The safety of these men is paramount, and what about when the paramedics arrive, all those necessary vehicles and men need the space to work in. Now, IF it happened as we see it and as we were told (and that is a BIG "if", because there is generally more to these "obvious" police-blunder videos than is seen), then the Fire Captain was correct. On a fire-call (which is what this is), the fire department has operational jurisdiction over fire-rescue matters. And the placement of the fire engine would be a fire-rescue matter. But, in my experience, there is ALWAYS more to the story.

I did not find anything as to whether the officer was reprmanded for his power trip. The firefighter was arrested for only 23 minutes. $18,000 for 23 minutes? Arrest me.

To start off, I am a police officer. Now, IF it happened as we see it and as we were told (and that is a BIG "if", because there is generally more to these "obvious" police-blunder videos than is seen), then the Fire Captain was correct. On a fire-call (which is what this is), the fire department has operational jurisdiction over fire-rescue matters. And the placement of the fire engine would be a fire-rescue matter. But, in my experience, there is ALWAYS more to the story.

@alexkkowalski your soo wrong. To be a cop, at least here in California, minimum age is 21. Even if your 21 you most likely wont get hired because they want people that are more mature. Its not required to have a college degree, but chances of getting hired without one are pretty much 0%. The only people that will get hired to be cops without a college degree are ex military, even then when their up against another applicant that does have a degree they will lean towards the college grad.

Im studying to become a cop and through these past 3 years in college, I have talked to countless police officers, recruiters, and pretty much any one in the law enforcement business. There's assholes in any profession, the only difference is that police officers are the ones that have authority over us so people tend to get really angry. I don't believe that anyone was seen on the roof. He was just trying to come up with an excuse to search me.That's just one incident of many that i have been through, and seen.A co-worker went to police collage and dropped out. because of the people he would have to work with.(The cops)

What would the liability have been if the firemen had just all got back into their truck and left the scene since the police officers obviously wanted complete control of the situation. If I were an emergency worker I would have felt much safer with that massive firetruck blocking the lane next to the one I was working in. The cop should be fired and the fire chief given an accomadation for his precaution.
