  • without you my love i am nothing..... i really love you so much and is forever.... just you....

  • seriously. i hate dislike comments, but i just cant imagine a scenario or a human being where or whom felt right pushing the dislike bar. this is just beautiful. shat my pants from joy...

  • @ezanevnemletezik 100% agree.!

  • I just can not decide which version is better.

  • @RoxxyPearl One of the great things about music: it is not a competition :-)

You do not have to decide.

  • @butukebi Have you heard the lyrics? Emotional is like this songs first name. How you can use that as an insult is beyond.. everything.

  • @98Zai song is great. 1 of my favorites, it all about Robert :D

  • @butukebi haha. Well, the creator(s) of this song really respect his work, and even invited him to sing along. That alone should be enough to change your views on Robert.

But really, his own work speaks for itself. Obtain an open mind and go have a listen!

  • I'm crying now. It's just too beautiful.

  • oh my, it's robert and brian together ???? why did i miss that???? =(

  • SUBLIME

  • es lo mejor! perfectooo!!!!

  • YAY! Bobby is better than Bowie, sorry guys, just saying! :)

    Greatest combination.

  • Nosssa .. i was there! Amazing ...

  • chulls !!!

  • Robert was more beautiful than ever back in 2004

    great song

the combination of these two totally different voices is superb

  • Robert smith let himself go. But really it's his voice that counts!

  • placebo, robert and bowie would love to see

  • I use all the words are not enough for me to describe what i feel.

    GREATNESS.

  • Don't understand how people can have so strong opinions of a recording with such poor quality. I can barely heard them. :( I'd love to hear a decent version of this.

Btw, absolutely mad about both Placebo and The Cure. :))

  • fantastic !! oh my gosh !

  • <3

  • robert smith is definitely better in other interpretations, but this time I prefer the version of david bowie placebo ... but not bad

  • i actually enjoy Robert with Brian better, though the sound quality is hard to tell with this recording...but Roberts voice melds so well with Brians while it seems that Davids competes abit...which is understandable considering his voice is so distinctive and strong, and I usually love anything David bowie does, and make no mistake that collaboration is great too! Buuuut I love Robert with Brian...in not so short lol...

  • It doesn't sound great here, but on the night it sounded powerful as fuck. This video doesn't do it the least bit of justice.

  • Brian should leave sing the bridge to Robert alone, obviously I prefer play by Placebo with Brian and Stephan on voice.

  • For me The Cure is the best, Robert should have left Placebo alone, Brians voice is brilliant as it's own.

  • Sorry guys, I like Robert and David too, but the better version is with only Brian <3

  • Gosh I love Robert Smith, but the David Bowie version was much better. Still, the arrangement of this song for a duet is pretty awful in the first place, with the exception of the last bit of course.

  • not a massive fan of placebo.........or bowie.............or the cure, but the placebo/bowie version gives me goosebumps and a tear to my eye. This version leaves me blank and expressionless

  • Maybe it isn't as good as the Bowie version because the record is sh*t.

  • <3

  • I love Robert Smith and Cure, but in this particular song he just doesn't sound right. Their voices (Robert's and Brian's) don't match even nearly as well as Brian's voice matches the one of David Bowie.

  • Huge Cure/Robert Smith fan. Brian Malko + Robert Smith= two amazing, jaw-dropping vocalists. I'm thinking this duet doesn't work because there isn't enough contrast between Smith and Malko's voices or that perhaps Smith has just one of those voices that is subtle and fades into the background unless he is the sole singer.

  • once again (like bowie) i would like to here smith sing the song by himself, lets see what he can do with it

  • Cara, demais, esses dois loucos tem as vozes lindas.

  • I prefer this one than the one with Bowie, and I also love Bowie.

  • I noticed I could feel it at 3:36, but that's lame for what could be feel if u were there

  • Well, on cheap recordings you can only hear the highest pitch best. so we hear "David's" --don't listen to that band much. Wish I could hear it clear. I think it is a good matchup, but its all the high freqs on the guitar and voice. please get something better someone...

  • Nice and collectible!!!

    But what can beat David?

  • @Sotiris1214

well i thing Brian can :P

  • @robertandrei01 That is not the matter. Brian would not dare compare, after all he is in love with him!

  • perfecT! perfect! voicesss!.. i loveee this boys!

  • Robert's voice's better than David's!!! The song is beautiful!!! Thanks for uploading it!!!

  • the only reason it is a little dreadful at first is because robert is singing way out of his rang, he sounds best in his middle range... and the other guy should have let robert sing solo for a section, it would have been better i think...

  • @davidnilmusic At least you can tell this one's actually live.

  • This version feels darker than the version with Bowie.

  • ok i just saw placebo performing 'boys dont cry' and i cried very hard. i thought 'oh how sensitive i am' and now i see this and i cried again :(

  • i think this is a great song for smith, he just wasn't on point that night. look back to disintegration, this is reminiscent of that album

  • i don`t think this is a song for mr smith

  • i agree, i would have loved to have heard robert smith sing at least half of this alone. we know brian does an amazing job at it. robert stood by and let brian sing sone of if only tonight we could sleep. still a great song but brian defintely sang over robert. i love em both tho

  • Placebo and The Cure are two of my favourite bands but this doesnt work for me.

  • Comment removed

  • I prefer Bowie version..but I love Cure and Robert Smith, and I cried after three second that the video started.

  • @poi19831 me too. so hard

  • Molko should have kept his mouth shut, we all know is his song and he has played it thousands of times and he is playing the guitar too!, He should´ve given to Robert Smith full freedom to sing by himself alone, the song would have sounded much better, but sometimes egoes are so high........ such bad hosting from Molko.

  • @jeanjaques777 exactly!!! I agree with you!

  • @jeanjaques777 is not ego. he just feels passionatly his music.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!! With R.Smith or Bowie or without!! Song is AWESOME!!!

  • awch my ears

  • As I am Curefan since "19hundredschootmedead" ...omg am I old...I should say Robert Smith, but I love this song more with Mr Bowie :-)

  • I love itt!!!!

  • robert smith. a genious! :D

  • robert > bowie <333

but this song doesnt quite suit him as well haha..:/

    he seems nervous LOL

its nice to see the cure playing placebo music for once in a while rather than other way around ;)

  • @pinkthunderwonder It's Placebo playing with Robert Smith as a guest

  • @ninelivecat oh i know...

  • this song is a slut

  • @lilsweeti13 he's been with his high school sweetheart mary since... forever... they officially married in 1989... i am pretty sure they are still together.

  • wow does brian like singing this song with alot of his fav artists ...he sang this song with David Bowie & some other guy>????

  • @Beatlesful David Bowie actually sang this song on Placebo's album version

  • The song sounds more powerfull with Bowie, Smith and Molko are both able to transmit great melancoly troughout their songs, but Bowie has a far stronger voice than Smith, and in this particular song it sounds better with him.

But both versions are incredible dark and sublime, I just think that with Bowie it sounds more powerfull and with Smith more melancolic, it also depends on our mood.

  • two great singers!

  • why people spend their time complaining the fact that there is one more version of a great songthank God, there's nothing more to say when such artists are working together. just took a look at adam lambert and kiss. that is something to be hurt deeply, in my opinion!

  • on entend pas Robert....sniff

  • Sorry...can't touch Bowie!!!

  • I like Robert smith But Brian and Bowie's voices sound awesome together

  • wow!

  • delicious

  • personellement je préfère la version avec David Bowie ; bien que celle là ne soit pas mal non plus .... Bob risque d'être déçu sinon

  • this song still makes me skin crawlllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • @torturedserenity Jesus Christ, how ignorant could an idiot like you be? Kill yourself, right now, seriously. Old School Goth? Yeah, sure...

  • @Grenadier1939 About as ignorant as some prick that gets on here and tells people to kill themselves i guess, grow the fuck up...Don't you have anything better to do with your time, you fucking loser. I'm sure i have a whole hell of a lot more to live for than you.

  • @torturedserenity "Pathetic assholes that have nothing better to do than get online, bash people, and call names like a 5 year old" - "grow the fuck up...Don't you have anything better to do with your time, you fucking loser." Well, guess what: Followin' your theory, then you're a "fucking loser that call names like a 5 yeard old kid" What an imbecile, insultin' and then actin' like that you just condemned, now THAT is bein' a "fucking loser".

  • I'm sorry and I am definately going to regret this. But you are a dumb fuck.Emo, as gay as it is, is old as hell. and Placebo is 16 years old. I hardly consider them new school anything.

  • @torturedserenity "new school emo".. placebo?? *ROTFL*

  • @torturedserenity you have NO idea what the fuck you are talking about. period. i hope you're not planning to be a music critic or someone on the radio

  • @clusterkill And you people are experts on music, please. Pathetic assholes that have nothing better to do than get online, bash people, and call names like a 5 year old, Grow up people and find some happiness already.

  • This song is such a top fundepressing song. That Robert and placebo and Bowie this song like all says enyf . They are so great in my eyes.

  • the only song i plke by this placebo..cos somebody i love dedicated to me hehehe and cos Robert Smith the best is singing along :))

  • PLACEBO Should feel Honored to have Robert Sing by their side id shit my pants if i saw robert in person and scream like a Girl ahh Robert omigod He is so Talented and so Unique the only reason i respect placebo aside from the Requiem for a dream blind video is the cure singing rob singing for them u lucky fucks rmemeber this

  • i was there ^_^ first gig! didnt realise it had one of my fave artists of all time ever: ROBERT SMITH! <3 best first gig possible ever <3 ^_^

  • placebo and billy corgan pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Oh my. I'm sure Placebo was on cloud nine, no? They adore The Cure(or at least, I know Brian does). <3

  • I was there

  • espectacular, esta si no la habia vistoooooooooooooooooooooo...ta q placebo a tocado con los mas tigres!!!

  • nott as good as the other versions.......

  • Can we please get a studio recording of Robert, Bowie and Placebo together? I'd pay whatever they want to charge for that.

There are parts that Bowie does best, there is a verse at 2:13 that was made for Smith's voice (!!!!!!) and Placebo is just amazing throughout.

    Someone make this happen!!!

  • niceeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes it was and I like Robert but I prefer hearing/seeing Placebo doing this particular song with David Bowie.

    Which do you prefer?

  • @StrongManNY with bowie... specially because of brian's dress <3

  • i was there! my god! back in the day when placebo were actually good!

  • Fuck was Battle for The Sun?

  • @floyded2 yeah i miss old school placebo! :'(

not as far as nancy boy, but they were very good during 2001-2006 as well.

battle for the sun has to be my least fav album from them the sound is just tooo different than their old stuff.. *sigh*

  • wow i haven't heard about this version.. Robert Smith.. amazing just wow

    like it

  • Best version is placebo with david bowie

    altought this not bab

  • I can't really hear Robert's voice that clearly...a bad quality somehow...but I'd love to hear them together..their voices are different

  • Lovely. <333

  • for 4 minutes i forgot to breathe.. fuck.. this is awesome!:D

  • Have never heard Without you I'm Nothing with Robert Smith. Sounds unusual but still GREAT!!!

  • the best vid in youtube!!!

  • So viel Herz! Liebe es!

  • AMAZING ;__;

  • I just...

    T_T

    Love this song!

  • Version with Bowie sounds better, but this video is interesting for every fan of Cure, I think)

    Tnx a lot!

  • @beregtishiny yes;it is:))))))))))))

  • robert sounds amazing, but i still like bowie on this song more... probably just because the version with david bowie was the first I heard though...

  • Placebo are a great band and this is one of the greatest songs of all time! When you also listen to this sung by two legends such as Bowie and Smith then you feel you need nothing else...

  • gah, can't here robert very well :(

  • i think they are different than before but they still rock :)

  • i love that they are both together! the only thing i wish i heard was brian tone down his voice a teeny bit just to listen to robert smith too...i think brian's voice sometimes over powers robert's (at least in this video)

  • that's up to sound engineers and producer..........it was done that way purposely imo

  • i really remember that moment!! great london!!

  • I would like to hear Smith sing this on his own.

  • hmhm I think the version with David Bowie is better. But this one is pretty good as well.

  • I really like,it's the best bands in concert...

  • yes you have right the cure is the best band

  • This is the most amazing Placebo song and I think that the version with Smith is certainly the best =)

  • Placebo gets to play with all the greats, this duet version was with bowie originally

  • placebo, the cure, without you Im nothing...perfect
