Jimi Hendrix was a bluesman first and foremost. Had he passed the pills, he sounds like 50 year old old pro here. Think of what he would have done at 50 25 yeras later...Cliché, I know, but it's the truth....
this guy is fucking AMAZING, he could play jazz, blues, rock rythm & blues, wow, and he was only 27 when he died, Just Imagine what could have done with 5 more years of life.......AWESOME!
omfg!! I finally found it!!!!! I've been up for three hours looking for this song!!! Looked at almost every hendrix video out there....I heard this on Jimi Hendrix live at woodstock....and i found it!!
Really swingin' rythmic placement, Maybe the direction Hendrix would have taken, kind of futuristic jazz. Nowadays' pop musics may need more improvisation to get better.
If you really want to hear what jimi would be playing and sounding like today,I suggest go and listen to Buddy Guy`s 2001 grammy nominated masterpiece `SWEET TEA` !!! Jimi would have done what all Great players do after they have done it all.....`BACK TO THE BLUES` !!!
@twinsof86 Ha if you told me a single person would do what Jimi did in just four years (or how ever short it was) I would say maybe in his lifetime. So now your asking what he could have done in a lifetime? jeeeeeez
this is one of em things where everything is in the right place at the right time....i get the "same" feeling as with "born under a bad sign" from the "blues" album...goddamn it, i am so thankful for being offered the opportunity this stuff to enter my head through my ears to feed my soul. thanks youtube!!!! thanks uploader!!!!
Really interesting to hear this after years of only knowing the edited version on "Nine To The Universe." Fex, I love how Douglas and company edited out the solo work by the second guitarist (I forget, was that Larry Lee?).
he just rocks LISTEN

Very Jazzy Jimi.....the sort of stuff I think he may have produced, if he had lived longer.
He seemed drawn to Jazz by his oncore song at Woodstock. Who knows.?
Kristopful 4 months ago 2
Sounds very jazzy, loving the bass/ drumming. Commenting about the guitar on a Hendrix song is pointless although I'm doing it atm. :)
evilmonkey609 4 months ago
@evilmonkey609 Why is it pointless?
JimmyPage97 2 months ago
@JimmyPage97 Jimi Hendrix guitar playing has alot of praise already so to add more is a bit unnecessary.
evilmonkey609 2 months ago
@evilmonkey609 Who are you to tell me what is and isn't necessary? Sorry I missed the memo :D
