  • 10 people are idiots

  • This is a very underrated song. It also never had a video. The record company wanted to see if Cyndi could have a hit without a video. "All Through the Night" peaked at #5.

  • beyond a beautiful gifted voice, with great emotion and talent of a real singer cheers to all

  • Wow. I thought my immediate emotional reaction to hearing this song for the first time as a kid in the 80's was just a personal thing. Turns out I wasn't the only one.

I had the radio playing quietly really late at night. There was a full moon and I was looking out at the street lights and the clouds when this song came on. I thought the words and music were the most beautiful thing I'd ever heard. I was stunned by it.

  • @1After100 I had a very similar experience with this song. I was alone in my room listening to the radio and it was like the whole world was asleep, but in this song I heard my own dreams and hopes for my life. It was so beautiful to me. I still feel the same way when I listen to it.

  • Haven't heard this song since it was current, but it sent chills throughout my body like it used too in the '80s!

  • Wow! Cyndi belted out those last notes :-)

  • Muito gostosaaa ela quando jovemmm mais agoraaaaaaa iixxiiii

  • My favorite Favorite Cyndi Lauper song by a mile.

The organ solo break with the killer bass guitar sends chills up my spine even today.

  • Romance and love were in the air when I first heard this song. The romance and love is long gone, but I still listen to Cyndi sing this song when I want to take a walk down memory lane.

  • Amazing! xD

  • Cyndi is amazing,the best!

  • From that amazingly long note (3,30 to 3,41) onward is the quintessential sound of the 1980s: bittersweet romance. It was our time, the closing of the era of vinyl records, computerless homes, the pre-internet solitude, the brink of the collapse of the Soviet block and the end of the Second Cold War. Change was in the air but we were still holding the innocence of the late 70s. The brave new world that lay ahead was raw, brutal, and nihilistic. Neoconservatives had made everything a product.

  • I remember this from t.v. many years ago

  • I love Cindy Lauper. She kept singing later throught the 90s and even sometime ago when she and other female singers made a concert. She has a unique voice and I love her playful attitude in her videos.

  • Miss Cyndi lauper......truly the queen of pop .The most popular 80's icon , the most well loved artist by the younger generation in the 80's , the most unusual and colorful artist of the 80's. Cyndi is the still the best no one can imitate her true charm , charisma and her magical smile !!!!!

  • and of course her huntingly beautiful voice!

  • mi favorita de cyndi lauper.....

    q cancionsota

  • AMAZIE........ALWAYS........SONG

  • this song is by far "THE NUMBER ONE SOLID GOLD HIT OF THE 80'S!"

  • @TheSaywhatyousee He is HOT, I think he was from the hooters.

  • Being totally serious, who is the hot redhead guitarist? Yes, with the big 80's hair! I've searched, don't know who he is.

  • Esta bonito el video , esto si es musica

  • It is def the best Cyndi song ever.... followed by You dont know..

  • love it!! Cyndi, you rock!

  • I saw her on the Jay Leno show, she ran up into the audience, her dress swiped me. haha

  • For all artist...Have you ever seen to play CATS..Would not she have been perfect...

  • I saw her. Shes wonderful stood on a chair by my friend and said stand up. Don't post nothing. You love someone send them a letter..

  • The first time I heard this song, I was in a refuge camp in the Philippines. Some US Marines drove by in their truck and had turned up on their radio. Right then and there I knew I wanted to be an American.

  • hahaha solid gold

  • One of the most interesting melodies I've ever heard. Outstanding!

  • 8 people have half the brains listen restart and follow the fashion of modern

8 pessoas tem a metade do cerebro escutam restart e bandas do tipo e seguem a porra da modernidade

  • @I00000000I000000000I sempre tem que ter peçinhas assim como estes 8 aff kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • my ears must be broken just like my heart

  • Probably my favorite Cyndi Lauper song. Wish it hadn't been a lip synch. There's a clip of her singing this song live, in concert, in the 80s where she really did sing it live. And she hit those notes at the end, LIVE.

  • This song has haunted me ever since I first heard it back in 1984. It's melody and chords are in tune with its time, and Cyndi did a very good work in the performance of it. He backup musicians were also in fine form.

I do enjoy it, as I do tend to miss some of the people from that time, and I thank you for posting, friend.

  • Nice!

  • If I die tonight, I would like to give thanks to the Good Lord God above for giving me a chance to live through such an interesting music era throughout the 80s, for, today's music is crap!!!

Valley High School, Sacramento, CA 1984

  • @phambo101 -Amen to that! Music is crap today, the 80's was the best era of music as far as I am concerned..

  • @phambo101 yeah!

  • @phambo101 YOUR RIGTH IS THE BEST MIUSIC ERA THIS WAS THE BEST TIME OF ALL THE TIME, THANKS GOD FOR THIS OPORUNITY IN THIS TIME

  • Man, whoever played the bass parts on this studio recording of this song is a natural-born talent in my view...Dig all the bass lines in conjunction to the drums!!!...

  • Everyone loves her.

  • brings back memories....and she was good on "Mad About You"

  • brilliant as usual!

  • @mormongirl97 ~ I did ~ nahhh ~ Ur 2oo boring ~ ;)

  • Hey ~ I kinda likd this 1 ~ oi yeah ~ good-goobley- goo ~

  • The humming at the last part of the song is so beautiful it made my hair stand .. so lush and soothing ..

  • To me, this is the sound of my youth. There were many great bands and lots of cool songs. But this sound was the sound of the 1980s and my teen years. That long note she sings at the end is absolutely amazing. And watch her move from dancing to walking completely in time with the music. Pure magic.

  • Cydni Lauper sings backing on a Billy Joel track from The Bridge album ... Living By the Code of Silence ... it is amazing!!!

  • Cyndi sounds amazing singing one of her very best songs. Love it.

  • @SterlingRe definitely lip singing but she does have an amazing voice and would've sounded virtually the same even had she really been singing.

  • cyndi thwe great of course lady gaga justin bieber suck after hearing this beautiful voice of an angel

  • @1955c come on. don't ruin it with comparisons to junk. please.

  • @IreneLDS oh i looked at it again your comment i guess you agreed that those creatures are junk you know garbage dump lady gaga justin beiber , miley cyrus and all the rest of the human trash singers of todays music the only singers alive today that could sing here are a few melanie safka my number one, cyndi lauper , joan baez, donna summer, and a few other handful ,cheers

  • @1955c wait; you forgot a few: Loreena McKennitt, Enya, Haley Westenra, to name a few. I'm assuming that the former 2 messages were misunderstandings, I can't stand this.... what do they call it, modern?..... junk that a lot of people listen to these days. Tschüss!

  • @1955c oh crap this is my sister's account......

  • @mormongirl97 hiii sis! :D

  • WOW...SHE HAS SUM SEXY LIPS...SHE ALWAYS TURNED ME ON WITH HER SEXY MAKE UP..

  • Billboard's #65 song of '85. Why didn't Cyndi make an official promo vid of this 1? Anyway, she hit #4 AC, #5 pop, #38 rock, in Billboard. God bless, and, Merry Christmas!

  • marò me par na zezzos cu chisti capill

  • l loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Cyndi Lauper <3

  • Why don't they have the video for this song on her vevo channel?

  • just heard it on Big R Radio.. ahhhh the 80's..

  • Amazing singer.

  • She's the Lady Gaga of the 80's, in my opinion.

  • @taby32

Nah, Lady gaga is the Madonna of the 00's. Nice try though.

  • @nekoampyclone I'm referring to Cyndi and Lady Gaga styles, they're both unique in their own way. They are both weird and theatricals but its their trademark.

  • @taby32 Lady Gaga sucks

  • @LaugermanPROductions Affected much, get a life. LOL

  • @nekoampyclone ...she sure is. It's too early to tell but I suspect Gaga might have even more talent than Madonna.

  • ...UntiL it ends, tHere iS no eNd... <~3

  • La mejor por siempre

  • "Great song, in 1984, I remember my girlfriend breaking up with me, and hearing this song made me wanna jump off a bridge.."

  • what does madonna have to do with cyndi? if your viewing cyndi you should be talking about cyndi not madonna. however we have a lot of unstable people in this land and others as well get over yourselves i'm watching cyndi lauper not madonna get a life or correction lives

  • This is the BEST ever Cyndi Lauper song!

  • @RPSteve --without a doubt, it is..

  • love this song so much!

  • really nice song. i love it!

  • This is her best song, IMO.

  • I Love Cindy, Well Wonderfull memories, I love This Song Forever.

  • this song makes me wish i was alive in the 80's :p

  • She is so unsual!

  • They made her Lipsync??? Boo.(not her but the show)

We all know she can sing for REAL/LIVE!!!

  • @surfitlive That's too bad. I like hearing her sing.

  • Toda la noche estare esperandote .....

  • Cyndi is like an angel when she sings this song !!

  • the best album of Cyndi she`s so unusual.

  • To REALLY appreciate what an utterly brilliant singer Cyndi is you must listen to the ORIGINAL version by it's composer Jules Shear. Jules rendered this song as a simply GHASTLY, polka-influenced Country tune that most folks who hear it can barely stand for more than a minute. Cyndi-with her keen ear-was somehow able to hear his version and "feel" the song's "good bones". Under her skillful hand it became the delicate, exquisite classic it is known for today.

  • This is one of the best song of the 80ies!

    Sounds soooo great!

    Spring 1984!

    Bring back those times!

  • KIMBERLY IM 11 YEARS OLD AND I LIKE THIS TYPE OF MUSIC AND YOU GUYS ARE RIGHT. TODAYS MUSIC IS CRAP........

  • Absolutely beautiful : and powerful !

Cindy solo sabe interpretar y hacer buena musica. Al fina eso es lo q vale.

  • I Love Cindy, I love This Song, I Love With You Forever

  • wow 'solid gold" that is a blast from the past was real young back then but rem it like it was yesterday! where did the time go? want to go back!

  • shes not the best looking, but ive been so in love with cyndi since 85'.again,i love u girl.

  • Cool - Go Cyndi

  • what an incredible human being, a voice unlike others ,and emotion of depth and power. wow i have chills down my spine i've only known her from way back when approxiamately 33 years what great power and still chilling my spine and bone to this very day. i love my cyndi thanks for posting chees

  • @1955c

    WELL SAID!! :)

  • Most people don't realize that she is a true artist.

I wish she was still working.

  • @poopoo111222333 she just came out with a album last month she still sings... and she looks great..best female vocal performance I have ever heard..

  • @poopoo111222333 She does? She just a A CD come out in June. It's a blues CD.

  • Beautiful song from a beautiful woman. Cyndi is the real deal...a true artist who never cared much for craziness that came with her fame. She just wanted to make music and be heard. I can't understand why, almost 30 years after the fact, the Madonna vs. Cyndi debate continues. They are two totally different individuals who had (and continue to have) a vastly different idea of what constitutes success. These women aren't bashing each other...so why do their "fans" insist upon doing so?

  • @luciouslooloo Thank you.

  • great performance

  • I cant believe I like this song.......but I do!

  • She's So Unusual da Cyndi Lauper é um dos melhores discos que já ouvi.

  • I love Cindy, wonderfull Song, Bring back memories

  • ohhh very good kiss cyndi, I love you!!!!!!!

  • I love all of her songs. She is amazing!

  • This basically blasts me back to my early childhood years.

  • hmm for everyone talking about Madonna on a Cyndi Lauper video, just know that you're exalting a person who is by many accounts, an egomaniac who thinks she is a divine "prophet" and generally not a very nice person. FYI.

  • Cyndi's songs are just amazing! But this video light makes her eyes look really squinty. The white eye shadow doesn't help either.

  • There's a lot of beautiful voices but i've never heard one more beautiful than Cyndi's

  • A beautiful song; one of my favorites of the '80s. Cyndi has a new album coming out on June 22 called "Memphis Blues." You can hear her sing a great rendition of "Shattered Dreams" (not the Johnny Hates Jazz song) by doing a search here on YouTube. She sang it live at the recent NARM convention, where she received an award for creative achievement.

  • Cindy Lauper and All Through The Night; I just wanted to hot date Cindy, all through the night and all. Just friends is no good, naked buddies is better.

  • yeah, too bad. people seem to like skanks.

  • Pink, not Britney spears. Mae West, not Marilyn Monroe. Cyndi Lauper, not Madonna.

  • Too bad Madonna outlasted her and sold millions and millions more than Cyndi. Madonna's music will live on longer than Cyndi's.

  • Because their raison d'etr in being involved with the music industry ARE VERY DIFFERENT. Madonna thrives in gaining popularity and chasing millions while Cyndi Lauper has been fighting ever since to stay true to her artistic voice (this has affected the way her recording company supported her releases). Ever since, Cyndi has said she 'doesn't give a hoot' with the charts as long as she can still express, perform and touch peoples' lives in a positive way. See the difference behind the numbers?

  • Oh well Cyndi is the one that lost out in being an icon. Madonna is very smart and has been able to exploit the music industry to her advantage. Moreover she's always been able to change with the times and her music has always been enjoyed by all.

  • @mcarps7

Out lasted, why is Cyudi dead lol lol

  • @mcarps7. Madonna's motives for entering the recording industry is DIFFERENT from Cyndi's. What do you mean by success? Sales? Getting a lot of number 1 hits in the charts? Do you think Cyndi wanted to be an icon (she in fact said numerous times in interviews that she is an artist and not an icon which illustrates her 'base' motive)? Mcarps7, not all musical artists enter the musical industry 'purely' to be popular and earn money. Not all consumers of music like you understand this.

  • @arnisson - that is true, you are correct. Narcissism and self-worship was the no. 1 motivation for Madonna's drive for fame, no doubt about it. On the other hand, no other entertainer is quite entitled to her own self-worship like Madonna, for 20 years she was a non-stop hit-making machine. Even her more recent material is every bit as vital as her 'classic' material. I think Lauper is driven more by wanting to connect than Madonna (although Madonna also connects just as well incidentally).

  • Yes it is funny. Who would've thought that Madonna would've lasted longer than any other 80's artist and still going!

  • @mcarps7

Dont know much about Cyndi do you......lol

  • @SCD4 I know that unlike Madonna, Cyndi does not appear in the record books for the most top 10 hits by any artist in music history. Also Madonna has more N0.1 singles and albums. Oh well, you can't win them all!

  • @mcarps7

If you knew anything about Cyndi then you would know that she like many others in the music industry are in it for my than the top ten. Hence why I asked you how much you knew. Which is very little.

Maybe you will keep a husband one day are do a film people do not laugh at............Oh well, you can’t win them all. lol

  • @mcarps7

Will it. What you have a crystal ball like a £5 fortune teller at the fair. lol

  • @mcarps7 Objection, Your Honour. Madonna's music is dead even now as we speak. Can you name one single song by Madonna that can compare to Cyndi's performance in All through the Night? Pointed bras don't make music. All Madonna's music is empty pose. (With the exception of maybe La Isla Bonita). It's Cyndis music will live forever. Especially in the hearts of people who really understand what good music is.

  • @Panakeje Too bad Madonna will be remembered for at least 3 decades of music whilst Cyndi will be remembered for a very short career and always associated with 'girls just want to have fun'. By the way Madonna's albums are still selling very well internationally. When did Cyndi last have a big hit or huge selling album all over the world?

  • @mitalo7 I'm an old amateur musician and played with various bands since I was 15 (that was a long time ago) until the age of 42 (that was a long time ago too). And I know how musicians feel about music. Mostly they deride the general taste of average public, and even in the mainstream they themselves prefer a different kind of music. Yu're right. I should've written: to me Madonna's music is dead and always was. Cyndi Lauper's songs will talk to my heart forever. Even Girls just wanna have fun

  • hihetelen szép !Mindenkinek ajánlom............

  • Elle était bonne elle dans ce temps-là. De valeur qu'elle aie changée son style car elle est moins intéressante maintenant

  • She's a great singer.

    Timeless.

  • Yea! One of my favorite female artist in the 80's. This song will struck and stuck in your mind once you listen to it. I don't know why. Maybe because of the quality of the song.

  • luv i drove all night.
