What a great car!Honestly thinking F1 should look at the past.I would really love see cars like this racing again, obliviously with the security technologies of today.
Btw,what's the song starting at 0:55 to 1:06?I can't find it.
(Sorry,if i may made some errors,my english it's not so good)
it would be good (for me anyway) if that car came to australia and did a demo at the phillip island historics in march, it would be sensational to see/hear it!
a nice touch missing from grand prix that will never happen again is the man who is allowed on track waving chequered flag with 150mph car whizzing past just feet away
so true, 70s in my opinion saw the greatest contrast between the start and end of the era... just take a look at the lotus 72 and the ferrari 312T4...
great car..then the m26 oh dear!!! good ol days..steve bunn davey ryan ray the hair grant.. hampton more..used to help build the air boxs in the school hols..and later thanks to the paint shop guys a luminous framed mclaren dayglo push bike..
I've seen in a documentary that these old cars had some kind of technology what was later illegalized. And so, in that aspect, they were more advanced than todays F1 cars. Don't remember what it was though :) But it was electronics. Or was that other car? lol
I'm 14 years old our family friend owns the Stanton Special (a special from NZ Google it) a cooper t41 replica and the ex Hulme Mclaren m23 and iv got to help my dad work on it!
the cropduster still runs in fact its going to goodwood this year and the mclaren unfortunantly is in the Uk thing is it will get drivin more over there more events for it
Funny thing with the cropduster is when the stanton brothers were building it they bought 2 spare engines so meny years later there first engine is still in the car and still stong and i know it sineged my hair hair while starting it! huge flame out the exsaughst and i had to pull the jumper leads from the socket and lost some hair not much but still it sank OVER the 100 octane and the owner stil has 1 of the 2 spare egines
@charlie866returns2 It did in deed. Sorry, it should have been a kind of advice but it was presented bit rude from me. It´s a bit confusing that you understand English pretty well (as seen in your comments), but dont just write down the lyrics into Google and have to ask. That is the point.

The song?
Seasons in the Sun sung by Terry Jacks.
Based on a Jaques Burel original.

ブランドルの旧車F1試乗シリーズは面白い!!! 赤ペカではこのマクラーレンM23もボンベイブラッドの血液リレーで活躍していたはず。 この時代のF1カーは個性があっていいな。

Emerson won his second championship in that car and he was what, 26 years old?
You've got to wonder how many championships he would have won if he hadn't got caught up all that Copersucar crap.

The car has a better view over the race track.
But safety was very low.

Modern F1 cars need less downforce and bigger rear tyres then we'd see drivers sliding around like this.
togalogs 1 year ago
@togalogs they say in 2013 when the turbos come back they will have alot less downforce bigger tyres and easier to overtake but harder to handle.

Cars from different eras had different demands.
The G-forces and dehydration of today racecars wasn't there, but also those cars lacked power steering and had manual gearboxes.

0l0Dom0l0 2 years ago
actually they saw speeds above 200mph on Monza even before 1974
fact is the 1971 Monza race had an AVERAGE speed of 151mph, and that's with the pitstops and slowing down for the curves

Would also be the lack of power steering on those era F1 cars.
