look, the first time i heard this song, i was 7, just starting karate, and in the background, this song ALWAYS played. i loved it. it wasn't until i was 12 that i found the song, but a CRAPPY VERSION!!! So i saw the vevo version, and figured out that VEVO USED THE GOOD VERSION BUT MIXED IT! so i got so pissed. and finally, today, i am the happiest kid the world has ever seen. @Mewtwo465 It's symbolism... good symbolism at that. Basically they are comparing a relationship and most likely a relationship that is falling apart. "In our short years we come long way, to treat it bad and throw away." And "It's just like the movies we play out our last scene." Think about that line, its like even though we're breaking up what we had was beautiful just like a blockbuster.

There's actually at least 4 versions of this video! There's 2 versions of the party one. One has more focus on the party, the other has more focus on the band. Add that to the theater version and this version of course.

@dannyjingu According to the Wikipedia page for their ANThology album, 'Movies' was the first song that was going to be released as a single from the album and they made this low budget video because they were still unknown. According to the band, a radio station played 'Smooth Criminal' without their permission. They then released it as a single when they heard about the positive feedback it had received. They shot the new 'Movies' video when they released it as their second single.
