Hey Holly fucking Wood can we get more of this movies plzzzzzz? I watched to great movies in a role, HEAT AND THE NEGOTIATOR AND I MUST SAY I WILL WATCH THEM ALL DAY OVER THE NEW CRAP THEY HAVE BEEN MAKING ACCEPT THE HOBBIT.
What people need to realize is that Beck is the kind of guy who values his teammates life, and trying to bring an end to the situation early. At first he thought Danny was too reckless, then he thought that Danny was a corrupt cop and had killed Nate, so he was more willing to take him out becasue he believed him to be a threat, in the end though beck learns that it was frost and his boys that were corrupt and set Danny up, he knew then Danny was the real cop, he was doing his job, albeit a dick
Dang...the next day at the precinct must have been really, REALLY awkward. lol "Hey man, sorry for the uh, you know, uh, trying to kill y--" / "Shut the f*** up." LOL LOL
i like how the fucking swat leader changed his attitude the moment he found out he was being an idiot all this time....."hey we have got a injured cop here!" "hey we have got an ambulance going through"......when the whole time he was trying so hard to take him out n didnt want negotiation to continue...what an ass fuck!!!
Hey, Beck? Can you stop screaming at everybody? You don't have to try to constantly prove to the world how big your balls are, ya know. Kapish, tuffguy?
Two faced Beck,"we have an injured cop here."20 minutes before,.."My men will kill him." His power is his life, without it he is zero. The sniper was a true friend,he "knew" him. Those who thought him guilty were not.
Amazing ending but someone's missing here, they forgot to arrest Allen the third bad cop who was with hellman and argento, he was seen at the back of the yard in the garden in part 14.
Lol guys you got it all wrong here, watch again part 14, Spacey shoots him in the left arm, not pancreas. And by the way, 1:28 - 1:58 I don't get that part of the radio who was talking there and what was that? Jackson turned the radio on when the 3 bad cops came into the house and since then he kept it on, but the part where frost is standing looking around, what was that?
This is an epic in our home. I can remember the spell bounding effect it had on me the first, second, thired and fourth time I watched it. Great actors I hope they got some kind of award for this film
3:20 - 3:57 awesome awesome awesome scene! I hope youtube pricks won't remove all the video parts, this movie is worth watching so many times. I've already watched it for the 6th time this week lolz. Incredible movie!
@Stress0227 I understand that, but the policy was to do negotiations first, regardless of whether or not a person could be talked down. Even from the beginning movie, before Danny was set up, Beck wanted to take the perp out. Taking people out should, as Sabian said, should be a LAST resort. I just felt that Beck should have a least given it a second thought. Police are there to save lives and bring people to justice, not act as assassins.
Thanks for sharing dude. Just a little suggestion that change the name of this video as same formant as before (the negotiator part 15 (last)). So that can be find more easily. Anyway, nice job.
I wish they made a sequel just dealing with the aftermath of the whole event. Seeing Beck and the other assholes that didn´t believe him get chewed out!
The irony of the film is that J.T. Walsh died in real life before this film was released. His role was as "Niebaum" who also died in this film. Great actor, even if he played an asshole in this movie...just shows what a good actor he was 'cuz that's what the role called for. You can see before the credits that the movie is dedicated to him.
He'd probably get out with a misdemeanor, because c'mon... He went through hell just to prove he was innocent. He has a whole battalion of cops on him.
In real life, if they didn't shoot him on the spot when he raised that gun on Rosen, he at least would be losing his job AND going to jail for the whole hostage taking thing. No way is this a viable way to receive justice. But it's a good fantasy for those who wish we could force cops and courts at gunpoint to see the truth, as they destroy so many innocent people's lives.
@leananshae In real life Dany Roman's character would, at the very least, get several charges of kidnapping, destruction of federal property, dishonorable discharge from the force due to conduct unbecoming of an officer... and who knows what else. Not to mention that Sabian's 9mm shot would have shattered his pancreas and most probably cripple him severely for the rest of his life... but yeah, gotta love Hollywood!
@OriginalSShadow Beck's just trying to do his job, man. But Morse did an amazing job with Beck. I mean when I first watched this movie I thought Beck was one of the corrupt cops, especially with him being gung-ho for getting his men in the team so they could have eyes in the room? And that look he has on his face when he finds out it was Frost. Amazing.
There are some plot gaps, but only if you're picky. Real well done movie. "You want my blood!? Take my blood!" Should rightfully become a classic line.
I love watching the scene from 2:54 - 3:58 because of its sheer power. Roman finally has the man who framed him and destroyed his reputation as a good cop, lying helplessly on the ground under his gun sight, but he knows if he pulls the trigger everything he fought for would be for nothing, and he would be the same as frost; who had the same shot on Nate and took it. Coupled with the music its truly an amazing scene
Love the floppy disk!.......and how Kevin Spacey turns his head and says..."what do you think?".......Awesome film!!!......Corruption and the pursuit of innocence.....and don;t forget the bluff.........Beck must feel like such an asshole and the sniper who didn't take the shot, must be so happy he followed his heart............THANKS ROOSHANZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@4:43- as if Palermo was starin on beck.. and on his mind what if i pulled that trigger cmdr. beck?? how can i sleep @ night when my conscience and guilt is creepin bcoz of killing an inocent man and a firend of ours?? =)
I was too young then to remember when it came out. I only remember as a kid seeing the scene where he's yelling "You want my blood? Take my blood!!" But even then I thought it was awesome and I always wondered what movie that was from. I'm glad I found out, because this movie is awesome.
Man I was really young when I saw this. It was a great movie then. And an even greater movie now. How great are Kevin Spacey and Samuel L. Jackson? Some of the best actors of our time.
I love how Sabien looks at Beck at the end. I cane hear what he's thinking: "Unbelievable. What a prick. After wanting to take Roman out without hesitation, now you want to make up for it by moving some cars out of the way? Someone should shoot YOU!"
Beck was a good guy - not the type to be afraid to take out another cop if he believes he violated the law and was guilty. In this case, he was wrong and Roman was innocent. Like another poster said, great ending, but IRL, he would face charges for engaging in the act of taking hostages.
@jbondsr Haha, so funny how everybody totally hates on Beck. I agree, Beck was totally cynical when giving green light and then going mental on palermo.. BUT you have to remember that they work by a chain of command, when the chain breaks life´s are endangered, you need to know that you have everyone doing their job to the maximum. Becks did NOT know Danny was innocent during the hostage situation hence he did what he was trained to do
@jbondsr it's not easy to judge man...we each solve problems in our own way...maybe some of us are prepaired to shed blood, others not. That's why you have different branches in the service, to use force when needed, or to use negociations when needed. Violence does solve problems. i mean...for the fuck of it, let's say he was guilty after all, made some negociations and escaped, movie ends with the man walking away...you'd dissin Sabien and saying that Beck was right all along.
