damn awesome, was wondering if those pressure points were lethal if hit hard enough, don't want to kill some one. or do they have a limit, as in no matter how hard you hit it will give slightly the same result?
Unfortunately, this looks more like some Dillman knockout pressure point stuff then actual southern mantis. Not necessarily criticising this school, but avoid this stuff in your mantis, it's a complete waste of time & a simple money-making PR scheme. :/
friend do kung fu to 11 years and my teacher talk that kind of energy q vo are able to control after 40 years of age if I stop eating red meat and practicing the breathing of tai chi every day because it's true that you appear to have 30-something and already dominates.
this one was pretty cool too =]. i just didnt really understand the last bit. the guy was pretty slow...like i was expecting some fast old guy unleashing hell..but no it didnt happen. it was alright though i mean.
might be effective on someone standing still, but if you need to line up every hit and change the body position of your opponent for each pressure point would it be effective in combat. Interesting videos never the less.
There are over 350 points on the body, some work better than others, but the main points in the head and the neck work on almost anyone. MMA fighters, boxers, and other full contact fighter hit these points. Example, everyone knows the "button" a point on the left and right corner of the chin. Physically speaking, you hit it , the neck releases and brain gets rattled around in the skull. Minor hit= dizziness, Major hit= Unconscious and more than that= concussion and other brain injuries.
The "Button" on the chinese and japanese charts is there, commonly called Stomach 5. Other areas where fighters get hit and the just lock up and go out, or crumble, coincide with the traditional points. Wether or not you believe in the chinese medicine theory of manipulating the "elements" of the body is beside the point. These points have at least 2500 years of traditions and empirical evidence to support their function. If they didn't they would not have survived the test of time.
The men who developed this stuff relied on it to protect them in REAL Combat. Kill or be killed scenarios. So...the idea of passing judgment on any classical art developed out of necessity with the narrow scope of Sport Martial arts with rules and regulations is kind of silly. Not taking anything away from top sport fighters, they are phenomenal athletes and fighters, i wouldn't jump into the ring with MMA fighters, but let them come to my turf and play by my rules. NO RULES.
Dude, I'm really willing to listen to what you've got to say. But I'd really like to see this demonstrated against a decent full contact fighter from another style, just to see if the techniques can be applied under pressure, in a live situation. If you bring out video 4 with that covered, then you're the man!
I agree with 'beatsarokin' no one is acually going to stand there and take it. And if you want to use "standing people" could you at least go step by step or make the video go in slow motion? Unless of course you didnt put the video online for learning about the pressure points...P.S.-You like knocking people out don't you?
Can we see these strikes in a realistic manner? It would be interesting to see these performed in an actual fighting sequence, rather than just having willing participants standing still. Let's face it, nobody is going to stand still and let you hit them like that.

I love Traditional Martial Arts (Mainly Kung Fu). I must say I don't know about this(HMMM). Anyway enjoy your classical training.
P.S. These guys should work on their health and think about losing some weight. It will increase your skill by leaps and bounds.

This video is stupid. My wushu can overpower that ugly woman "knocking out" those people. I wish he'd try to use knowledge of pressure points on me.
