  • I am 28 and never new how to do this. I just learned in under 3 minutes from your video. Thank you for making it simple. I'm excited I just want to cornrom my whole head, my kids' hair and my husband

  • tis video makes it alot easier to learn then other videos, nice =)

  • You should post more videos! This one is really helpful.

  • So essentially it's just like doing a lot of french braids? I always thought the hair had to be frizzed with a perm first or something. Thanks for this, I'm gonna try it!

  • Great job!! I just subscribed because of this and the flexirod tutorial video :-D I have a question where did you get your mannequin from, and would you recommend ebay? ( I really love to do hair but have no one to practice on :-( )

  • @Omodada Got it from Amazon but yeah Ebay is cool too.

  • Thanks so much! Another great vid. You've def. got a new subbie. Please keep making more braiding tutorials. Your braiding is so precise and easy to follow even down to the camera shots...

  • what length of hair is needed (in centimeters)???

  • @TheArkan93km Just enough to grab.

  • great!

  • isnt cornrowing basically tiny french braids? Because I can french braid but rowing poses difficulty for me...lol

  • Very Simple instructions and great visuals. I completed my first "row" after watching this video

  • Thank you, for the FIRST time i've braided my hair thanks to you!

  • WoW! Have looked at so many Vids on this and yours is the first to have offered ANY enlightenment. Congrats on makimg a vid that does what it Now we wont go broke paying someone to do this every two weeks. You saved us MONEY! Thank-You.

  • Question.. So What Would You Do With The Middle Section Of Hair?

And Its Done Under Hand Right?

Haha Sorry I know These Are Dumb Questions But Thats Where I Get Confused

  • @zbreezy23 Just watch the video again and again. Move your hands like I move mine and you'll get it.

  • Well, I just might learn how to cornrow, after all. Great video.

  • in real hair, what do you tie it with?

  • @alfalgebra Elastics are fine but depending on the texture of your hair it might stay on it's own.

  • i've been trying to cornrow for years now & thank to this video i finally know how to cornrow :)

  • ahh you go under not over. My mistake

  • AWESOME!

  • Hell yeah nice video. Now im wondering if ill be able to do this on my own hair. i doubt it.

  • Wow that was really got it works

  • finally

  • This is the best..

Finally I can do it!! xp

  • Easy to follow!

  • this is such a gret video..thank so much forposting it..

  • THANK YOU! for you broke it DOWN & you made sure that your viewers could CLEARLY see the braiding... Thank you so much. GOD BLESS :D

  • I have a question. How long does the hair have to be to do this?

  • @xenafer Long enough to grab properly.

  • aww man,ive been trying for ages, but i cant pull it off. ):

how do i do it on myself?

i just want to be able to do the technique. for now.

what side of the head would be the easiest for me to start?

  • Is it like a regular french braid, but upside down?

  • @ilalated Kind of. :)

  • excellent video!

  • These instructions are so easy. Thanks!!!

  • Do you put anything in the hair so it could stay put longer?

  • @CyberDame Nope. When it looks bushy it's time to take them our and re-do.

  • thanks to this video i know now how to braid cornrows. thanks a lot!!!

  • i love it!! thanks :D

  • i dont understand how the braid doesnt get thicker as you go down and add more hair

  • @mirokupurple it does

  • ...it does..........

  • @mirokupurple the hair doesnt get thicker because it's on the doll's head so the hair stitching is even all over. But yes your thought is right; on a real head it would get thicker ENLESS the parts are really small.

  • @mirokupurple it does get thicker? lol

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I watched a different video a couple of years ago on how to do this and I just couldn't get it right....today I decided to try on my 2 girls after watching this video and they look great! Thanks again!

  • elastics..

  • where can i buy those maneqins, you know the one your practising on?

  • @mikacurt You can get them online at Amazon.

  • Am very glad to have found this vd!!! Now am going to try make my own hair!! Thanks amillion!!

  • Nice video

  • ok so as you braid it back you pick up pieces from the back as you go and what?, just gather it into one of the three pieces your working with? O.o

  • This is the best cornrow braid video ever.

  • what if u wanna stop at the middle of the crown and have the rest of the hair loose? how can i make the cornrows stay?

  • tie it with a rubber band or put a barrett. if you dont the whole braid will come out .

  • you just secure it with an elastic it will stay

  • or jus braid really tight

  • @shaybabygirl92 NEVER braid tight. That's no good and why so many black people have no hairline.

  • @nao1163 I think it would be fine if you used those small rubber bands and just tied them up. Or you can use bobby pins or mini banana clips.

  • Wow, I actually learned how to cornrow my hair! I'm so surprised because I watched my share of videos & just couldn't get it. But I learned from this one! Thanks!!

  • Wow!! Thanks..I always messed these up. Now I can do my daughters hair without sending her to her Grandma...Its quite embarassing..lolThanks again!!

  • Wow! that is so well explained. Thank you for posting this, I always had trouble but now I will do my girl`s hair :D

  • This is a great video! Wanted to know when you are doing the braid like everytime you pick up a new piece, that piece is the center piece right? and when you pick up that center piece up it goes over the left piece or right piece? i am going to start learnig to braid my own hair starting this year. Its apart of my new years "goals". I don't make resolutions.

  • JUS looking hurts me i havethem too but DAMN IT HURTS SO MUCH

  • @haitiplaya14 It's not supposed to hurt. Tell them to stop pulling so hard. You'll lose your hairline.

  • Finally some easy to follow instructions! Never knew it was so easy, thanks a bunch!

  • It is once you can see it clearly isn't it? You're welcome!

  • finally i know now how 2 do it : )

  • Good for you!

  • nice very beautiful

  • Thanks

  • how long does your hair have to be to make decent row ?

  • See the comment below.

  • how long does your hair need to be?

  • Long enough for you to work with.

That length varies depending on who'd doing it and their skill level.

  • my hair is abt 2-3 cm long (which is a big accompishment been bald all my life) do u think i can do cornrows?

  • @MrDevil609 I'd seek professional help. They have skilled fingers and can grab the shortest hair.

  • Hi, whats the minium length for cornrows.. My hairs are pretty short for these I think. Mine are about 2 to 2.5 inches.

  • @jawadalishe The minimum length is whatever you can handle.

  • i want that doll, where'd you get it?

  • Thanks so much! I can do it now :)

  • You're welcome.

  • Doesn't cornrows damage your hair, well not damage, but you know when you braid your hair really small, when you take it out it becomes all frizzy and stuff, will that happen to cornrows or no?

  • No, cornrows don't damage hair. Rough combing, brushing, lack of daily care and chemical abuse damage hair.

  • Good video, I think I'm going to try this tomorrow...

  • Thanks and good luck.

  • so what happens when u want a shower? do you need to do anything to it?

  • Put on a shower cap and you'll be fine.

  • nice .. thnxz for the video .. i realy learn how to do carnrowz now ... n i did on my sister .. :P i wanna do my self now... after practise.. :P

    thnxz again ... :)

  • You're welcome and good for you....you can do it on yourself too. Just keep practicing.

  • WOW! THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO I SEEN YET! I CAN SEE SO CLEARLY, AND ACTUALY KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW. Thanks so much!

  • Thanks and you're welcome.

  • @shineystar1801 I KNOW HOW U FEEL ITS SO GOOD!

  • Im really trying and I just cant seem to keep my fingers close to the scalp enough to grab the hair and make it tight.. any suggestions?

  • The best suggestion I can give you is to go slowly and each time you make a pass with the hair, draw your fingers all the way to the ends to separate the hair you're working with from the rest.

It also helps to do the braids with less hair until you get better. Smaller ones are always easier to do.

  • I agree, this is the best tutorial on how to do cornrows that I have seen so far... thanks so much for the clear and simple demo!!

  • Thanks and you're welcome. :)

  • I think that this is the best vid tut that I have seen so far thanks!!! I'll try it

  • Thank you. Good luck!

  • My sister did it for the first time watching as she went along. and my hair was done in 20 minutes!

  • That is awesome! Good for you girl!

  • You are simply the best.

  • Thank you. :)

  • i finally learned how 2 do it its awsome!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yay! Congrats! :)

  • Thank you so much! I gotta try this on MY practice doll!!!

  • You're welcome. Let me know how it turns out!

  • Ur right.....i am laughing. I got it and it's simple!! But i want to ask if ur left handed? Because i started with the right and picked it up.....but started from the left was what was confusing me lol.

  • Sorry about that. I'm ambidextrous with some things. I'm glad you finally got it!

  • this is the best how to corn row video on youtube you can actually see everything!!!!

  • Thank you!

  • Man! I can't catch on to this for the life of me! It blooks simple and i'm sure it is...but i still have no clue what to do with my fingers and how to hold the hair....i'm so frustrated...

  • Don't worry about it....you'll get it. Just relax and keep trying. You WILL catch it and once you do you'll laugh at how you're feeling now. :)

  • This is the best vid so far. But i need a view from your angle. I dont understand how to hold the hair in my hands. my fingers cramp up when i hold the hair. and im not sure if how exactly to add the hair. Should i be adding it to the middle peice? or the side one then bring it to the middle. I need like step by step SLOW instructions. with many diff angles to get this. Cuz it looks easy when u do it then i try and my fingers dont know where to go. Thanks!

  • Thanks. I know what you mean and I'm gonna make a part 2 for this video when I get back to "work" next week.

Don't worry...I'll make sure you and anyone who wants to learn how to cornrow "get's it" perfectly when I'm through. :)

  • pleez help me ... my fingers keep doin what they want and I keep losing the hair

  • Hi. Explain a little more when you say you keep losing the hair.

  • i could never do this

  • You sure can, just keep practicing and you'll get it eventually. I'm going to make a new video on cornrow braids explaining some more, and with views from different angles.

  • when i pick up the hair it gets all tangled, plz help

  • This is tricky to explain....but when you pick the hair up kind of run your fingers through as if you are combing the hair out all the way to the ends before you bring it around and pick up more hair.

Do this with each link you make with the braid to make sure the hair doesn't get tangled. It doesn't matter if you have to go really slowly to do it.

I'm going to make another video soon showing what I mean o.k.

  • iiM on my brothers youtube...and this is the best video!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • ill try that thanx

  • Yay! i've trust tried this on my hair and it worked!!!! It wasn't very neat mind, but i'll get better. I've always been able to cornrow braiding conventionally (over the fingers) but that only works for side cornrows or french braids. I've been watching other vids but this one worked the best.

    Thanks; you rock!!!!!

  • Yay! I'm so glad it worked out for you. I think soon I'm going to have to do a part two for this were I do it from some different angles and explain it more.

That's so awesome that you got it. Glad I could help!

  • I feel u on that ScorpioAsesino.....I'm trying to learn so that i can braid my bf's hair also....lol he won't do anything with it and refuses to cut it. But for some reason.....i jsut can't get it. It looks so simple!

  • Here's a tip for you. Start small. make a thin part and work on that. As you get better make the section of hair bigger.

A thinner section is easier to work with and a lot less intimidating than a big ole clump of hair.

Just take your time and you'll get it. :)

  • omg i'm trying to learn to cornrow so i can do my boyfriends hair, it looks so hard

  • Girl yes! I wanna learn so I can do the same with my finance's hair! Ahh lol so hard..

  • You ladies can learn it easy. Back when I had a boyfriend with hair long enough for cornrows I couldn't do it either.

Just watch closely and move your hands like I move mine and you'll get it soon enough.

They WILL look like hell the first few times you do it, but as you go along they'll look better and better. :)

  • thank you for t his video. how about a video doing this to your own head.

  • My hair is dread locked so I don't do tutorials on my own head. Sorry! :)

  • you make it look so easy. it is just a series of french braids, isn't it?

  • You have the right idea. It's like and inside out french braid. :)

  • omg thats cool!

  • Thanks. Once you catch on it's very easy to do.

  • omg i want to learn so bad!!!!

  • Hey, just watch my hands, go slow, keep practicing and you'll get it. :)

  • Can i ask, is cornrows just for black women?

    Just asking, not being racist.

  • Cornrows are for anyone with hair who wants to try them. :)

  • Ooo. Hopefully i will get to try them over the weekend ;]

    Looks nice.

    This video is very useful.

  • Cool. I'm glad it helped you. Let me know how it turns out.

  • Sure thing ;]

  • @bobsmellslikewelly Actually no Cron Rows can be worn by men or women

  • nah, it is for anybody who likes to have them!

  • I'm going to try this lol.
