Bush them there guys should lock themselves up and throw away the key.
im only 17 but i too grew up watching the waltons because my grandmother loved the show so much n when it reaired when i was younger she would get me to watch it with her. it was the only thing we really enjoyed doing together. she liked quiet and i was a tomboy who was the opposit of quiet. i wish there were more then just the 9 seasons & 6 movies. it would have been great to see johncurtis and verginia (& other grandchildren) grow up on the show the way their parents and aunts and uncles did
I love the Walton series. It's the kind of family I wish I'd been part of. Seeing the reunion pictures was great. They haven't changed a bit. Best wishes to all of them!
@antywanty so did i . im 17 but it reaired when i was a kid and my grandmother would watch it. i once told her i wished i was part of there family . many times she had told me that 4 some reason i reminded her of maryellen.(which was a dissapointment cause i wanted to be elizabeth but not i realized my grandma was right) she said it was because of the similar personalities. i was a complete tom boy , wanted to go into medicin( i still do) and was the oldest daughter among other things.
Thank you for this video. Thank you Mr Hamner for the amazing storys of a wonderful family ! I grow up with the Waltons and I still love all of them till today. Now I'm 43 years old and I come from germany. Best wishes to you all !!!
This show saved my life, when I was going through a very sad time. I have the complete Walton series, and watch it whenever I need a reminder of love, peace, and family.
I grew up watching the Walton's and I remember thinking just how alike they were to our family. I was raised in a coal mining community in West Virginia. There were eight children. But the way it was for me I was the oldest of grandchildren. I still remember my aunts and uncles studying by a coal oil light. And I do rememeber calling from room to room saying good night It was only when I got about five years older (now being about 9 this series came out) I love the Waltons
At face value, the Waltons certainly are a simple country family who through timeless values overcome even the hardships of the Great Depression.
However, look below the surface and go much deeper. You have a richness and complexity - elders of the family fully understand the problems that exist outside of Walton's Mountain and the pressures they exert. They meet these complex challenges with all the sophistication of any modern family - but with a truly uncommon wisdom and love.
The Waltons is one of the greatest shows ever put on tv, along with Little House on the Prairre. They were decent shows that you could let your kids watch and not have to worry about any filth in it. Most tv shows today are so filthy, and they are not good and decent enough for a dog to watch. Thank God for tv shows like The Waltons and Little House being on VHS and DVD, and on tv reruns. Most shows of today, forget them.
@may251961 no not really. but the waltons were based off a real family the hammers. although there were some differences ( like the names and the fact that there were 8 hammer children and 7 waltons. among a few other things )
Thank you for this video. This is my favorite show of all time. It is almost mirror image of my childhood and family as we too ran and old saw mill and had 3 generations under one roof. Heart warming episodes and great moral lessons, wish they could make more shows like this today. Thanks again.
I grew up watching this show, I'm about Cami's age.. awesome cast.. I could watch it everyday even now.. especially the oldest episodes.. thank you for posting this

If "The Waltons" taught me anything it's that, with just a little but of encouragement, ataining wisdom is easy peasy.

Nice to see Earl Hamner so relaxed. I've only seen him up to now on the "Decade of the Waltons," where he read his lines quite stiffly.

flaws, etc

My hubby and I watch 1 (sometimes 2 episodes) almost every evening. Can't wait for the remaining seasons to come out on DVD.
