Glenn Dicterow - I'm a fan. I was lucky to have met him briefly while I was in (high school) my youth orchestra - he was a guest soloist - sigh... I didn't know how lucky I was at the time. Great to see this video. Thanks.
I respect this recording so much...I feel like every other recording of this piece (of course, I'm probably wrong) tries very hard to be Kogan's. Dicterow's is different--a little slower, a little more gypsy. It's beautifully executed.
I agree with you 100%. This is a wonderful alternative to the Kogan recordings - which we all pretty much know are untouchable. Dicterow did a fabulous job on this. A+
This is extremely challenging. Perhaps that's why most violinists prefer the Sarasate arrangement? Dicterow must easily be the best concertmaster in the world.
