It was pretty stupid. Amy Palladino wanted a two year renewal after end of 6th. She was upfront about it. Warner Bros Studio did'nt agree. Lauren/Alexis had signed 7 year contracts. Wait and see. Then the new CW Network formed. Dawn Ostroff wanted the series to continue past year 7. They wait until too late in game to finalize terms with alexis and lauren. All Execs should have agreed with Amy in first place and try to get girls to agree earlier on. Could have worked better for the show.
I agree. They should mentioned Everwood, it was a fine example of Family Television. The show was still young, fresh, solid ratings. The CW made huge mistake, they killed family genere loyal WB Fans.
People forget about The WBs Everwood. Great family show, The CW stupidly cancelled for 11th year of 7th heaven. Dawn Ostroff should have consider Everwood's importance in the long run For their Network. Both 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls were on their last limbs. The CW needed a family winner- Everwood was their ticket. They missed the boat. Only four season in, the show was as fresh as ever. It presented well crafted storytelling and 3 dimensional characters anyone family member could relate to.
7th Heaven was a bit too didactic for my taste and 11 seasons of it were way too much.Gilmore Girls was brilliant but after 7 seasons it had to become somewhat boring and it had to come to an end.Long live good TV shows!
i think what this clip syas is true... but it doesn't cover the real reasons gilmore girls and 7th heaven were canceled. GG is my most favorite show ever, but alexis didn't want to continue... and the show can go on forever. teh same is true for 7th heaven, after 11 seasons it was time for it to go.
gg only went dwn hill in seson 7 coz the main writer left coz the cw didnt want her to do sumin or sumin like
