  • United are shit, flew business class with them from LHR to Dulles last year and the service was apalling!

Just aswell i never paid full price! hmm.............That's probably why i got it cheap!

Awful food and they never had enough red wine!!!!

The only good thing was the fact it was a Boeing 777!

  • You probably had landing traffic behind you in that case you would have had to make an expedited landing roll and exit the runway quicker than normal...

  • Runway 22R at ORD is a relatively short runway, it is usually used in conjunction with landings on 27L/R... 22R intersects 27R (now would be 27L) towards the end... when LAHSO (Land and hold short) operations are in effect, Aircraft landing 22R are told to hold short of 27R which shortens the distance available for landing, thus creates the need for strong braking when landing on that runway.

  • Thurst reverse helped slow it down

  • sorry for my ignorance. but the brakes are not underneath cuz there are the ruddar pedals. whenre are the brakes located in the cockpit?????

  • @777fsx200 The brakes are the same as the rudder pedals. The brakes are when the pilots use the toes on their shoes, and press down on the top of the rudder pedals. That is called the toe brakes.

  • is it a short runway?

  • Great stuff! Thanks :D

  • wow!

if you really want to have hard braking go to John Wayne Airport! (KSNA)

You should fly there sometime and record it :-)

  • @fsx767 I have landed at KSNA once before and i agree. This vid is a 22R landing....LAHSO operations in effect most of the time for this runway before the xpansion....6600 feet available. 5900 at KSNA but this is a 319 they land 747 on this runway on a regular basis

  • cool!

  • YA i used to live very close to ORD for 10years+ i moved a few years ago. I still live in the area but dont see them landing 22R much anymore also im not sure if the international flights needed to LAHSO when it was going on. And by the way KSNA Departures are as cool as the approches I miss California. Or maybe the weather.....winter sucks.

  • that's cool,

taking off from SNA is SOOOO fun!

especially in the 757, hold the pasking brake, set throttle to 50%, release your parking brake, full throttle and away you go! :-)

  • Ya very fun and as a matter of fact it was a 757 AA

  • @normondo772 i also lived near ORD but by 34L.

  • @Swissflier101 I think u ment 32L..I wish they used it more for landings dureing the day when i was a kid they used that thing all the time

  • @normondo772 yea its 32l.

  • Its better to use the brakes as hard as possible to increase their life!

  • The flightpath goes right over a country club named River Forest Country Club that my dad belongs to. Its not a bad place to spot, especially once you start yo see some heavies land.

  • I remember landing on 22R in ORD on a 757 last year on United, and our pilot really stood on the brakes!

  • I love it... Above the clouds its a nice sunny day. Then 100 feet below you its a sad rainy day.

  • its always a fun ride to chicago for meh, for sum reson i always hit bad weather :/

  • I have landed in chicago once.

  • Nice vid. Thx.

  • I love loud/shaky landings! But they seem to put the aircraft under alot of unnecessary stress.

  • @firstclasspassenger I think this one is necessary, like in any busy airport often there are many planes queuing for landing separated by few miles. You gotta land and get out asap.

  • @ArticMuse You are right!
