@hmill15 Well lets see - their "hit": entitled "Wake Up" as an example shows me what appears to be about 10 or so musicians all playing the same rhythm, same note thus making 10 or so musicians sound like 2 or 3 (as opposed to say "The Who" Live at Leeds where there are 3 musicians who sound like 5 or six. That aside the female keyboard player and backing vocalist is singing off key and even if ahe weren't her voice is rather thin and shrill. One must normally look to Yoko Ono for such talent.
@sheshiechan I agree totally. But this group I believe is legit and it is a shame that such a talented band is so overlooked in America when we are starving for new good music.

@TheEdugomu I think people want groups like these to be more famous in hopes of changing the music climate that most of us find ourselves in where independent music don't have a chance to thrive. For instance I have a couple of independent radio stations but because of Arbitron's influence in the Seattle area they've done away with radio stations that played rock, smooth jazz (might not be to my taste but I appreciated there being a station) to play mainstream contemporary music. It's sad. :C
In answer to alecahauf question: Why Camera Obscura isn't more famous in America - is because the music industry here is monopolized by idiot businessmen (radio, TV and especially MTV) who are force feeding us (c)rap, hip-hop, grunge rock and so-called "popular" indie groups like Arcade Fire - none of which are neither talented, tuneful or memorable. Mourn for us!
@defenestrationfan Arcade Fire & these trendy indie rock groups remind me of those "organic" food companies that people are purchasing to stick it to the major food corporations to not realize that many are in fact owned by these large corporations. That's how it is. They might be on a major record label or on a subsidiary of a major record company to fool people into thinking it's a small record label trying to stick it to these mainstream companies not realizing they're playing right into it.
Traceyanne is beautiful and also a brilliant song writer. When I look here on youtube I notice that there is a lot of you in the US who are big fans, so why aren't they more famous. Get out there and buy the CD's
@79mojorisin I know! It feels like I discovered a treasure chest and most of the public is oblivious. They are one of my favorite bands and completely underrated. But somehow, it makes it more special to me :)
i like this song todays music is so boring beleave me im only 14 im the kind of kid who like old music because it sounds so much better. Its not talking about sex 24/7 to!!!
This is pretty good; it has a kind of 1962 vibe, which is fine by me. The giveaway that it's not from back then is that it's nearly four minutes long.
i've never felt music in such a way that i feel camera obscura songs. its so much more than simply listening to music. slowly becoming my favorite band.
i don't think i spelled anything wrong (except for though)or put a question mark where it wasnt needed. lol you sure your not the narky hipster cunt in this convo that wants to act hard on youtube?
Actually it is not so happy. Mostly everything comes from Tracyanne's darkest and sadest moments, just listen to the lyrics... although I see why you say that, at first it sounds happy
This band is so cool. I love their sound and how even the look of many of their videos seem "vintage". They really pull it off flawlessly and it's so refreshing these days.
The first 1000+ playtimes in my itunes!
