The hired thugs are government reps and police. Here in U.S. we use them for target practice if they overstep their boundary and exceed their authority.
We do just as bad in North America. It is just in a different form. The sickness infecting the world is called corporatism, another fancy name for Fascism. That is the political system the world is heading toward.
Stop with this equivalence nonsense. It's not just as bad in North America. In a free country you definitely have better protections under the law, and greater access to the courts, plus a cultural openness in criticizing the government. This is a real difference.
I'd rather live in the US than in china, thats true (allthough i don't want to live in the US. i prefer almost any west european country to the US).
but still. do u know how much money matters in court? people can sue a corporation, with evidence that only insane people would denie, and they still lose. this happens all the time. protection under the law. yeah, probably. except if u dont have any money that is.
I have won cases against corporations in the U.S. courts, and I have sat on juries. Te system, although not perfect (no human system is), works pretty well.
People win court cases all the time (and yes, some lose but in our system you don't get to win just by accusing, you have to prove). If you can show me a case where justice was denied, then we have something to discuss.
and do u know what free means? people pay far too much attention to written documents and stuff like that. "it sais it in the law so it has to be true"
the law is only a representation of the rules. what actually happens, that's what matters. but people always flee to contracts and whatever. if someone doesn't get healthcare, and therfore dies. then hes dead. period. what does freedom have to do with that?
If someone can't pay for healthcare in the U.S. he can go to any emergency room in the country and he cannot be denied care for his lack of ability to pay.
I don't think there is enough freedom in health care, so I am not sure this is really the same issue. Security and freedom are two different concepts.
Freedom is a condition where you are not forced to deal with a single (monopoly) provider.
people don't treat them. that hapens all the time, that if they dont have money or an ensurance they get denied.but i dont agree with that defenition of freedom. freedom is a state where you can do what you want. now obviously no one is 100% free, because thats impossible. now you should be free, up to the point where you will impair other people's freedom. which is not the case in the US
Sorry, you're just wrong. I've worked in the health care system and have relatives who are doctors. You cannot be denied emergency care even if you have no money and no insurance.
As for your argument about what is free or not in the U.S., you can make a broad claim but unless you can provide specifics, that's really just argumentative.
the point is, that people always say that poor people are poor because of their own actions and rich are rich because they are good at earning money. however. most rich people get rich because they already had money from their parents. its hard to go from poor to moderate. and because of the power of the corporations, poor people stay poor. since corporations take away their chances by conquering the market.
and maybe ur right about healthcare, i could be wrong. sorry.
It is hard; I know, I did. But when you earn your own way out of poverty, you gain insight that is valuable background for success in business and in life.
With a monopoly (where no competition remains in the market), then I agree it is reasonable to break that up.
But this should apply to both corporations and government. ;)
Did Bill Gates and Warren Buffet inherit? How about CEOs of FedEx or Google?
im not saying there should not be competition. but there could be things like higher taxes for extremely rich people, and lower for poor. so the difference will be less big. because with 1 million dollars, you can get 10 million (if u do it right that is). u earn 9 million. but if u have 1 dollar, you dont have a start. so those people should be helped. this is however far off the topic of chinese farmers, being attacked by police.
There ARE higher taxes for extremely rich people and lower for the poor (in the U.S., anyway). This is the reality today.
And yes, this is far from the topic of Chinese farmers being forcibly deprived of their tradition and property, which despite all the efforts to sidetrack the discussion here by many people, is THE issue of this video.
This is a huge reason people in the West should stop doing business with the ccp. There's no reason to support gangsters who do this to their own people.
really? and you better pay your property taxes in the usa or they'll steal your house away from you. you idiot, thinking you really have democracy. this world is just the evil vs the good and evil is winning now. cause the good peoples can never unite and fight together , they are too busy working. evil is more united. look at corporations and how they support each other. apple and att sells iphone and says you have to have 2yrs contract or cannot use it. think about it idiot
Government cannot do that easily. In some states (Florida for example), government cannot take your house even if you fail to pay tax.
Apple and AT&T is just one deal. If you don't like their rules, get a different phone.
The problem some see in China is outright denial of individual rights. This follows a traditional communist philosophy of seizure by violence rather than due process under law.
only in usa mobile phone cartells charge you when making and recieving a phone call. this is thief and you people are so stupid to not notice. where is your true democracy when your law makers sleep with the usa corporations and screw the people. go on, keep lieing to yourself .
No, you really don't know what you're talking about. My mobile carrier does not charge me when making and receiving a phone call. I have unlimited calls within the U.S. For International calls I can use my cell phone but they charge extra, so instead I use a phone card which is really cheap. This is called marketplace competition. If you don't like a company's service, you buy from a different company. It's pretty simple.
????? so you get free service? which company is this? and you dont have to do 2 yrs contract? do you think I was born yesterday? Stop lieing for the corporations. wake up you low wage worker coporate slave, your aging fast.
if by this u mean that the US is better than china:
not everyone in china gets beaten up. im not saying its ok. but its still a very small part. in america there are also alot of people that live in bad conditions. china is less rich (averagely) than the US, so its worse yes. but that doesn't mean that the country is worse. in america people are also treated badly. just in a less obvious way. and like i said, less. but this is mostly because of money, i think.
I'm not sure whose message you're replying to (maybe not mine?) but I never said anything like "US is better than China." It is a meaningless comparison to make in any direction ("This country is better than that country") because it appeals to a person's base and reckless nationalistic instincts.
Oh, sorry... YouTube was not displaying the threads correctly.
As for my opinion, some things are definitely better in the U.S. than in China (there's no real disagreement here; even China makes this claim all the time so that it can violate international norms as a "developing" country). You are welcome to live in China if you like it better.
There is also prepaid service, where you buy how many minutes you want. Anyway, there are choices. Listen to yourself. You are complaining about the duration of U.S. cell phone contracts (not mandatory) while Chinese farmers are having their land taken away (by force). Get some perspective, man.
We should not be arguing. There are definitely problems in China worth fixing.
Why do US corps manufacture in China? It's cheap. Why? Chinese government fixes currency value, keeps wages low, and independent unions are illegal. Pollution is allowed.
Corporations shouldn't do this. But Chinese government also shouldn't allow it. If Chinese government forces companies to operate cleanly in China, it will be good for us all.
yes, agree with you on this . and your mobile phone servvice must be Metro PCS which many have said is the worst call quaility of all. some call it GhettoPCS.
This isn't about whether or not the west is better than China, the west is practically practicing communism too. But when western businesses are funneling billions to the ccp which they use to persecute their own people in campaigns like the one that's murdering Falun Gong practitioners, that's something terrible and the issue of whether or not democracy is what it says it is on paper is not relevant.
Well,ehs790 at least you are being honest about CCP and corporations being in the same evil bed. This planet is dying. Does not make a difference who wins after WW3;they will have a lesser world to inherit. Only America is the last guardian of the clean and enviromentally safe world.

There are generally two types of cell phone service: 1. Contract service, and 2. Month to month.
You can purchase either, or nothing at all. Nobody is holding a gun to your head. If you don't like one company, buy from another.
I am self-employed.
