I have my first undecorated Athearn Genesis SD70 that I'm going to put in the NS paint scheme similar to yours. How long did it take the paint to dry enough to put the decals on?
that just seems like a lot of work. what do you use to cut that thick plastic? i've found that using a dremmel works well to get the heavy stuff out of the way then come through with a hobby knife.
That's a real nice job! I must admit when you said that it was a brush paint job, that I wasn't expecting it to look so flat and even - you honestly can't see any brush marks at all, I'm very impressed! I've heard about how these polyscale paints dry very evenly when brush painted but didn't believe it until I saw it. You've inspired me to restart my NS u23b project, so thanks! :)
Thanks! I use a small hand saw to cut the main parts off. Then i use an exacto knife to cut some of the smaller cuts and i use a file to take off the fans and gills.

well i guess that's one way to do it! LOL. I always used Cannon high hood kits.

I have a very small hobby saw that has super fine teeth and works great for custting fine lines..

hmm that probably would work a lot better. also shellscale makes some nice numberboards and actual white boards to go with them too.
