkness with Xehonort (at the time thinking he was Ansem) but he never lost his heart.

Xion is part of Soras memories... Nothing more than a puppet, less than a Nobody. She was created by the Organization XIII so that if something happens to Roxas, she'll continue his work. That's why she can hold the Keyblade, she's part of Sora. Namine is Kairi's Nobody. As for Axel, he's not Riku's Nobody. In the new game KH "Birth by Sleep" Axel appears at his original self, Lea. In that game he's very young, at the age of Riku (maybe) in KH 2.

I was so sad during the beginning of KH2 when Roxas had to join himself with Sora again. Now Kairi had two nobodies? Like a Nobody connected to the princess part of her heart and the dark? *brain hurts*

Since Nobodies don't ever age, their age is pretty much meaningless. Roxas would be considered age 14. Xion would be 14. Axel would be unknown since we do not know the age Lea was turned into a heartless.

Well it depends on if the game has the options to change the language sub, but if you look around in the smaller game shops you might find it in Japanese.
Be warned though, you can only play Jap. versions of games on a Japanese version of the system.

There's no such thing as a Japanese version of the DS/DSLite-- (maybe the DSi, as I don't own one) it's region free. I have multiple Japanese games I bought that work fine on my American-bought DSLite.

The game is about the time Roxas spent in the Organisation, His missions, His Friends and you get to play as Roxas and Axel i also think you can play as the new 14th member Xion who has wecked the name organisation 13 xD meh enough ppl have died in the organisation so its all good =3

Then why don't you explain to us why Kingdom Hearts happens to be extremely popular, especially around older people. It's a game that is meant to be for everyone, and is presented as such.
Also, have you ever watched any of the Disney movies that Kingdom Hearts? Because if you had, then you would be aware of the reason why the company is considered the leader of animation, and why companies like Square would want to use their characters.

You're wrong. The whole reason that Kingdom Hearts is popular is because of the Disney and Final Fantasy characters that appear in it. It was an unexpected thing to do at the time, as Square and Disney were two very different companies that made this kind of crossover work. That's the whole charm of Kingdom Hearts, and removing those characters removes that charm.
I think this game probably would have been better had there been MORE Disney characters in it.

This game tells the story how the Organisation uses Roxas to gather hearts for Kingdom hearts, it also tells lot of backstory of the Organisation members and such. it also explain how riku became evil to stop roxas from going nuts.
A good game if you envy the Organisation and would like to swing your sword with them, it also alows you to play as the organisation via multiplayer and solo, beeing Xamnes and Axel. and slay heartless in hundreds.

from what i've heard from other people and various game sites, it's the story of the time between the end of KH:CoM and KH2, following Roxas in his time with the Organization. some of Sora's memories escaped, mainly the ones of Kairi, and formed another Nobody, a combination of Sora and Kairi. i haven't gotten the game yet, so i dunno how all this stuff happened or anything, but that's what i know. hope it helps.

hey...I have a theory which may be dumb but it just came to me...Do you think that Xion could be the second nobody of sora?Like when he became a heartless roxas was created from his empty body...but because sora's connection with kairi was ultimately strong he had a part of her inside him(as we see on kh) and Xion is that part of her as a nobody!That could be true because on 358\2 days when roxas has the first flashback he says that Xions' voice is a lot like kairis'!
