The simplest way it to learn it to look at an object that is close to you then one that is far away and keep focusing back and forth - once u can feel what your eyes are doing try and defocus your eyes -- so stare blankly at anything and then defocus so the image you see becomes doubled. if you can do this - do it to the sterogram --- stare blankly at the center and defocus your eyes so the image starts to split...... then presto your brain will reconverge the image and it will be 3d.

I CAN'T GET IT!!!! I get a glimpse of it, then my eyes automatically focus and it goes away!!!!! I can see them fine if I go cross eyed, but half the time I can't tell what I'm looking at!!! SO FRUSTRATING

maybe i could focus behind the monitor if it were translucid, but it ain't and my "brain" thinks it's nonsense to try and focus through something opaque.

took me about 2h but i finally made it. its lot easier now when you have done it before. dunno why, but it was kinda creepy...

for evey1 still trying, you should maste the "dot test" first, its easy then.

this is a load of bull its impossible to try to focus on the object behind the steriogram pic when you cant even see it.

a guy told me to take a cd case, put it inbeetween my eyes so that each eye is focusing on different parts of the pic and then i supossudly see the pic, but i dont this is too hard for me :(...

after a while I start to see two monitors but i can't see the damn stereogram. It works whit my fingers, and sometimes I manage to see three dots instead of to but my eyes starts to hurt and I loose it.

The first practise one is a box with all four corners equaly folded open and you can see inside it. The three at the end starts with 1: a horse rearing up -looks like the lloyds bank horse, 2: a rose flower -maybe other flower but can see six main petals in rosette and 3: the last one is two dolphins divining out the water, one above the other. Top one is slighty bigger and is horizontal nose tip - tail tip. Bottom one has nose lower than tail-slighty diving..ish ( BTW u can see 'em instantly )

I can't do it the regular way, but when I squint/both irises pointing to the nose instead of foreward, I see it, but instead of coming out, the image is like a hole in the picture. Anyway it's much easier

It's a horse, a rose and then two dolphins! I've always been really good at these... When i was a kid i'd get bored and did tricks with my eyes and was able to control my eyes where i could shift them apart with ease. To really show how much of a dork i was I used to look at yearbooks and shift my eyes apart to blend people's pictures together to make an image of what their kid would look like.... But anyways, loved the video.. i'm trying to teach some friends how to see these things! :)

my dad showed me one of those magik eye books a while back and I could not understand what to do. then u showed the two dot turning into 4 then 3 dots. and then that first one with the horse and I was WOAH the image of that horse was perfectly clear. this is amazing. thanks for the video

the directions that come with alot of them lie. 8( you have to look at it crossed eyed. just staring at it or trying to stare into a distance is just looking at it cross eyed the hard way .

Find a point on the image, and stare at it. Just stare at the one point. Then, relax your eyes let them sit in place and don't actually focus at the image. Just keep your eyes in front of that point. It may take a while, but the image should start to come together eventually.

I find that this works very well when you're very tired and can hardly keep your eyes open, at least for beginners.

Just don't give up and remember to practice A LOT.

When the effect happens, the pattern in the picture will appear to be in a background, like a wall across a room, and the 3D shapes will "float" in the air. Its nuts, but if you do it once, you will start to be able to see more and more of these, even sober.

Hey - Here's a great tip, you'll see these stereograms easily:

- Try to see your reflection on your PC-screen

- Position your head so that it's in the middle of the stereogram

- Stare into your eyes [reflected on ur pc-screen]

OK, the easy way:put your mouse cursor in center of the image.Then change your eye focus, so that you see 2 cursors,and the 2 are as far away from each other, as possible. Then slowly, gradually change your focus back to the initial position, until it becomes one again. At some point along the way, you will see the 3-d image '"behind" your display, your eyes will catch it, when your focus will be right. If u still can't see, start over. try to change the focus slowly and smoothly, don't "jump".

I used the finger trick, but instead of focusing an something further away I put a pencil infront of the screen and focus on somewhere close to the tip so that I can also see the steriogram behind it, works every time :D

It's been frustrating me for quite a while, but thanks to your clip, eternacht, I was finally able to get the sensation!!! The dots wouldnt work, but the open box that FatalNova mentiones, I was finally able to see. I pressed my nose on the screen, kinda cross-eyed, then slowly moved back and forth, verrrry slowly, and woooosh, there it was. What a nice sensation once it works!. Took a while, tho, lol. Thanks for it! :-)
