  • I work at AutoZone and I always recommend the 3m restoration kit. It does an amazing job especially on extremly hazy headlights

  • I restore hazy headlights and come out wayyy clearer than that... but I do use Meguiars PlastX...The way to do it is by sanding... Trust me.. Look it up..

  • good stuff man, thanks for taking the time to post this vid!

  • PUSSY cant even do shit by hand lazy ass

  • @gerardo9999999 U mad, bro?

  • Turtlewax better for me too. You just forgot to apply the uv sealant from the turtlewax.

  • The turtle wax rubbing compound method would have worked just as well if you would have wet sanded the lenses and then buffed them. I'm not trying to say that the meguire's stuff is bad just saying that the turtle wax method would work just as good if wet sanding would have taken place

  • @sharpanator The Meguiar surname comes from Spain... If the actual family pronounces it wrong, its just a "pochismo"... Like J.Lo pronouncing hers as Low-pess, when it should be Loh-pezz... BTW, it pronounce, not pronaunce ;-)

  • Its pronounced meh●guee●ahrs, not megh●wires

  • @tekatero Wrong.

  • @tekatero This is a pretty worthless crusade you're on here, amigo. I'll stick with the pronunciation the company itself uses for their own brand, in ALL their official communications. Go troll some of THEIR vids, whydon'tcha? They've got an entire channel of videos over at "MeguiarsUSA" for you to be a douchebag on. As for MY videos, trolls get blocked. Enjoy!

  • its way better if u sand it off...the purpose to get them clean and shiny is to sand off the yellow haze on ur headlifgts..if u just apply the plast-x it about 2 or 3 monts it would start getting yellow again...try using some sand paper..they look nice tho dont get me wrong...i did the same way that this video shows on two of my cars, a prelude 92 and a jaguar 02,and ina short period of 3 months they turned yellow...nice job thou man...

  • Does the kit come with enough for more than one car?

  • I think this is an "astroturf" testimonial. I'm wondering how much Meguire's paid for this.

  • @Rickinsf Man. I wish! Just my personal experience. That turtle wax kit left my shoulders sore with very little benefit. YMMV.

  • how long does the shine actually last?

  • how long does the shine actually last?

  • u shoulda wetsand it from lowest to highest grade then polish it. u would have a better result

  • I used the Turtle Wax kit on my Toyota lenses and they look brand new again.

Maybe there's a difference in the plastic.

  • Another way is using mothers mag and aluminum polish and u can hand buff ur us the mothers power ball either way works great

  • Hmm i used the Turtle Wax T-240KT Hand Kit and it worked perfectly on my '94 integra and '93 325i, I suppose it will all depend on the type of plastic. BTw you could use the power drill and get a soft pad using the turtle wax as well. for the might price of like 10 bucks total. But good vid!

  • Don't discount the Turtle Wax stuff, I just did my '97 Neon, and it worked really well in maybe 20 minutes. if you have (On JLynn's scale) a 4 or 5 level of fog, or less, give the $8.00 kit a try, maybe save a few bucks.

Just open the box before you put it sideways, the cap on one of the bottles was really loose, and half of it spilled... >.<

  • It is really the buffing wheel that makes all of the difference... I have used the turtle wax and gotten it to work but it is a lot of manual labor.... Walmart has just the wheel for sale... make sure the polish or wax them after to get a good seal and they will not fog as quick.

  • look at you doing all this manly stuff

  • @ijustine /flex

  • Is it a VW Passat '98?

  • @buldogx It's a 2001 New Passat. They made a couple changes mid-year. 135,000 miles so far... We'll see how many I can get outta this whip!

  • 9 years for a car is not much as i know.

    But still, nice work JLynn.

  • Whoa, good tip dude, thanks!

  • Yer over buff... McQuire.

  • For what it is worth, you can get an 18 volt battery operated drill at Lowes for less than $50.

You would still save $25 over the detailer abd have a drill to use later.

  • @keidun Exactly! =)

  • there is a place by where i live they charge 95 to do it.

  • @aarondnls24 I guess if you don't have tools and an able body, it might be worth it to spend the money. But I can't see why anyone who owns a power drill wouldn't just do it themselves for 1/5 the price. Nuts! =)

  • @JLynnCognito yea i know now that i watched ur vid i will go get the stuff u have and do it my self. i told the guy he was crasy and i wouldnt ever pay that much lol.
