so im looking at logic studio but i have a question. Do i just plug my guitar straight into the computer and record? Without using my amp and a mic and such?
You can do both. For the example above I used a third party plugin called Amplitube 2 for the guitar sound.
But you can also mic your guitar as normal and record into logic. Amplitube 2 is great when you want something quick but micing is always going to be better.
to hear the difference search for ibanezrules "I'm coming home". This was recorded into my Logic setup using a mesa boogie and two mics.
Your idea of "..messing around on the Electric guitar.." is probably well beyond what most amateur players even get near. The number of times I've watched your 'B minor blues' post is uncountable by now. When can we hope for some new uploads?
Thanks for another great comment. I have they love hate relationship with the electric guitar, as much as I love the sound I get incredibly frustrated with it. I do try to keep things as a melodic as possible with electric guitar and at times I really have to rain myself in, as I tend to shred a lot.
I am working on three new acoustic guitar pieces at the moment. I just need to polish them all a little bit more before I post them.
How do you get Amplitube 2 to work. I just installed it and all i get from it is a clean sound... i also use a SteathPlug to plug my guitar into the computer, and all it is doing is giving me clean sound, not the different effects from Amplitube 2

The guitar tone is a custom patch i created using Amplitube 2.
Apple Logic Pro 8 was the recording software used. The sound card is a RME Fire Face 400.
