  • Wow, you mean that canada isn't going to actually disappear into thin air? Or that we trade with a country that borders us? Your schools must be impeccable. All I am saying that without the USA military for your country to hide behind and constantly criticize at the same time, you would have the prestige of a Bulgaria. Without canada the world would still line up to trade with us, and no bad canadian television shows as a world bonus.

  • We don't criticize your military we praise it, were did you read that from? I spent 20 years in the Navy, worked with you guys a lot over the years and always got along with you. You have a very effective and well organized powerful military. A lot of world doesn't see it that way though. A lot of Asain and middle east countries think America is a boil on the world, a festering infected bail. We don't though.

  • US deficit 'hits record $1.4tn. that's pretty strong your right.

  • I admit that I don't have a strong country? OK If you say so.

  • No I don't say so. You do. Canada is not going anywhere i'm afraid, get used to it. Take a wild guess who the USA's biggest trading partner is? You need our electricity, wood, water, oil, wheat, steel and the list goes on.

  • Right now you don't have a strong country. Unemployment at almost 10%, your national debt is horrendous, bankruptcies up the ying-yang. The housing market has crashed, i've seen a4500 sq foot house for sale in Detroit for $165 grand. Your country has been in better shape that's for sure.

  • You canadians have done nothing but spit in our faces the last eight years. We won't forget it. Canada could fall into the sea for all I care. America would still be strong. Put Canada away from America however and they would have to protect themselves for a change with no American military to boo and spit at.

  • Well that's just to bad for you boo hooo hooo, so you admit you don't have a strong country. To bad for you. I worked with the US Navy a lot over the years and they certainly don't act like you, so your comments mean nothing.

  • Canada hides behind our apron strings in the world. It is only by it's close physical association with the super power USA that it is able to get away with having no military to defend itself, increasing internal social engineering. Canada would not be able to be Canada if not for it's shared border with the United States and the general cowardice of it's people in helping the world's hot spots.

  • What the hell are talking about, I spent 8 months in the Persian Gulf looking for terrorist for starters. Your the one who is a coward for making such a lying useless comment like that on youtube with no repercussions. Do you know how many flippin mines there were in there Persian Gulf in 2003, I risked my my life. Your country considers Canada it's closest and trusting friend.

  • Yeah, at least we aren't down to the level of a third world power like say, Canada.

  • Oh, great, pick on Canada.

You are so right. Canada is really losing it. Like they're rated 23rd in infant mortality. Oops. US is rated 33rd. Obviously because the US has the best health care system in the world. (snicker). Or that the murder rate in Canada is 1/3 that of the US.

I recommend you give a more thoughtful answer and ask someone to review your work before you post. Canada is a great country and we're lucky to share a border with this ally.

  • Canada is not third world, give me a break. Where did you get that from, there is more corruption and poverty in the US than in Canada, why do you think we are third world nation anyway? I'm an average Canadian and I own a $400 thousand 2700sq ft house on half an acre and a military pension. Not third world, that's for sure.

  • Canada is viewed in general as a boil on the ass of America. In other words, as nothing to deal with except as a minor annoyance. Canada may have nice parks and clean streets, but on the international stage they are seen as completely impotent.

  • Yeah, and at least we don't have a leader that discredits his country.

  • I agree with you there.

  • What do you mean, I agree with you. How can you disagree with me agreeing with you? I know you wouldn't be sarcastic on such a serious matter. And by the way I am Canadian. But I find US politics rather important affecting the entire world in some way, shape or form.

  • For the last six months Obama has done nothing but travel over the world telling them how terrible America is. Why would the Olympics want to come to a country where it's leader has no pride?

  • Hi loetzfan,

Your comment is factually incorrect and uninformed. You are encouraged to leave comments in support of whatever position you want. Just say something smart or substantive or add some kind of value to the discussion. Don't blubber. Try it again. Perhaps write a draft offline and have someone look at it before you post.

  • Hmmm, Then let me take another stab at it. Obama has traveled the world explaining what a horrible place America is, previous to this he attended a church that hates America not for a couple weeks but for 20 years, he assumes that the police are racist and already has a very full plate vacelating on his war in Afghanistan, expanding the Phone taps he claimed were unconstitutional and building an even larger missle system in Europe. If I can straighten U out in the future please let me know.

  • You're absolutely right. Things are tough. We've taken a lot of wrong turns. And polarizing every issue, attacking personal characteristics and religious affiliations and reducing complex issues to sound bites won't get us on track. As a matter of style, I prefer authenticity and candor to dogma and misdirection.

  • And for the last eight years Bush has done nothing but destroy your country in every possible way. WTG Bu$h

  • Oh well

  • Hi 888tho,

Thank you for your comments where you bridge from observing a rainbow collection of people united in their support for their city's bid to host a prestigious sporting event to your political rant.

Your comments are welcome as they reveal just how out of touch you are. It is astounding that anyone could revile "hope and change". We appreciate your self-review of your comments, i.e. "pathetic"

And what 's wrong with Kool-aid? Just don't use all the sugar the directions call for.

  • These are your typical Kool-aid drinking Obama voters... full of hope and change for their messiah but, as usual the "Natural Born Socialist from Kenya" delivers empty promises and America gets to pickup the tab for Obama and his rich cronies. While at the same time, the economy tanks and American soldiers die in the war against terrorism , due to deaf ears at the White House. The speaks volumes for the way Obama is running this country. PATHETIC

  • You can thank Bush for all that 888tho, Obama has to clean up the mess now and it's a big one.

  • Oh I forgot, when things are good we must thank "the natural born socialist from Kenya" but, when Obama falls on his face once again.. it's Bush's fault! Straight out of the Obama playbook..How convenient. Please excuse me for ever thinking Obama could ever make a mistake and the world doesn't bow at his feet, that would mean that he is a mere mortal. I'll be sure and sing the "mmm, mmm, mmm song 100 times for my penance. Please forgive me messiah! Happy Now!!

  • Your excused, everyone makes mistakes.

  • How's all that singing going anyway. Maybe you should audition for American Idol. LOL!

  • Back to being serious, Bush has made a financial disaster in the USA it has affected Canada also as well as many other countries, what a miserable mistake to even invade Iraq in the first place, Bush has caused a lot of innicent Americans, Canadians, Britts AND MANY OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE TO DIE. wtg republicans, you fucked up the entire world.

  • If you are correct then we Republicans are sure to be crushed in the upcoming 2010 elections right...right?

  • Your probably right, not sure but..... probably crushed.

  • Well I (and most Democrats in congress) disagree with you.

  • I didn't realize there was a scheduled election in 2010, I will do some research and read about it, thanks. Should be easy to find info on this matter. I sure am glad Bush is gone though, what a idiot, can't even speak to to public properly, check out Frank Caliendo with his Bush impersonation, makes Bush look like a complete idiot that he is.
