  • My Soldano Avenger 100 goes to 11. Paid $650 for it used at Guitar Center. Paired with my Orange 4x12 with v30's. Nothing better on earth. Not a Mesa, Marshall, etc. I highly recommend an Avenger.

  • Is the JCA50H much different from the 100?

  • @TheWhiteRoomMusik not quite as punchy or loud but tonally, the same.

  • im looking to get an avatar 2x12 for my carvin V3, but i cant decide between gt12 75's and v30's. any ideas? im playing an explorer and looking for good low end and attack

  • @PNWjib my suggestion would be to spend a few extra bucks and get the whitebox 2x12 rather than the avatar. my avatar gathers dust. I actually sit on it at my guitar/computer work bench. The whitebox is so much better and not much more expensive. google whitebox engineering. Thank me later.

  • Kickass sound!

  • "Does it go to eleven?" "This only goes to nine!!" haha still a monster of an amp bro.

  • @joeshmoa7x no but my titan actually does LOL

  • Which has more gain this or your Eggy renegade?

  • @Zhorellski This one. The new HDM version I just got is even meaner.

The renegade though has a lot more flexiblity with the low gain stuff using the various wattage options and low end tight/deep switches.

  • @FastRedPonyCar What's HDM again?

  • @Zhorellski the upcoming hot rodded JCA100. It has a depth knob and half power switch.

  • Which Nailbomb did you get? Is the standard Nailbomb but with ceramic mags or the higher output version? Thanks.

  • @theshyguitarist standard model. Got it before the ceramic was out.

  • holy crap! I was NOT expecting that sound at all! Amazing!

  • i so want my guitarists to get hold of a set of these amps, this would blow heads with the type of music we play :)

thankyou very much for your demos on these amps, seriously one of the best sounding amps i have heard in a very very long time. dare i say the sound can kick alot of the boutique amps backsides into touch and for half the price in most cases.

  • mid whore!!!

  • @bornburied lol they're great!

  • @FastRedPonyCar guitars are mid ranged instruments, why rob them of there best frequency? lol scooping them a little is great but its so stupid to scoop them so low you cant even cut through the mix. mids rock!! btw Awesome sounding amp man. I wonder how it compares to the infamous Soldano SLO100. I just got some BK Nailbombs installed in my LTD EC-1000 and I can't wait to try them out on my Mark V after I get everythin set up after the move. Rock n' roll.

  • @Nitrotigerz I don't scoop mids. I was just showing what the midrange knob on the amp does.

  • @FastRedPonyCar I know, I was happy you love mids, I just wanted to let the other guy know that mids are good. Great demonstration.

  • @bornburied

    better then scooped-mid whore

  • @dumapies mmmm scoooped mids...

  • @bornburied

    gross :P

  • @dumapies I love scooped mids I cannot lie, you other brother can't deny....

  • @chokeu2 i`m not attacking man, just SS and lots of mixing takes it to another level,

when I watch these videos before I was having tremendous fun, and knowledge.

I still watch these, but now its like ``you can make a very good mix with these super setup and use it on your album`` , while it should be ``you can get a decent sound and similar to what I hear with 2 simple mics and without pro stuff from this product``, difference is in here. 5 mics and mixed all together? this is serious eq`ing

  • after saw your recording setup, I must say that i`m disappointed, a solid state, no cabs , mics on minimonitors ,mix of tons of microphones, come on. :(

  • @cucuk666 are you sure you left this comment on the right video? JCA100 is all tube and it's going to an avatar 2X12 cab (which I said in the video). The "mini monitors" I mix on are Adam A7's, not exactly what I would call disappointing.

Please pay more attention next time.

  • @FastRedPonyCar oh I thought that recording setup was used at all videos, I saw this video of soldano and really wanted to hear what it is sounds like and remembered your latest recording setup revealed video, I like this videos but that mixing and editing really takes what is needed away. Keeps ringing in my head for last week. damn, use one condenser and one dynamic , maybe double record, but a solid state in the chain? come on it stains what you record, more than heals some tube errors.

  • @cucuk666 Tell eddie van halen the solid state power amp he used on his first two albums made his tone suck. SS power amps don't affect the tone in any way shape or form. It sounds identical to when you're not using it at all. The power amp is there to let me run the effects in true stereo. go do your research on this man. There is a lot to learn.

  • do i hear some devy influence in there?! im pretty sure seventh wave and storm variations were in there

  • @Linqua2112 yep. I was pretty disappointed by Ki but Addicted was GREAT. Not quite on par with Synchestra but still a step back in the right direction.. .or at least the direction I hope he keeps going which would eventually be back to strapping young lad.

  • Wow, that looks like a great interface, nice price too. Focusrite has a great reputation.

  • What is that Rode K2 plugged into?

  • @xiisign direct to a saffire pro 40

  • Is it just me or does it have a sort of mesa character, especially when you're playing with the EQ and doing that open chug?

Getting very interested in this, thanks for the awesome demo.

  • Well, thats a huge piece of sound !

  • very nice, that tone is killer

  • What do you think of that nailbomber? im looking into getting one to replace my stock pickup in my squier tele custom. Thanks!

  • @AveryandAyden I love it. It has a really powerful lower midrange.

  • @AveryandAyden Also worth mentioning is that Tim makes a ceramic nailbomb that has a bit more output

  • did I hear some Devin Townsend in there?

  • @jleclai1 Indeed you did. I love DT!

  • @FastRedPonyCar Awesome. Great playing too.

  • good demo!

  • Nice playing!!!

Does the Neck Thru make any difference in sustain, tone, or playability? I'm wondering if it is worth the extra bucks.

    Regards,

    Stang

  • no. my C66 with bolt on neck and floyd rose sustains longer... longer than my tokai even.. lots of misconceptions out there.

  • very cool tones, congrats...how articulate and clear is the amp? especially if compared to Splawn and Titan?

it has more of a loose or tight feel on palm mutes?

  • It's more of a vintage tone. Smoother, warmer and fatter. as a result, a bit less crisp and articulate when pushed really hard but the up side is that it sounds great without having to be cranked and has a smoother voice that makes it easier to record and better for the bedroom jammer.

  • that's very cool indeed...listening to your clips the amp shows that smoothness in the mids which is typical of Soldano tone

  • Can you get a heavy rhythm sound out of the normal channel?

  • on it's own, not QUITE but throw a boost at the clean channel with the gain cranked and it can get pretty heavy. Tool territory I'd best describe it.

  • @FastRedPonyCar Would it be Tool territory without a boost from an external pedal? Also, would I be able to get an early van halen-ish rhythm tone in terms of gain? Thanks.

  • yes and yes. no boost needed but a boost takes both the clean and lead channels into different sonic territory depending on the voice of the overdrive pedal..

  • thx for the input..u really have put out some really great demo vids of this amp with great sound overall, WELL DONE:)

  • nice vids,,,how does it compare to a peavey 5150.6505?

  • Smoother and warmer overdrive. Much MUCH better at low gain and mid gain crunch for blues/classic rock but not as tight and aggressive or saturated at high gain/metal.

Metal isn't it's biggest selling point. I dont think it was really built to do the heavy metal stuff but with a boost it can get close enough for all but the most hard core guys. A boost helps tremendously when tightening up the low end and boosting saturation/agression.

  • Cool tone!

  • Thats a fucking cool sound there dude!

  • Does this amp get much play competing with the splawn and Titan.

  • it does actually. it's a much better bedroom amp than the other two. It has a nice natural fat smooth tone that doesn't require preamp or poweramp cranking to achieve and records VERY well. I recently uploaded a video of a studio track I did using only the JCA100. All the tracks were recorded with the amp at a comfortable moderate bedroom volume. Kinda loud but not loud enough to piss off neighbors and not as loud as I'd play on stage.

  • @FastRedPonyCar Great sound and great demo. Thanks. So when are you going to get an endorsement deal with Splawn, Titan and Jet City? It's hard to find youtube demoes of these amps, and your playing does more to convince me to buy one than the companies advertisements and soundclips if they have any. Your clips convinced me to buy Nailbomb pickups for my Jackson soloist, and 2 Splawn 4x12 cabs so far , and I'm choosing between the Nitro and Titan right now for a heavy distorted metal voice.

  • @metalfiend124 The nitro has a smoother voice than the titan and more low end but less overall saturation/gain and the titan has a much better clean channel. I would also suggest looking into a used framus cobra for metal. Iv'e heard it's one of the best amps for that.

  • @metalfiend124 yeah the cobra reminds me a lot of the titan, but i've heard they have reliability issues. very distorted like a herbert i hear.
