  • thank you for letting me know i have the real brushes

  • the A on the fake mac has a little gap in the middle the real one does not

  • @773meangirllaura I got my brushes a couple days ago. 1 of the brushes was a little loose (the metal part where it connects to the handle) and the lip brush came apart completely. Oh well just superglued them : )

  • I think I just purchased those same exact set before watching your video. Same brushes and same zippered pouch but only paid $10 free s&h. If I end up liking only a few of them that is fine with me especially for what I paid : )

  • @bubbles7j i bought the same ones!!! but the ebay description didnt say MAC. However,,,,, for 10 bucks im not bitching

  • you look like hilary duff

  • @xEENiEMEENiEMiNiEMOx Amen ! : )

  • i bought a fake mac set kinda accidentally...but not really cz i kinda knew but thought id try my luck and i got my money back off ebay :D and i kept the brush set double :D:D the eye brushes work the same but the face ones arent as soft. i think i got a different set as well...there are diff versions depending if u get 12 brushes, 16 etc

  • this video was really helpful, and you obviously put a lot of effort into it! kudos! i don't mean to be rude, and this might just be my opinion, but the music in the background was a bit distracting. obviously, these are your videos and you can do and make them however you wish, but just a bit of constructive criticism! other than that, this video was spot on, and super helpful!

    xx, k

  • to all of you that are like, oh who cares? it works okay and it was cheaper. well you see those brushes may not be sanitized properly. like mac has brushes that are made of real animal hairs and obviously those have to be cleaned properly to be used on the face, but the fake ones might just be straight from the animal. DONT BUY FAKES! YOU DONT KNOW WHAT IS IN THEM AND WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN.

  • @MsPinkaholic0405

What about the people who can't afford the real ones? I would rather get fake ones and cleanse the brush myself rather than pay a ridiculous amount for a real one.

  • i rather get fake bruch becuase they are cheaper and they work JUST AS good as authentic ones.. who cares...

  • I got fake ones on purpose..

  • ur really pretty , your like a mixture of Hilairy Duff and Kelly Clarkson :)

  • I purchased some fake MAC brushes from downtown LA, AND I LOVE THEM! I got 30 brushes for 30 bucks, the only brush that's missing IMO is a fluffy brush, usually the one I use to blend my colors together, but its cool I picked up one from the swap meet LOL ^_^ Ladies it doesnt matter the brand! QUALITY is what matters! 42 bucks on a MAC 150 is a no no!!! KNOCK OFFS FTW! =)

  • @xEENiEMEENiEMiNiEMOx yes, but the only problem is you dont know where they come from. especially stay away from proucts. brushes may be okay, but do you really wanna put something on your face that you dont know where it came from? NO! id stay away or shop from drugstores. stay away from fake mac. it needs to stop!

  • @tiffanybabe01 Well to each their own....I agree with you when it comes to product safety but I know that I am not ballin, I don't have a shitload of money therefore I am not spending oodles of cash on an eye shadow or brushes. They work for me and my skin type so I use them. The only way to know, is to try it out.

  • I bought a knock off set of Hello Kitty MAC brushes simply for the stippling brush. I just can't afford good brushes. However, the only brush out of the whole thing that sucked was the stippling brush! Otherwise, it was a pretty decent set.

  • omg i baught this exact set :(

  • the real mac 316 brush looks the same...dont know if the bottom part is a brush top

  • Thanks for the video, though!! You are very beautiful :)

  • One of my friends just gave me the exact kit, I do not own any mac, but I did notice it seemed different, I don't care about brands at all, I just hope she didn't spend a lot of money on this :/

  • thanks for making this video. I was contemplating of buying it in ebay, I'll just buy the real ones.

  • Hi, guess who has a new subscriber? You!

  • Comment removed

  • Hey also I spotted in your video that there is a difference in the A in MAC because the real has a small slit where the line crosses and the fake doesn't anyways thNks for the tips :)

  • this helped thanks

  • Who cares lol, they are still brushes...

  • @iloveyoucp becuse, MAC cost ALOT, and mac makes quality things and u would probly get bad brushes, not all bad, but not as good as mac , for the same price. thats why

  • @lilyboo122 I never asked.

  • @iloveyoucp becuz, u put it on youtube. and that made it out there, for the world ro reply or do whatevr they want with.

  • @lilyboo122 Learn how to spell, use proper punctuation and grammar before you talk back to people who don't want to talk to you.

  • @iloveyoucp iz down'ts twinks iz hwas two

  • both the real and fake 239 mac brush both said 'japan' at the bottom?

  • @sweetchick10011

Most MAC brushes are made in Japan, Some made in France and only the 182 is made in China.

  • Awesome video thanks

  • Thank you for the review. I actually bought the same kit, but I payed $50 for it, and after two months all eye brushes were spoiled. And other thing is that I've got an original 168, too (it came in a kit)... and it is really the same as your fake 168, that is weird.

Thanks anyway, though I am totally against buying fake brushes after my experience.

  • do they work the same though? or feel the same?

  • WOW omg thanks so much, I bought this 180 mac eyeshadow palette w/ the 24 brushes from ebay. total knockoff. thanks to you I returned it :) thanks

  • Never buy makeup on 'macmakeupa' they sell fake mac products and you will never be refunded.

  • yes mac brushes also say japan on them....i have bought from mac and they say japan on them!

  • I got fake brushes is that bad cuz I don't really care?

  • @DemetroGirl1 not really! as long as you like them : )

  • @DemetroGirl1 a brush is a brush in my opinion as long as it do the job.

  • @DemetroGirl1 It isnt bad I got fake brushes in a Roll it had MAC all over it but they are wonderful brushes.

  • always assume people are selling fakes on ebay, especially if they're using a picture off the mac site instead of one they took with their own camera. it's fun to watch you point out the differences. thanks for the video!

  • I guess we know who has the fake ones lmao. The point is u buy what u want but people are selling them as if they are real. Now u may still buy them but she's just trying to let u know what u f getting.

  • Aww man...my brushes are fake! I really don't mind because brushes are brushes and they do the job right so whatever.

  • Why are people so rude?

  • @CRD706 WOW u called her ugly? Your more fucking ugly. Dont leave rude comments like that on peoples videos, you rude ass bitch. what are you 10? GROW UP, pluck your eyebrows, and get rid of dora and those fucking JB posters in your room. wow

  • @HelpMeetGaGaOFFICIAL

She is a child! Yes, it was rude of her to call her ugly. However, it's just as wrong for you to say that she is. She is very young, and she still has to learn how her actions effect other people. However, you need to learn that too. Replying to her just shows how childish you are. I can't believe this is a top comment. What is wrong with people?

  • i live in New Zealand ans the closest MAC store to where i live is a 2-3 hour drive away :c some of the knockoffs are actually of a pretty good quality which is why i have some knockoff brushes, also because they are less likely to do damage to my skin than say a fake eyeshadow which could have all sorts of weird ingredients that could cause a reaction.

  • the fake one looks like a paint brush :L

  • Mac brushes are to expensive. When they lower the price i might be inclined to buy some. Until then im getting the knock offs. Brushes are brushes!

  • I just order the fake set because i want to see how good they are~ Thanks for this video..i think out of all the fake ones i have seen these are very close to the real ones~

  • Thanks for this review. I also purchased this kit from Ebay (uk). I knew they were fake but the fact that the whole kit cost less than 1 single mac brush sparked some curiosity. You seem to like the same fake brushes as me and I agree with you that just for those brushes, it is worth the money (£8 kit ). The fake 190 brush is very similar to the original 190 brush, the original however has thicker bristles so slight less movement to it. I am actually surprised of the quality of these knockoffs.

  • This is such a useful video! Thank you. I am now checking out all my MAC brushes that I bought on ebay.... I think they are real ...:) x

  • I ordered a set of six (that I knew were fakes) for $5, free shipping, from eBay. Still a decent set, so I really don't care. Reasonable advice: Don't pay full price or more on eBay, but if you're getting a bunch of brushes, it really doesn't matter. Trust me on this, I'm pretty brush-picky, but the set I got was totally fine. It was a good supplementary set.

  • pretty good knock offs haha

  • where did u get ur fake mac brushes?

  • @HeartedAngel27 She got them from ebay.

  • @elvislover9 oh okay. i see. yea, i wouldn't trust ebay selling fake brushes either=/

  • @HeartedAngel27 Dont trust ebay sellers. lol its kinda sad. :/

  • I have a brush I got specifically from the MAC counter and the silver at the top doesn't have the deep ridges but it is a REAL brush so that's not always true @ the same time it does have, either France or Japan on the bottom

  • but can i still buy fake brushes?? cuz i hounded them at ebay

  • @norex25 i totally agree i saw the japan ingraving on the 239

  • damm i wish i new sooner i just bought this exact pack the other day off of ebay! thanks for the info though !

  • Does the real mac brush have Japan written on it near the end?

  • You are so beautiful.. those eyes C: thanks for the tips!

  • MAC never sells Mac brush sets in a holder like that, unlesss its a small holiday edition

  • how do u find out the foundation is fake????

  • I would love for you to enter my contest on my channel!!!!!<3

    GOOD LUCK

  • My MAC brush doesn't have made in france/japan, is it fake? I bought it today on a MAC-Store, hopefully it is not fake, but i have red that real one has made in france/japan..

and a another question i just paste on:

    Hey, hope you see this:

I just bought 190 today, but it is hard..? Will it be softer when I use it or do I need to wet it first?

  • OMG THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! i almost spend so much money on the FAKE brushes!!!!! thank u soooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUGS!!

    you are my life saver

  • I have fake mac brushes and they're pretty good. Brushes are brushes!

  • is the fake one really made in japan? if it is the brushes should be good..

  • the actual 194 is not as long as that 1.... well mine isnt and i think its fine very nice it is , very nice

  • real? ioffer.com/i/18092503

  • I bought that exact kit , but they are still reeally good brushes just beacuse there not mac doesnt mean i should chuck them out i still reallly liike them , there not mac , really good use a quallity though :) xxx

  • hi!

i just bought a fake set of 32 brushes :S.

and none of them had a number like: 239 and stuff.

so it sucks. but still i use them

  • where did you buy these?

  • the fake brushes actually look very nice! Did you let the seller know that you knew they were fake? lol

  • I found this video because thepinkladyj linked you in one of her videos.

  • Who cares if people know they're fake and still use them? It's ridiculous how people will pay more money just cuz of a name

  • @hollistar38 It's not necessarily about name, but about quality. You can have the best makeup in the world, but it's junk if you don't have good brushes. And while you don't have to spend a ton for good brushes(EcoTools, for example), MAC has a good reputation. If someone that doesn't know better is swindled into buying knockoffs, she could end up with a terrible brush at best, and a bad skin reaction at worse. Then she'll refuse to purchase MAC even legitimately. It's lose/lose.

  • @hollistar38 I agree times are tough and buying 32 individual brushes from the "actual brand" doesn't make any sense it will ending costing me 200 dollars, the fake brushes are GREAT for 25 usd ! I got them I love them and I would recommend them to anyone.

besides they are personal items who cares if they are fake??? is not like you are showing them off right?

  • why is the mac 182 kabuki brush made in china? are all of them like that?

  • I have the same fake brush set and i love it. + i only got it for £2

  • @LiZz1Ee Where did You get it?

  • @pointeskatecybunny on ebay from a seller named top_brush

  • @LiZz1Ee £2? that's amazing (even for fake). Where from?

  • @thedancinggymnast ebay :)

  • It's funny how the real Mac brushes are said to be made in France but in the part where she's showing the different color of the brushes the handles in both of them say "JAPAN".

  • @Norex25 a lot of the brushes are made in France, but also in Japan, I believe the 239 has Japan on the bottom.

  • @beautynewbie Really? The reason I said that is because evrytime I go there (Mac counter) they always tell me they're from France. Thanks for the info :-)

  • @beautynewbie i got some mac brushes at the mac counter and they say made in japan so its true some of them are made in japan, i guess it depends on where you live maybe, i live in australia so japan is pretty close, maybe if you were in england they would be from france?

  • wow. iv actually seen some 'gurus' with fake mac brushes now that i think about it...:P wow...

  • omg th efake 190 looks exactly like the realy 190. i have the real n it looks exactly the same]

  • lol the fake brush said japan on it... wow

  • The194 is actully not a concealer brush its actully a shading brush. But Mac actully apprved as a concealer brush so it works bothways :)

  • @NicolesGlamMakeup but i thought the 100 series where designated face brushes, so surely it would be the other way round (its actually a concerler brush but mac approved it as a shading brush) unless im having a brain retardation moment... the 200 series is eyes, 100 is face and 300 are lips?? ;)

  • where did u get ur REAL mac brushes??

  • @yunicasco123 A MAC store

  • @beautynewbie lmboooooo good one

  • @beautynewbie not if you get them from mac wholesalers

  • i dont get why people order fake mac (when they know its fake) (and i dont mean you, its nice you did this to show the differnces) But it just means they are buying for the name and not the actual brush. If the say theyre not buying for the name then they could get a better quality brush set anywhere - sigma, eco tools etc. And in the end if they love mac so much - its just 3 letters, if you love M.A.C the actual makeup - buy their products, If you just love the M.A.C logo..well then ur silly :)

  • @LetsMakeUp21 I ordered these not for the name, that is just stupid. I ordered then because they are pretty high quality, comparable to the real MAC and they were cheap. One of my favorite sigma brushes was 15 bucks, I think. I got all 8 of these for almost the same price....so I didn;'t buy it for the name...

  • @HarleyQuinnofHate i jst find it funny cause you really dont know what youre buying and like you said sigma and other reliable cheaper alternitives are great.. i donno it just seems wierd that you would order brushes that could have anything wrong with them when for the same price you can get brushes you know will be safe, also, i bet most people ARE buying the fake ones just for the name anyway :)

  • @LetsMakeUp21 True, you don;t know, but I did research before I bought and I was confidant in my decision that they wouldn't be crap. And I am glad I did now. And yea, if you are buying for a name, that just proves that you are more interested in saying, hey, look, MAC, instead of just using what works the best. I just picked up some great ELF brushes on Clearance for a dollar each. They shed a bit, but they are so smooth. :)

  • Thanks for this vid, Late comment but I always wondered if the brushes I purchased from EBAY were real or not and your video had answered my questions after 2yrs of searching. I did all the comparisons to my real mac brushes.

  • I bought a 32 roll of fake MAC brushes, all the smaller ones are very good. The fan brushes are garbage though. I don't like any of the real hair brushes in the kit. It kinda freaks me out lol.

  • @thepandalala i read somewhere that the biggest set that MAC did was 6 brushes... :s ??

  • When I didn't understand much about make up, I bought a set of fake mac brushes and a eyeshadow palette. Well, I'm not a brand oriented person, because I think you are able to get cheaper stuff with the very same good quality; but to be able to compare, I like trying some high end products.

It's so funny, I got some goods at Sephora and MAC and some fake are so comparable! I really don't know why are these companies manufacture fake brushes and eyeshadow, because they have so much potential!

  • I LOVE FAKE MAC LOL oH and the real stuff.

  • heyy i was just wondering is it safe to buy them off ebay how will i know if they are fake or if they are real?

  • by were i live they sell mac cosmetics they sell the 50-75% off the lady told me that she also sells brush sets and the big one costed $30 do you think this is fake?

  • some of the make up artist has told me to always shampoo and conditon your makeup brushes =) ( with any good quality hair shampoo)

  • well... obviously the m.a.c brush kits are all mostly fake, because m.a.c does not sell brush kits except for holidays or for special collections and then they even don't come in the normal size (the brushes are usually shorter than the permanent collection) . so that is a number one clue that they are fake.

  • i have the similar knock-off ones, theyre really not bad, considering how expensive the real mac brushes are.

  • i bought mac brushes of ebay thinking they would be real. even though the price was £30 for like 24brushes which was abit strange but i went ahead and bought them. they arrived today, and itsss so obvious that theyre fake!

I was considering getting a refund, however, watching your video i'm going to try them out and see if i like them

    Thanks :)

  • I use ELF's flat brush called the, "Powder Brush," to apply foundation. It works as well as MAC's 187 duo fiber. Both give that faked airbrushed effect. I use ELF's foundation brush for contouring. I prefer ELF over MAC because ELF's brushes are so soft, and vegan.

  • i need some help.. i want to buy a set of mac brushes and the one ive been looking at is the Adoring Carmine. i dont want to buy it on ebay cuz everyone knows it flooding with fakes and ill just waste my money.. so i wanna kno where can i buy a real brush set? plz help.

  • @anna63rubio MAC doesn't have brush sets unless its a holiday set but if you want really good brushes try ecotools or sigma(:

  • i bought mine for 25.?

but thank you for video helped ALOT!

  • MbekeStylin@ yeah but MAC would have had a better quality of pleather not the stuff u can get at a dollar store. It would have been more durible . Just sayinn

  • Thats a really good video and u are pointing out that even if u acidentally get ripped off there is still a good deal . Since 1 mac brush is 20-30 bucks when u got about 7 that u liked for the price of one=) great video

  • My heart just broke!. I got the exact same "MAC case" as you along with the brushes. I had no idea they were fake. What a dissapointment :( I paid £30 for mine by the way.

  • i just brought a set of MAC brushes off ebay, i was so excited at the time, i brought them straight away. i guess i'm a little Naive coz the fact that they might be fake never occurred to me... they advertise as real MAC brushes and you'd think ebay would clamp down on these sellers if they were lying about their products... right...?? haha. but even if they are fake it doesnt really bother me, it was a sweet deal and brushes do the same thing no matter how much they cost anyways!

    thanx!! :D

  • this is such a pathetic review ? i mean HONESTLY im a STRAIGHT up person .. &who gives a damn about fake AND real ones ? they all do tha same thing ?? i have real ones & fake ones mixed . some are more expensive than tha others & tha others are inexpensive .. but they do tha SAME thing ? sooo .. that is MY opinion .

  • @EverythingByDee They don't always DO the same thing. You're paying for quality with MAC brushes and the main point is that the people on eBay are assholes by saying that they ARE MAC brushes.

  • Mac doesnt do real leather, so the case being plastic makes no difference

  • I think it's great that you are able to give honest reviews and not be prudish about the fact they aren't genuine. I think people get so uptight about lables, and they forget that not everyone can afford to splurge money on make-up brushes that are £20 a go. Well done you. =D X

  • there is a solution to not get rip off, uhmm shop at mac, that's the solution, if you can't affort mac, then don't buy it, specially brushes, they are an investment, i have only one, the 189 the problem with ppl is that they wanna have a huge mac collection right away and don't understand that, a mac collection or a good collection of mac brushes take months and years to build.

  • Thanks for the tips and I really appreciated the review and the comparison.

  • i used to buy allllllot of mac make-up from a

gurl n i asked her if it was all real, she said yes

n it was but then she started sellin me fake=[

my only problem is how tha actual cosmetics

might harm my face, n iam not sure how i feel

about fake brushes but thnx for tha informative vid =]

  • Great review my ex boyfriend bought me mac brushes on e-bay and he ordered me 7 brushes and when they finally arrived 3 days later they were all fake and I was really dissappointed with them.So recently I bought the real thing on the official mac website and I compared them and u r rite u can tell a fake mac brush to a real mac brush thanks for the review I will never order off e-bay again its a total joke

  • OMG the funny thing is the fakeone look more real:P and high quality

  • Question: If you try scraping the MAC label and number off with your nail it can come off easily. The fake ones wont come off and are usually heavily imprinted on the handle.

    Is this always true?

  • Are you seriously encouraging buying knockoffs???

  • hi, pls let me know about the handle of the LE mac 226..i got DARK brown black or greyish ..i compared it to my mac regular brushes , all of my mac brushes were black ...

  • Great job! Many people have talked about them being fake but talked about the quality thank you. I will buy these, I really could care less what name is on the brush. I like quality. Have you washed the brushes, if so did you see a difference?

  • omg that so intresting thank you

  • thanks for the info

  • i just got this set! its not as bad as every one says

  • @piper477 thats true its actually pretty good it really does compare to the real mac

  • GOOD VIDEO

  • thats crazy, i checked e bay and the very first few links wouldnt even show a close up picture of the brush's, so im kinda figuring they might be knock offs, i wouldnt want to order one unless i know its the real mac brush's

  • I just made an account and noticed that too about the products...

  • Thnx for the info! I was actually going to buy Mac Brushes this weekend for the first time and this was really helpful!

  • Sweet, thanks for this, and love your bangs (:

  • I just got this exact set today in the mail!! If you didn't do this video I really would not have known they were really fake! The seller I bought from did not advertise as authentic MAC but I realized they probably were fake for $18...I don't have any real MAC so your comparisons were great..any who I really like the brushes even if they are fake..thanks for vid!

  • THANKSSS a billion.. i was going to get some off of ebay.. and i didn't omg thanks! you are a doll! =) .. i will keep my eye sharp from now on ; ) ! OH btw is your makeup sale still going on?! PLEASE let me know.. I want to start my collection w/ some goodies =)

    thanks

    xo

  • Great vid how much was the brush kit?
