I love the bit about Makiguchi's emphasis on independent thinking. What a shame such thinking is not tolerated in the SGI.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I am an independent thinker and I was chucked out of most organisations i.e school, scouts etc.
I've not been kicked out of SGI yet!
