yes surfgirl24 but there are good scuba accident sites on the web too. try the myscubastory site. They have all sorts of dive stories and accident videos there. type myscubasory into google and its the first one. enjoy!
I would like at least once to watch spearfishing or freediving or diving without music sometimes its ok but you spoil a good clip with music we like to hear the relaxing sounds of the dive..I mean come on pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee
Im fortunate enough to have grown up going to Staniel Cay. My family has a home there. Ive been going for about 21 years now. It is heaven. Spearfishing was what I grew up doing. Never used a tank or gun in my life. Just good ole lungs and a sling spear. You gotta ram the spear through those big groupers. It's often not just as easy as getting off a good shot. Hogfish, lobsters, groupers, etc. Ive seen some big game fish, and taken some. Just leave enough so others can enjoy. The eastern side o
@boogeyman1603 You have got to be kidding me.. tell me would you jump into the water with 5ft+ sharks, moray eels, more than a hanful of very poisonous fish/snakes? I've been spearfishing twice, both in the bahamas and let me tell you something, it is not easy, it's not 10ft of water your diving in...try 20-40 ft, do you know how much pressure there is at that depth? you also run the risk of getting stuck under a ledge or on the coral when you're diving underneath to shoot/grab your fish.
you make it sound very dramatic. spearfishing is shallow, warm, clear water is about as easy as it gets. still a blast. sea snakes? used to catch them by hand as a kid for laughs. you've been twice. get out more, then develop an opinion ;)
@cwiller I think your comment about get out more then develop an opinion is very correct, although I think you may need to heed your own advise. You may dive in shallow, clear, warm water.... but for those of us who are truly experienced free divers we will go anywhere and dive in anything.... as in DEEP, COLD and Low Viz. So, get out there and develop a real opinion.
@RobertArrington I have been freediving over 15yrs and split most of my time between the redsea and northern British Columbia, although I've been freediving/spearfishing in 12 other countries. I think you're somewhat confused by where my original comment was directed.
Good effort not being a total douche and spearing everything that moves. Nothing angers me more than assholes who spear shit for the sake of it. Gives us all a bad name.
Nassau, goliath, and warsaw grouper should be left alone. Blacks and gag groupers are fair game as long as you kill to eat. If I was spearing out there I'd do it for food. Spearfishing shouldn't be an everyday thing but it's okay to do it every once in a while.
damn bro most impressive. how deep were u freediving? you got some real good down time. i just went tot he bahamas 3 days ago and this time of year the hogs were huge....very impressive tho.
You guys sure know a few honey holes over there, don't you? Very cool of you to leave those big grouper alone, and just take a few hogs and bugs. 5 stars!!!
Hey I appreciate all the great compliments. My Name is Robert Arrington and was the one spearfishing in the video... I edited it as well.... unfortunately I had a full audio track to go with it including voice over but youtube pulled it and posted this track which goes pretty well also.... again, thank you all for the great compliments!
I have only just got into freediving and spearfishing. I usually use the hooker. But i love freediving its a challenge and its the best! Even though i can only dive to 15 meters its still awesome
i agree .. you won't be able to catch a tuna with it but.. You can catch other larger fish such as grouper and snapper with it once you hit them in the head
@Highgradeeverday i agree if you are spearing bottom duellers but i just got into open water diving it is the shit but you have to have a gun for that
absolutely but for the bahamas, most of the good spots are places people dont regularly go to. find the depth you are confortable in, check a chart for some structure or rock, and go scout it out. bring home the bacon but make sure to let us know how it went.
Very nice video lads, well done. Nice to see the pole spearing being given a run - classic fish caught too! LOL my 4yo wanted to know why you were diving in your PJ's - time 4 new boardies.....
Ah alright. I figured it may have been protected. Nice grouper too. I need to try and get into the Pole Spear, I strictly use Hawaiian Slings as of now.
Lol, sorry. Meant to say with a Hawaiian Sling or Pole Spear. I haven't gotten around to using a Speargun yet. Sweet video though. My question is, there were a few decent grouper in your footage, why didn't you spear them?
Not at Staniel Cay Yacht Club in Exuma Bahamas! Watch next weeks episode of Reel Adventures that is completely focused on freediving, scuba, and spearfishing!

Hawiian slinging is how the bad boys do it..
Spearguns are wack
Highgradeeverday 2 years ago 2
I disagree with you regarding spearguns.
I use both since each has its purpose. slings/ polespears have a fish size limit before they fail, not to mention range.
