  • this is one of the first PS1 games I've ever played.....

  • this should be made into a movie!!!

  • Good game wen it came out. Would love to play again on ps1 but hard to find, any ideas? Not pc version

  • I've always wonderd why the space ship of Conrad looked so much like Luke Skywalker's speeder...

  • That game is so nostalgic to me, it was my first PS1 game and it blew me away. For the first time I was playing like an interactive movie, that was the feeling I had. Just hearing voices in a game was amazing and seeing 3D cinematics. It was always text on screen like the Super Nes back then. Gee, that was 14 years ago... such a long time.

  • Flash to Back xD

  • i fucking hated this game but this is nostalgia! the camera angles used to make me feel ill..

  • 0:21

Reminds me of a movie introduction. :D

  • i used to love this game! but nothing beats the original

  • had & completed this on the Playstation, took about a month. mostly due to levels that killed you if you were 3 pixels out of place. VERY annoying and not much of a reward when you finished either. almost as annoying as the "proper" completion screen of Exhumed.

  • I forgot how badass the soundtrack for this game was

  • In the CD version I belive he stripped down to his undies before going into stasis.

  • A pretty good game for its time, great graphics at least and I loved the cut scenes. No where as good as the original Flashback, but still not bad. Difficult one some levels, i could never fully beat the game without a cheat code hehe.

  • awesome i loved this game ,thanks for the upload

  • There are actually characters named "John O'Connor" and "Sarah." I wouldn't be surprized if Conrad Hart's middle name was "Biehn."

  • I really must boot this up again and try to complete it...I'm sure I was near the end somewhere

  • Why was he only in his underwear? In the ending of the last game he had all of his clothes on.

  • Hey, I never thought of that. Maybe the morphs took them off before reviving him... kind of creepy though...

  • @SavageArms357 at the end of the Sega CD version he goes into chryo freeze in his undies. The ship he's in is also from the CD version, looks like they picked up from that one.

  • @SavageArms357 Too late, it's already made you gay.

  • @SavageArms357

You noticed that and not the fact that the shuttle is totally different now?

Like a mix of Star trek and Star wars...

  • @Biopunked

Never mind..must be some of the different versions

  • @SavageArms357 He was only in his underwear in the CD version of this game. Look up the ending of the previous game, also posted up by Legenden0.

  • I think you ment Metallica. Great band but I don`t think they make video games...

  • i got stuck after i found this old man and beamed him somewhere, i lost myslef from there and then the game stopped working shortly thre after

  • The soundtrack to this was awesome. Shame the story got a bit wonky at the end involving a prophecy about the morphs and a strange pyramid...was rock hard too!

  • The soundtrack to this was really good. It was impossibly hard to play though. I seem to remember a section involving some weird pyramid or prophecy about the Morphs...kinda jarred the whole thing.

  • My god, after the legendary game Flashback we waited forever for this shit game...such an awful game...Flashback will always own this game hands down.

  • This game was one of my first games on PSX, the sound is still very good after all those years

  • John O`Connor?

  • @x0Beck0x THATS WHAT I SAID !!

  • The game play was no where near as good as Flashback, but the continuing story was as enjoyable. =]

  • Wow. First game I ever owned for the PS. Wow..

  • I hate this game I cant even beet the first part.

  • good ol conrad

  • i was so scared of this game omg. and now im laughing...

  • This game is a classic. I remember playing the hell out of it in high school when I got a PSX for Christmas of 1995. Thanks for the upload, it brings back memories.

  • spielberg should make a movie of this! it would be so coooool!

  • What I find funny about this game is that the voice acting was actually great(even for today's standards, it would be considered that) and yet RE1 came out a year or two later and completely BOMBED in the VA department. It proves that they could've done so much better with their actors.

  • I remember the game engine as... Terrible. the story was interesting, but I was tired of the bad gameplay.

  • Well i never got any far in this game, but the way to save your game was kinda fucked up, first to ram then your memcard :S

  • Yeah; I owned Flashback on the SEGA Genesis, and later on when I owned a PS1 I owned and beat this one too. Sad, but the fade to black wasn't as revolutionary as its predecessor. Flashback introduced the notion, that ultra smooth animation was important in video games.

  • oh what the hell, I just noticed they had a sequel to Flashback now when flipping through an old issue of Diehard Gamefan magazine. Of course I didn't have a Playstation, that's what I get for being a Nintendo fanboy in my teens. The N64 robbed me of some great gaming. I suppose I could try to play it now, but it it's been so long i don't know if it will hold up. I loved Flashback.

  • I had both consoles back in the ol' days thanks to my brother being a polar opposite of me (PS fanboy). And I can confirm that this game (though looks shabby) turned out to be 'one of those games'. Those I'd like to be buried with if you catch me.

It doesn't have the same effect as it used to. I was scared shitless of playing it, because of the chilly music and the general athmosphere of the game. Good times.

Playing it now is very different. Though it still offers a decent adventure treat

  • Yo wassup?

I actualyl just rebought the game but recently i found out that its available as abandoware on this one server:

    ""ftp://202.107.228.143:26/pub/games/games/west/"""

  • Fade to Black was planned for both Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64 but never came on either system. I guess you have to blame cartridge limitations on the Nintendo side.

  • R.I.P. Delphine SOftwares, too bad.

  • @sblug2

I agree. It would have been nice to see more sequels to this game.

  • i cant remember anything about this game but my friend told me about how i used to hog the ps1 all day playing this game so i decided to look it up on youtube ^^

  • Got jacked Space Quest 3 style, lol

  • Man, Flashback is one of my favourite games of all time...but this. I was gutted when i first turned this on many years ago, it just didnt work for me. Awful game.

  • HA look at that EA logo!

  • This was one of the first computer games I ever played.

  • Same here! But i never finished it, kinda hard. But hey, its never to late xD

  • haha we share a common failure...

  • Should I get this? :P The original Flashback is one of my favourite SNES classic games.

  • that would be fucking scary if there was a giant fish thing floating somewhere in space

  • first game i had on my playstation, i would have loved 2 pass the first level! oh the days when i was 6 years old playing this stuff:P

  • Yeah... nostalgia! Loved that game. Though my PC almost couldn't run it. On some levels it was more of a dia show. Still I loved it, especially the intro.

  • This was one of the first games I got on the ps1 and was my favourite. Just played it recently and the graphics and controls are quite poor but the story and gameplay are very cool. This would be amazing if it were made on the ps3.

  • very difficult game!

  • I loved this game, i must have been 12 when i had it!!! Lent it to a friend and never seen it again! It or ridge racer..... bitch!

  • john o conner?

    terminator reference?

  • so wait...john connor dealt with the morphs before deailng with the terminators...?

no wonder he was a good general O_o

  • I played on PC. I've been stuck on L5 for several months.

  • i still own the ps version. i dont play it anymore. i do remeber it being really hard.

  • with the stupid crocodile headed aliens , the cook that you had the choice to shoot or not cos he pleaded that he has a family ha ha thats all i remember ...

  • hey whats up, i played this game when i was a kid...14 maybe...well this was one of my favorite ps1 games it was freaking hard!!!!!!!

  • True that,twas a very hard game.

  • i love how it starts where flashback ended.

  • could u upload all the death scenes?

    i loved those :D

  • I was thinking about replaying the whole game one day and upload everything interestning while I played, but haven`t got the time.

    Maybe later.

  • ok cool :D

  • Nice intro. Great music. Too bad they changed the convention. It would have been so much better in the classic FB style.

  • such cg is amazing at that time..it is even better than quake 3.

  • WOW!! I JUST read online that some company had the rights to this game and the classic game FLASHBACK and were designing a sequel which will be on PS3!!

HOW COOL IS THAT?? I'M SO EXCITED! LIKE BEING A KID AGAIN WOOOOOOOOOO!

  • They did do a sequel, but Delphine went bankrupt. Also, it was pretty much completed, with only 1 song on the game soundtrack. There's a leaked game out.

  • Yeah this was a top game i had it on pc and i thought it was great.

This was when gaming was still fun :)

  • that liams voice? loil

  • So underrated.and set a pretty good standard for voice acting in games(for it's day)and we still ended up with 'the master of unlocking!'.

  • a game with more ways to die than

a James Bond villain. But cool.

  • haha i remember this game it ran so damn slow on my PC, especially when you activated all the gfx

  • John O'Connor? Hmmm... Sounds familiar.

  • Aaarrgh, this was my first game on PS, wanna put my hand on it again...

  • good oldshool game

  • My second game.Such a cool intro, back then we couldn't believe our eyes with those videos. Also the voice acting was cool! And also my username is from the game.f2b=fade to black

  • Whatever happened to Delphine software? They made the most incredible games! Well... Eric Chahi did anyway

  • I heard they went bankrupt

  • :-( Sad news... :-(

  • indeed....I would have loved to see conrad on the PS2 or even a more advanced PC version...never managed to play fade to black because I didnt get a ps1 till like 2000....so...lol

  • Ebay my friend! Ebay... or Amazon! I'm sure it was out on PC too. Ever play Heart Of Darkness for PS1? That was by Chahi too, I loved that game also. Not a patch on Flashback or Another World. Did you ever play Heart of the alien? All that I can say is: DON'T BOTHER! The ending totally ruins everything!

  • yeah, check amazon..im only gonna buy the ps versionn, because i still have a ps1 memory card lying around somewhere

  • The original version is actually the PC version, released in 1995. The 1996 version for the PS1 (also planned for the Saturn but unfortunately canned) is a retextured port.

  • You would have seen it on the GBA. That was the intended platform for the planned third installment in the series (which actually was leaked in alpha state). I guess Delphine couldn't afford anything more big back then, since all of their last projects were GBA games.

  • Cocaine is not only a powerful drug but also expensive, they went bankrupt. Cite the "Digital Codeslingers: the History of Renegade Developers"

  • Love this game, was my first game on the PS1.

  • What a sick story! loved flashback! didnt get far on this one, left it alone! Great story tho!

  • Good old game times
