Why on earth did Walker ever attain this mass hysterical respect/national treasure status, etc..... He was an exciting guy, yeah but he knew very little about the actual driving and engineering side of racing
@tstanb The important thing about him was that he made you care even if you didn't know your way around all of the technical stuff. That's why most people tend to talk about him paired with someone else, like Walker and Hunt or Walker and Brundle. You needed a more technically experienced person to fill in the gaps.
However, by himself Walker sounded accessible, and that's all someone really cares about if they're not totally committed fans. You don't want to make viewers feel uncomfortable.

There's more chemistry between them two than Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley put together.

@heliumtrophy Yeah but Brundle commentating with Murray was every bit as funny. Murray usually was overexcited while Brundle tried to calm him down with his deadpan voice. It always made me laugh so hard I wished the commercial breaks would come so I could recover!!

@starlionblue Brundle was probably worried Murray would have a heart attack.......tell you what's cracking me up is when Brundle bumps into Tanya while she's interviewing one of the German drivers for German TV. There's more chemistry between them two than Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley put together.

@SerialKIillerrr I don't doubt that for a second. I think they should let Brundle cover the whole race by himself but of course he'll want to get his pal/protégé Coulthard up there in the box with him.

@heliumtrophy yeh, i think they make a good commentary team, when Brundle is more experienced as the #1 role as commentator he'll be really awesome! He's already good now for sure, but after being the #2 commentator for 13 years or so it mustn't be easy to adapt quickly :P

@SerialKIillerrr Yeah I think so too that is if the BBC stick with the F1. The only real gripe I have over the coverage is Eddie Jordan. Take that out of the mix and everything'll be fine.

@heliumtrophy lol, i don't have a problem with anyone on the BBC, i hope it keeps it too but i haven't looked into the situation or anything myself. My brother hates Jake Humphrey because he used to do children's TV stuff (CBBC) and he thinks F1 is too good for an ex-CBBC presenter haha
