Thanks so much! As far as scales go, I wasn't really thinking that way during the solo.
But I love to play mixolydian over dominant chords, but try to avoid starting on the root. I've practiced for years making sure the tritone and the rest of the defining notes of any chord are heard when starting the solo. Then later you can explore and experiment with your right brain. Your left brain constantly tries to get in the way. Like Charlie Parker said, learn all that shit, then forget it and play.
